  1. I've currently got a ruptured ACL, four months on and it's still effing agony. FACT.
  2. That's not surprising to see really. Seems in keeping with the kind of bloke he comes across as. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Huge respect for the bloke, as someone's that's also had troubles with depression I personally found the work he has done really helpful and inspiring. Seems like an intelligent, honest and decent bloke. Really hope the bloke pulls through. Awful for his family.

  5. Wasn't there a rumour that Arsenal actually paid the £1m transfer fee for us?
  6. Thanks Windows. Haha yes Bear, they are pretty cool.
  7. Couldn't watch the game as I'm in Berlin. Can't believe what I'm reading, great result. Out of interest, how was Reed?
  8. Are you remotely aware of what has been going on at Reading? Was chatting to two Reading fans in the office today and they both say the same. There was little more the bloke could do, his hands have been tied pretty much.
  9. Hehe. Good episode that.
  10. Really glad to hear she's taking steps in the right direction. All the best to her. Look after yourself too, she'll need you for sure.
  11. Considering most parties rely heavily on donations from wealthy benefactors, there is always going to be little political will to really make these changes. They aren't going to bite the hand that feed them. This is where I agree with RB most, to be honest, and it is one of my biggest grievances with UKIP/Farage (which I believe I have stated here before). UKIP are mostly backed by former Tory donors (lol they are so anti-establishment with their former Tory activist/City boy leader, and former Tory MPs etc.), and have relatively well off people standing telling poor people that other poor people are the reason they are poor. It's nothing to do with all the rich kids not paying there way. Definitely not. No slight of hand, look over there going on whatsoever.
  12. He's not an idiot. If he stood, he would pick (or have someone help him pick) a seat sympathetic to him. I would not be remotely surprised to see RB win a seat if he were to stand.
  13. I think to be a comedian (probably true of politicians also) of any success you need at least streak of narcissism.
  14. I figured, but I think what I said is still true. I don't think my dislike for him is solely down to envy. But it would be an outright lie to suggest I'm not remotely envious of him. Well exactly. Personally, I've never liked his comedy a great deal. He's clearly an eloquent chap (I'm definitely jealous of that), and he clearly has talent. My dislike of his 'act' is purely a taste thing. I'm supremely envious of his ability to talk to crowds, I had several speech impediments as a kid and still struggle hideously speaking to anything resembling a crowd. Heck, it would be an outright lie to suggest I'm not envious of his bank balance. I'm not however, envious of his 'fame'. I'm pretty introverted, I like to be left alone. I would hate to be recognised by as many people as I'm sure he is.
  15. The Reading job has been a tough one. There's been no money. Worse than that, the disappearance of the owner has meant they were forced to sell players like Le Fondre to pay their tax bills and stay afloat. He's been forced to play kids this season (including two young and inexperienced CBs in that defeat against Birmingham). Maybe he could have done a bit better, but it's been a fire fighting job in many respects. I'll always love the bloke for what he did at Saints.
  16. I'll admit (and have done) that I don't particularly like him. Though, recently I'm warming to him a bit. Of course I am envious of him.
  17. I'm in no way Brands biggest fan, but some of the attacks of him are frankly pathetic. He's well-off, so cannot support social justice? It's a point he, and others have recently made. "When I was poor and I complained about inequality people said I was bitter, now I'm rich and I complain about inequality they say I'm a hypocrite. I'm beginning to think they just don't want inequality on the agenda because it is a real problem that needs to be addressed."
  18. Ah ok, misunderstanding. Apologies.
  19. Aye, so was Xavi - who ranks him in his greatest British team ever.
  20. Agree, I was a keeper - not to a decent level though, aside like 2 county level games and a couple of trials (no danger of those ever going anywhere - basically I'm not an expert whatsoever). You're pretty spot on imo. As you prepare for a shot, you plant your feet (well, you get on your toes) and bend at your knees ready to 'spring' into a dive to attempt to save the ball. That's why when a ball comes straight at your legs (unless it hits your planted legs) it is so hard to save, you are putting all of your weight onto them to help sring to save the ball. I have no idea where RvP has got those figures from, but you see a disproportionate amount of goals going in through keepers legs. It's not coincidence, strikers no full well this is the hardest area for a keeper to save. I've seen plenty of pundits comment on that too.
  21. He's always seemed like a decent chap in fairness. I've got a lot of Chelsea supporting friends (grew up and lived in West London until a few months ago) and they all liked him. He was never wanting for effort - he just never recovered his pace after his injury and then his confidence was shot. Fair play to him though, he kept plugging away and was never afraid to keep trying things. It's a real shame, as he was an incredible striker a few years ago. As said above, he was often unplayable. He used to play up top on his own, and terrorise Rio & Vidic (one of the best CB pairings in the world at the time). Anyway, can't see him coming here to be honest. Don't really know if it would be a great move for either party. Can see him ending up in the States or something similar.
  22. You're evil. I like it.
  23. Pfft, your place sounds boring
