Osvaldo joins Boca Juniors on loan
KelvinsRightGlove replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I know, I know football isn't real life. But it is really frustrating watching people act in that manner and carry on getting exactly what they want. Didn't he talk about wanting to play for Boca within about a week of signing? -
Your guess is as good as mine. Just google image searched, that and this thread came up.

Probably not all that helpful, so advanced apologies Bear. I haven't yet, but my mates that have watched it say it is was pretty funny and had quite a few nods to Breaking Bad. Will probably try catch up at the weekend. (for reference, these are the same mates I watch It's Always Sunny with)

Started watching Dexter with the gf a few weeks ago. Finished series 2 the other night. It is quite enjoyable, but I'm not sure if I'll get through all 8 series. It is so ridiculous from the get go, it's hard to see where it can go before it all gets too much. I guess whilst it's beneficial to binge watch, starting a show so late does kind of remove the jeopardy somewhat. I don't want to give away too much, but you can kind of tell he is likely to escape the closing net in the first few series, and you can pretty much guess that certain main characters aren't going to die (especially when they are still in the promo shots from later on).

Been enjoying this so far. Loved the nod to Utopia the other night with the "Where is Jessica Hyde T-Shirt?"
-
Oh ok then. Yeah, I haven't got the slightest bit of inclination to play this game with you. Read the articles, it tells you. He posted about it plenty on social media - feeds which have been taken down as a result of events. I'm not going to go digging around the net to find archives of an alleged murderers Facebook feed. I look forward to your similar demands of proof that the next terrorist act was indeed carried out by Muslims.
-
You mean, like the very small number of people that carry out attacks - yet paint all people of the same religion evil terrorists? Look at the Charlie Hebdo thread, this isn't a strawman.
-
Well according to the articles, he himself described himself as such.

You can pretend to be me, if you like? The leap from this: to this: Isn't so big.

Palma Violets were very fun, also very sweaty. New stuff sounded good as well. Saw Interpol at the Roundhouse last Saturday, bloomin brilliant. Off to The Cribs at Electric Ballroom tomorrow. Cramming them all in before having to be off my feet for a while

I've given him a lot of crap in the past, but I think I'm really warming to him. I think it's mostly to do with how rattled he's got LvG. Top troll.

Really horrible, such a young and happy looking family. See the alleged killer is an atheist. Therefore, as an atheist I am apologising and renouncing this mans actions. This is not what I represent, these actions were not taken in my name. I assume Richard Dawkins, Stephen Fry and all other atheists will shortly do likewise yes? As this is what we demand.

This pretty much sums up what I, and I think Lou though I don't want to put words into her mouth, have been getting at. It's the varying perceptions of the people involved. I'm not buying this "oh the story is about her, that's why I'm calling her a slag" crap. It's utter nonsense wrapped up as an excuse to attack a woman for being involved in a consensual act between a man and woman. I don't mean to single you out, or attack you personally UJ - and I genuinely apologise if it comes across that way, but this is a good example of what I am trying to get at. Why should the perception of either party be different? Why should 'you come to expect it from blokes', or have a 'lower promiscuity factor than women' - you recognise yourself the inconsistency in attitudes towards the two people involved, based on their gender. Before talking about how much of a slapper she is, but not him. Look, I'm not exactly extolling the virtues of getting hot and heavy in the toilets of a nightclub. It's not something I've done, or will likely ever do. But, the reactions highlight some of the broader issues in attitudes towards men and women. Everyone jumps to call her a bint, slag, slapper etc. If she dares say that she's upset at being filmed, it's her own fault. Again, this is nonsense, as with every single person who has made this stupid argument they don't seem to be so happy for someone to film them using the toilet (quite right too). Just because they are 'public toilets' (named so because they are open to use by the public at large, as opposed to private toilets used only by you or your guests in your home), doesn't mean you would expect anyone and everyone to have a good gander at what you are doing, and share it round to anyone. It's the exact same ploy used against the victims of the photo hackings recently, who were mostly but not entirely female - "Well, if you didn't want your photo's all over the internet, you shouldn't have taken them". It's bullsh!t, and it's just yet another in a long history of men dictating what women should or should not do, and absolving their own ****ty actions. There's little blame or even worry that people are hacking people's phones, accessing and distributing private, intimate photographs. But, hey, these women are taking provocative photographs they are whores, they practically deserve this. This attitude is damaging to everyone. Men and women. The ideas of what makes a man, and what makes a woman and any deviation from this makes you weird, or gay, or slag, or slapper etc places great pressure on men or women to act in a narrowly defined manner. It is bad for everyone.

Yet more DWP inflicted horror stories. 49 suicides/deaths of benefits claimants, with that number suspected to be “a gross under-representation of the true numbers”. Pretty shocking really. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/feb/10/benefits-sanctions-malcolm-burge-suicides?CMP=fb_gu Yes, KRG is a soppy naive liberal etc etc

This did remind me of one of Rafa's meltdowns. I almost miss him just for those. -
Nah, I've got two left feet. Can't dance to save my life.

Love that Gagarin track they have been playing on 6music recently. Keen for that album.

I don't have exact figures to hand, but in a lot if not most constituencies a candidate does not get the majority of votes, they get the most. More people voted against the Tories (and Lib Dems combined) than voted for them. So it isn't the majority that gets what they want.
-
No, the country voted no to AV. Which as Pap and I have said, is a system nobody wanted. The country was not given a vote for "Do you want change?" or "What system would you like?".
-
Well, we were given the choice between a system nobody actually wanted and the current system. Not an actual choice of which system people would actually want.
-
Meh, it was alright. Likeable enough, nothing special though. Kind of fits in with my general feelings on Hot Chip to be honest.
-
They just had the new Hot Chip track on 6music, TC is gonna hate it

Does seem a tad harsh, but it's a stupid thing to do.
