  1. As I said, I think what you are doing is indeed very interesting. I'm absolutely not trying to dismiss or belittle what you are doing in anyway. I didn't expect you to agree with me (that's fine, you're entitled to say that ), I dunno I just don't see why people see free speech as being able to say what you want where you want. There's always been restrictions and parameters to free speech anyway - online these seem to be met with much greater disdain. I don't see anyone as being entitled to comment on anything, on their own site. I find the notion a bit bizarre. There is nothing to prevent people voicing their own oppositions else where. I don't equate closing comments as censorship when you still have the entirety of the internet to reply.
  2. Nah, that wouldn't happen now. Look at Hodgson, determined to make Wilshere a DM. Hmmm, what point was I trying to make again?
  3. Ok so I was along the right lines(ish). So, I'm sure we're going to but heads on this. But honestly, I do not equate being able to comment on something = to free speech. I often find some of the best places for discussion on the internet are some of those that are unashamedly moderated. There's plenty of reason to not allow comments on things, for example (yeah sorry, it's that again - won't go off on one I promise) take any article about a women and the comments just descend into a vile diatribe of misogynistic hate (done, I promise), same with race or even on Games sites. I mean, yeah people should be able to free speech - but within free speech there are still parameters. I read an article about 8chan the other day, and that really is one of the darkest corners of the web. Paedophiles openly posting links to hardcore child pornography or ways to groom kids. It's founder, and users will cry free speech. I know this is obviously more extreme than the cases of comments on news sites (sometimes, depending on the site) and the nature of the site is different too. Basically, yes, I think you should have free speech. But, I think people have the right to ignore you too, and websites have the right to not host your crap on their pages. Anyway, all that aside I do still think this is an interesting endeavour.
  4. I may be being dumb, so before I get off onto a wrong tanget here, can I ask are you talking about analysing what you can comment on, in what manner (ie comment content) and where? Then correlating this to free speech? If I have misunderstood, sincerest apologies.
  5. Left the slip months ago yo.
  6. Posting personal info on someone.
  7. My trouble is, England never know what to do with players of his ilk. For an example of this, see...well, Scholes. I really like JWP though, think the kid is a top talent. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders too. Potential captain, if he sticks around. Though, that may be unlikely, sadly.
  8. Did you just Doxx baj? Good thing you don't follow me, ya git!
  9. Saw Damon Albarn at the Royal Albert Hall the other night. Wasn't too sure what to expect, but it was really good fun. Hits from the full spectrum of his catalogue and plenty of his pals (Brian Eno, De la Soul, Kano & of course Graham Coxon). Off to see Jack White tonight, pretty excited. Should be a good'un.
  10. Because if you imagine it said in a Scottish accent, it sounds funny.
  11. Doesn't take a genius to see that would have been heavily influenced by Pochettino.
  12. Burn the dissenter!!
  13. We've got the answer to that: Women should just accept it. Right?
  14. Yeah, the editor itself is fine. I mean, apparently JRod is a right-winger? But you can be silly with it, and it ruins the game for me. I don't see the point if you are just going to make it too easy. That said, I have done what Tokes said before. Took Ruislip Manor FC all the way to the Champions League. It was quite fun, but totally lacking in challenge. Depends what you want from the game I guess? A challenge, or just to steamroll your way through. I think that might be why I generally start as a L1/Champ team. It's a bigger challenge, and you can sculpt the team a bit more. But that's just personal preference.
  15. It is weird this. I find the poppy thing baffling. Anyone who dares not wear one in public is absolutely pilloried. For me, forcing everyone to wear a poppy or attacking them for choosing not to do so detracts from the message of actually wearing one. "I'm doing this because I'll get crap if I don't, not because I truly believe in the cause". Charlene White, the ITV News presenter made some good points about this too - which also have some relevance to football. http://www.itv.com/news/2014-10-25/itv-news-presenter-charlene-white-why-i-dont-wear-a-poppy/ Before anyone starts, I have no problem with the Poppy campaign and buy one every year. I just find the forcing of it on people on, and as I said it detracts from it's actual message, in my opinion.
  16. Ignore me (that's probably sensible advice at all times tbf), I'm just teasing
  17. Strong tache game. Lot of time for that.
  18. C'mon BTF, Bats just posted that exact same article!
  19. I've said before I think Kane has it in him to be a v decent player, and I would have no objection to him coming to Saints (don't think it is very likely). However, whilst he has scored some goals, it's what? One heavily deflected free-kick in the league? The rest have come in the cups against lesser teams.
  20. Yeah Geldof can get f***ed to be honest. How dare Adele privately donate and not jump the second he clicks his fingers. It's more important that people are seen to be doing things, with him as the focal point (obvs), than actually give to the charity. And Bono, seriously, I hope there is a special circle in hell reserved for that man. Oh yeah, lecture us on how amazing you are, whilst dodging tax and saying how much you hate the line "well tonight thank god it's them, instead of you" - 30 years later when it dawned on you it' actually a bit patronising. Even though you throw a hissyfit insisting it was your line, and talked at length about your pride in it. Thank god you guys spent a weekend making a song (the same song you've made before), you are the heroes, not the guys actually out in Africa attempting to fight the disease. Those people are the heroes, a million times braver than Bono, or Geldof or the vast majority of us (yes, obviously myself included). The arrogance is just staggering.
  21. ALL OF THEM!!! THEY ARE ALL GOING TO GO!!! MELTDOWN!!! WE ARE DOOMED!!!
  22. I don't play classic, I'm not a f*****g casual.
  23. Lot of time for that Pap. Good work. I don't want to inflate your ego, but you've been on point with these of late. Keep it up.
  24. My only problem with Bazza was just the sheer volume of his posting. I mean, he was a plank and a bit of a cretin. But I could accept that (it's not like he's the only one that frequents this site), if he didn't then just have to flood the entire site with his drivel. Every thread was the same, and ended up on the same topic no matter what. It became utterly tedious, the forum was noticeably better when him and Glasgow were banned. In fairness, GS seems to have calmed down a bit now - I barely even notice him. So yeah, maybe restricted posting would be the way to go, he did occasionally provide some entertainment.
