  1. Very much so. Don't understand this gatekeeper mentality. "You aren't exactly like me so you aren't a real fan, etc." Very much so, more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.
  2. Not if they take him on loan.
  3. I still think Osvaldo would have been in large part down to MP. He must have thought he could manage him, given their productive time together at Espanyol. Never been hugely convinced Gaston was all down to Cortese, can't imagine there would have been no scouting going on there at all.
  4. Guess it was kind of accidental for me. Born and grew up in London. Never really had a team as a kid. Was far more interested in playing than watching, but mostly just supported Beckham. Dad moved to Southampton with his new wife, and took me to the dell to see my hero. I got to see him score, but it was in the 6-3. Grew fond of Saints after that, and when St Marys opened my Dad got a season ticket and started to take me whenever I was down at his. It all just grew from there. Not the most conventional way to get a team, but there you go. I'm an awful plastic, not as good as the rest of the fans. Or something like that.
  5. Oh actually, just realised what I was talking about before was if someone won the Europa League, not CL. I think in that case we may not qualify, as in the case of Spurs/Chelsea in 2012.
  6. Posted about this the other day, I think we would still go through. I'll try find the article again.
  7. 'Arry is welcome to him, should it be true. I'll give Ossie a lift if needs be. Might even get some $$ back for him. I do think it is unlikely, but you just never know with HR & QPR
  8. FFS Lou. All this feminist posturing, and you still go lusting after an effing Goat?! Why else would I do all this if not to catch the eye of the forums most prominent lady poster (obviously). I actually do quite like the goat, so there's me being nice
  9. **Controversial comment** Clint Eastwood's films bore me to death. No inclination to watch another crappy piece of American propaganda that will have all the rich old white dudes of Hollywood falling at the feet of these rich old white dude. Zzzzzz Aye, saw that at the w/e with the gf. Really enjoyed it.
  10. Really loving the Menace Beach album. Will head out and grab a copy this week, hopefully get down and see them next too. http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2015/01/menace_beach_st.html
  11. Maybe setting myself up for a massive fall here, I think Dyche is a good manager. Did a decent job at Watford, used to live close and saw them a few times under him. They played nice stuff. Done a fantastic job in getting Burnley up, and is giving them a fighting chance of staying up.Early days yet, but his record so far suggests he has potential to do ok. On Adkins, it was a crappy way to treat a really decent bloke. Ultimately though, it seems it was the right decision. MP came in and did a very good job. Took a number of players on to a higher level, even if he did act a prat towards the end of his tenure. Then Koeman came in and, well, he looks great. Will still be thankful to Nige though, his L1 & Championship seasons were great fun. Being a Saints fan hadn't been that enjoyable in a long while, so I'll always have a soft spot for him and his unwavering positivity.
  12. Sir Rickie, with Fonte a closely run second. Massive mancrush on the pair of them. I don't care that Rickie is gone, he is still a hero, as Fry said I shan't be getting over him anytime soon. I also hold no ill feelings towards him for going to Liverpool, I can't honestly say I wouldn't have done the same in his position. Koeman has made a cracking start, if he stays and carries on in a similar vein he may well get himself into the reckoning. What he has done this season, against the backdrop of the summer is stunning. I said yesterday, for me, Koeman has been the best signing in the league this season.
  13. Cracking result. Dug in well, with some big names missing. The solidity Koeman has got into the team is so impressive. He is the signing of the season for me at the minute.
  14. Another woodwork struck for Pellè, wasn't he already top (or joint) in the league for that 'honour'?
  15. He really does have an incredible leap. *springs in his legs cliché* I'm liking him too. Needs to not be thought of as a striker, as he doesn't play there a great deal. Offers a lot, even if it isn't always goals.
  16. Can't imagine doubling his money hurts either like.
  17. Looking forward to giving that one a listen. On a different vibe, really want these boys back in my life:
  18. Also, he really is the clichéd "if he isn't scoring he offers nothing" type striker. Not saying he's a bad player, but if goals dry up he brings little else. Our success so far this season has very much been about the team. Pellè may not be the most prolific, but you cannot knock the guys endeavour. I'm unsure you'd get that from Defoe.
  19. Was chatting to a very silly Man Utd fan at the pub the other day (in fairness he may have been slightly tipsy, but certainly not hammered). When talking about football and Saints, and the upcoming Utd v Saints game: Him: "The table is a bit false still, you've played all the easy teams" Me: "We're 20 games into the season, we have played everyone in the league. Easy and hard teams" Him: "Well yeah, but you're only so high up the table because you've won so many games" Me: " Yes, that is how a league table works"
  20. It may well be something along the lines of a footballing Godwin's law, but when people talk about players being too short all I can think of is this guy (5"6): Granted it may be a bit different for defenders instead of attackers. Ultimately, it's talent not physical stature.
  21. Thanks mate, appreciate that. May take you up on it.
  22. These guys are unbelievable athletes. I ache watching a single play.
  23. Ah, thank you Smirks. I was worried for a while my career terrorising 5-a-side teams down goals was over. You've given me renewed hope for my reconstruction next month
  24. Aye, don't get me wrong. From what I know of the bloke (not a HUGE amount by any stretch) he's not exactly a great dude. But it is interesting that whilst everyone is banging the drum for the importance of Free Speech, a bloke is jailed for what he says. It's almost as Freedom of Speech doesn't equal Freedom from Consequence. It's interesting how Freedom of Speech is of utmost importance to defend, yet 'outsiders' are never quite afforded the same protection.
