Question, what was the reaction like to Shearer leaving? It was a bit before my time, and I don't think I've ever really seen anyone make much mention of it. I'm guessing he wasn't as loathed for it as Lovren/Lallana?

Ah, it's been a while since we had a "I'm a better fan than you thread". Saint Charlie started a few of these within a couple of weeks of each other last season, all good fun. Mostly the same stuff. I'm from London, have little connection to the city other than being taken to the Dell & St Mary's as a kid (more than any other teams stadium anyway), and don't get to as may games as I would like. Worst fan ever

Obviously, it isn't exactly the same but: If Markovic had the guy buy the collar and swung a punch at him, but the other guy ducked out the way. You would still expect a red to be shown. The point being, it is intent that counts. Markovic looked for the man having got clear of him, and then swung a hand (granted limply) toward the other players (I forget his name, sorry) face. Harsh? Possibly, but I can totally understand why he got a red. Besides, Lovren was lucky to stay on the pitch shortly after anyway.

From personal experience I can tell you they really are that harsh. I've spoken at length on here about my time unemployed, and the difficulties I had with the Job Centre in particular. I was sanctioned when I told them I couldn't attend a meeting due to a hospital appointment -at the time of them booking the meeting. I was also later sanctioned for not getting a job after attending an interview the Job Centre set up for me, and 20 other candidates when there was one job on offer. Workers in these places are not there to get people into work, they are there to get benefit bills down. Again, worth remembering that misclaimed benefits accounts for a fraction of what millionaires, billionaires and big companies dodge in tax and fraudulent accounting.

Ok, for clarity - I wasn't trying to say don't write off Mayuka. That one is understandable. Now, you are adding extra addendums. You were also slating Wanyama earlier this season. Well of course you think that about Mané. You were thinking the same of Koeman, Tadic & Pelle before the ink on their contract had signed. It's what you do Windows.
-
Not to mention - but you mention him anyway? So Wanyama, Mayuka & Mané (being written off after what 10 games?) - 1 out of 3. *rollseyes*

Dafuq? I don't think we'll do much in Jan tbh. Not claiming I know anything, just think we'll stick. I don't think we are that bad squad wise, but compared to the teams we are attempting to compete with (i.e. the established 'Top 6') then yes we are weaker. The reasons are obvious, and the ones people hate being mentioned. We don't have the resources and have had a much shorter time at this level to assemble a squad as competitive. I'd say at the minute we are on the right track, though not quite there.

[soundcloud] [/soundcloud] Like this band a lot. Saw them support Cloud Nothings earlier this year and made a proper racket. They also have a member of Hookworms, who are great too.

Aguero is unreal

Saw The Horrors at Astoria 2 when they were all gothy - around the release of their first album. Played the whole album at about 3x tempo - think the set was about 20 mins.

I'm a grumpy old man before my time tbf, understandable.

25, got into them around earlyish '05 so was about 15/16. Yes, I was one of the hipster twåts obsessing over their early demos. I'd act remorseful, but I'm still equally insufferable now.
