  1. Who are you arguing with? No-one is disagreeing.
  2. Even if she did, can't imagine she'd be that interested in coming. Also, he isn't the bad player that people make out. He never had pace in his peak, he was a real worker - and knew where to put himself. Also, his passing/crossing and set pieces are second to none.
  3. Yes, it was also true when you mentioned it on the match thread and the thread you started on the subjected. It's a fair point, granted. But, does it really need to be repeated on every other thread? We get it, you don't want Gazza in the team.
  4. Certainly wouldnt say we are/will be better than Stoke over a season. Can't stand them or Pulis, would (Keegan Style) love it if they went down. So bored of their "let's have a team of giants and constantly pump it into the box" approach, but for all that - it works, and will continue to do so. They aren't going to pull up any trees, but they will be fine again, just continuing to grind out points. Seems odd that you have said maybe Villa, when I would think Stoke, Norwich & Sunderland are probably better sides than them. At the minute I would say the main contenders for the drop are us, QPR, Reading & Villa. Though, Sunderland could be dragged into this, if they don't start to improve. The Geordies could be in serious trouble if they can't find a solution to their injury woes, which is not going to be helped by the impending African Cup of Nations. This will have a massive impact on them.
  5. Saints are in the Premiership, Brighton are in the Championship
  6. Think Dawson would be available, though would bet it is more than likely he'll be off to cosy up with Saggyface once more.
  7. I fear you think this is directed solely at you, this was certainly not the case. It was more a general comment in reference to a much larger group of posters that were everywhere on here just a few weeks back and have yet suddenly gone rather quiet.
  8. Completely agree with this. I guess my point was kind of that knee-jerk reactions shouldn't be made based on a few games/performances (good or bad). A coouple of poor performances doesn't mean we are certs to go down, just like a few good performances doesn't mean we will definitely stay up. I'll get off the fence and say I think we will stay up, though it will be a slog with plenty more ups and downs to come. I think some people were over-the-top in criticising excessively the team and Adkins. The green shoots are certainly there, and if these performances can be backed up, and with a couple of quality additions in January I am confident we can stay up - with Adkins in charge. Of course the team absolutely need to work hard to prevent more performances like those against Wigan/West Ham, but we have seen that is possible.
  9. Can't knock the 4 we have up top at the moment, some really good performances of late. Though, it has to be said that would be a rather tasty front four, with pretty much everything between them.
  10. My new BFF Turks! You are being uncharacteristically upbeat today, I rather like it. It's funny how hard it is for some to admit they may have over-reacted. Only a few weeks ago (pre-Swansea/WBA - where despite the result the performance was better, and yes, they are a good side that are deservedly sitting well placed in the table) the usual merchants of doom & despair were posting at alarming rates of how the season was over, relegation was a certainty, the defensive woes were incurable, and come January we would be too far adrift to do anything in the window to save ourselves. A couple of decent wins on the bounce coupled with a good performance against Swansea and things look a fair bit brighter. I don't think the tactics were ever that questionable, and the defensive errors were just that, errors. These cannot be coached for. They are not tactical errors, Adkins would hardly coach players to do these things. The tactics aren't all that different, neither is the shape. Having Corky back certainly helps, as he is more suited to the role he plays than some of the other players played in CM in his absence. Yes it probably also does help that we are now not playing teams who expect to be competing at the top of the table. The mongs who seem to think that good performances and narrow losses against these sides are so worrying, should really take a reality check. There is a reason they are challenging at the top year on year, whilst a number of our side have been playing in lower divisions in recent years. It's funny how quiet certain posters have been the last few weeks. Also looking at the revived historic threads, it comes as no surprise to see it is often the same old people spouting the same old story. Does give me confidence that we will stay up, seeing as you guys seem to be wrong more often than you are right. Not that any of you would admit it.
  11. As has been, rightly, mentioned already, Gaston offers a lot more to our team and set up. Both are very good players, with potential to be top players in Europe. I think Gaston is slightly ahead of Oxo right now, but he does have a couple of years on him. I still think Oxo is a bit raw, too much power, pace & enthusiasm. All great attributes, but he isn't finished yet - which really suggests how good he can be. In my opinion, Gaston is more accomplished at this moment. Seems a bit more composed and patient, with a greater ability to really control and influence a game. However, I don't doubt that in his own way, Oxo will also be capable of this in time. I also don't get the Theo bashing that goes on. He made a big impact for us as a 16 year old playing through the middle. He wants to play through the middle, as he has repeatedly stated, and that is clearly his best position. Played centrally, his pace will worry any defender. This will cause them to sit deeper, so as not to leave space in behind. For a team like Arsenal, or even us with our Midfield, this is valuable as it allows more space to play with the ball. Theo is also a decent finisher, as he has been showing this year. His treatment from Wenger has been pretty shoddy in my opinion, and he progress has undoubtedly been hampered by Arsene, not the first time this has happened to a young player moving to the Arse. Just my opinion, but I still believe Theo can be a very good player if used correctly, he clearly isn't a winger.
  12. Haha b*gger, right you are. Now looking at another game, with express in the title.
  13. Spot on. Check us in agreement, eh Turks
  14. Got a mate really into this lot with this track. He saw them at Leeds Festival and said they were fantastic, could see them as potential festival headliners he said. Have to say I was a bit disappointed with the album, but only really gave it the one listen so perhaps being a little harsh.
  15. For anyone that likes mobile games, I have to look at a lot for work, you should really really check out this one. Free on iOS, it's perhaps not the greatest or most challenging game ever. But it looks and sounds amazing. Certainly worth losing yourself in for a bit.
  16. When I watch Gaston, (when things go right mind) it just seems as if he is in slow motion. I know this isn't a great description, and probably something of a cliche, but that's just how it seems to me. He seems to be able to control, steady himself, look around and act effortlessly whilst others are flapping all around him. I may be getting slightly carried away, but I really think this young man has the potential to become a real world beater.
  17. Fonte, cork and Punch all decent shouts. Has to be Gaston for me. Where are all those saying he wasn't up to much now by the way?
  18. Gaston is a bad boy
  19. Missing the point entirely, but that's not unlike you is it. I at no point compared the two. You stated how important it is to be liked for business to take place, I gave one example (of thousands possible) where this is not the case. Coming from the king of the mong board, I'll take that as a compliment. Besides, I find it highly unlikely that Cortese actually fields calls in relation to corporate boxes, I'm confused as to when they came the be all and end all to a club anyway, and their potential sales. I'd imagine in a multi-million pound company with a multi-millionaire CEO, there would be someone to deal with these issues. If only we had a multi-millionaire business man around here that might know?
  20. But the kit is awful and shows the chairman has no respect for the clubs history FFS.
  21. Do you think junkies like their dealers? Do they still buy their products? Supply and demand. Two of the most basic principles in business. Business still occurs whether people like who they are dealing with or not. I'm sure at times you have dealt with people you dislike, I'd bet it's fairly safe to say that not everyone you have dealt with likes/d you. So yes, if you say business wont occur unless everyone likes you, then I am calling you naive.
  22. That's an extremely naive view.
  23. That's also forgetting what Saints offer to local companies. As I understand it, the championship is still one of the best supported leagues in Europe, so from an advertising view Saints are an attractive prospect and people will still want to advertise via Saints. Whether they like the Chairman or not is not a consideration, it's the market and amount of people that can be reached that matters. If people only did business with people they liked, or even respected, then not much business would ever get done ever. In the business world, business comes before personal relationships.
  24. This reflecting badly on the club thing. Most other non-saints footy fans I speak to have no idea who Cortese is, or much of what goes on at the club.
