  1. Jesus, your son sounds scarily similar to me. At one point or another I was obsessed with all three of those bands as a teen. I was a semi-decent keeper (some trials/played at county level a couple of times) and in the top sets. Certainly was never popular though.
  2. There's a 13 year old in side me pretty jealous of you UJ. Christ I was an angsty little git. Edit, thinking bout it I was probably younger than that.
  3. Dunno if you know of it already (apologies if so) but @twickets is usually pretty good for this sort of thing. May need to wait closer to the time though.
  4. I want Roche to win just to pïss off Lord D tbh. That and it really is a cracking goal.
  5. Yeah, hard to disagree with this really. I've defended the guy a lot, but sadly I can't see it happening for him here. It's a shame, because there has been times where he has done some great stuff but for one reason or another things have just never clicked into place for him.
  6. I'm not sure, but I thought the writers were of Jewish descent? Not that that necessarily makes it ok, but it can be perceived as more acceptable? Also, it's Family Guy, it is a Comedy show. These shows have to walk that tightrope of 'pushing the boundaries' (I hate that phrase, it is used to apologies for some really crappy stuff), whereas professional footballers/athletes are expected to be a bit more clean cut. Family Guy is aimed specifically at an adult audience, whereas Mario Balotelli is seen as role model for kids due to being a footballer. There's plenty of debate to be had about whether footballers should be role models or not, but that's probably why FG and MB aren't held to the same standards.
  7. 5m Scots is still +10x the Jewish population in the UK. It possibly also helps that they are a nation(ish) on their own as well. Where as I guess Jewish people are seen more as 'outsiders' (this is awfully clunky terminology, sorry about that), which may make it seem a bit more hostile? I don't know, I guess I would agree that there is some historical aspect to it. Jewish peoples have kind of been kicked from pillar to post, never really having their own homeland and often being portrayed as the untrustworthy outsider. I also think the England/Scotland/Wales and to some extent Ireland stuff is almost more like a sibling rivalry (again, probably not the best way of framing it - apologies). There is a long history between the nations and much closer links than what is a relatively small Jewish community. Don't know whether that in itself is right or wrong, but can see why it would be treated like that? To put it another way (also, a bit clunky) I say things to my mates and call them names that I would never say to anything else, or would never let 'random' people get away with. Is there something similar going on here, perhaps?
  8. When I first opened this thread, I could only see to Mario's feet and thought "why all the fuss?". Then I scrolled down. FFS, just come on. Don't be so silly. If it wasn't for the bottom bit it would be fine. Silly boy.
  9. Yeah should be a fun Sunday Sing-a-long. Starting to think Foo Fighters will take one headliner slot. Mac have just been announced for IoW as 'worldwide festival exclusive' - whatever that means? Doesn't look great for a Glasto slot though
  10. Off to Cloud Nothings (again) tonight in Camden. Hopefully the trains won't be too messed up (thanks again TFL). Not keen on Monday night gigs tbh. Oh well, I'll live I'm sure.
  11. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/southampton BBC shows Big Vic as having 2 Yellows. Actually not bad considering the type of player he is.
  12. Agree with the praise for Toby, he really is a class act. Dare I say, probably a class above Saints? I, sadly, don't see him here next season. I don't think we were awful, we came up against a very expensively assembled side, containing lots of very good (and some World Class - Aguero, Yaya & Kompany) players who were really fired up. For 60 or so minutes it was pretty tight, then after the goal & red card - we pushed on a bit and got caught by a couple of sucker punches. Whilst City definitely deserved to win, I'm not sure it was a 3-0 in all honesty. That said, it was disappointing how quiet the front 3 were. Though, their supply was relatively restricted. Not too disheartened, I don't think many teams would have lived with City yesterday. On to Arsenal I guess, would have taken 4 points from these games (being ambitious) as a great result, not changed my stance on that. Points still to be had against Arsenal & Utd, though granted they are both tough games.
  13. Yeah, I'll go along with this. I'd take a slight (by that I mean not pushing the top end but not flirting with relegation either) dip in the league for a run in Europe, even if just for the one season. Can't see any way in which we would be in Europe without domestic form suffering to be honest.
  14. Is this for reals? I really can't tell.
  15. How have we not scored there?!
  16. This isn't really ignoring him though, is it?
  17. Nah, I went Amazon. £299 with Last of Us & Little Big Planet. Not that big into racing games to be honest (I'm useless at them), unless they are Mario/Sonic style kart racers.
  18. WHY DO THEY HATE US SO????!!!?!?!?!! WHHHHHHHYYYYYY???!!!???!!!
  19. Me. That said, I go into most games thinking we'll lose. So a run of City, Arsenal & United is unlikely to be any different.
  20. Nope, saved up all my allowance recently, like a big boy
  21. I'm utterly sick to death with the media bias towards the big clubs, they really do hate us. Look at them doing their best to destabilise us with, errrm, praise. Disgraceful. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/southampton/11260292/Southampton-face-Man-City-Arsenal-and-Man-Utd-next-but-just-how-good-are-Premier-Leagues-Barcelona.html
  22. I got involved Nabbed a PS4 online. Now, will the gf notice if I just set it up whilst she is at work and not mention it?
