  1. It's just a thought, not one I'm entirely convinced of myself - Just to be clear IM NONT SAYING WE SHOULD 100% DO THIS. But, I'm curious if Shaw could be pushed on to LW, with Foxy in behind him. Shaws defensive instincts may mean he'd leave foxy less exposed? Gaston is clearly wasted out wide. It was instantly noticeable when he moved back inside at the cottage, everything started to go through him. Even if those horrible thugs were doubling on and kicking lumps out of the guy. Anyways, just a thought.
  2. I noticed this. Was a bit disturbing. I have no confidence in any of them to be honest. Was initially pleased with Borucs signing, but didn't have a great start, and is clearly out of favour for a reason. I do believe Gazza has potential, but probably isn't ready yet. Kelvin, well, I love the bloke, he's been a fantastic servant to the club. He's played a massive part in our ascent in recent years, but he's just not up to the prem. it's costing us too many points now.
  3. Yeah maybe I'm being a tad harsh, I don't think he played poor. Just a bit infuriating at times. Cannot believe how assured and resolute Shaw looks at Left-back. He looks the real deal at the minute.
  4. Think we bossed the large majority of the game. First half we looked a bit shaky at the back. All their chances came from us doing something silly with the ball. Yoshi looked absolutely shockingly bad first half, constantly just just hoofed the ball out of play, or played a pass straight to the oppo. Davis had a shocker again for the goal, didn't have much else to do. 2nd half was much better. Gaston moving in to the middle caused them all sorts of trouble. Fulham were playing like thugs doubling up on him, and just kicking him over. Punch just always took too many touches, it's like he has to beat his man twice. So frustrating. All in all a good point. Good battling away second half, never gave up.
  5. Saints fans sound amazing
  6. Frustrating half that. Ref is awful, from where we are sat looked a defo booking for berba, bottled that. Yoshi is having a stinker. Amazing how punch can blow hot and cold in one half. Shaw looks class.
  7. I think it's a shame he was brought down for that pen against Villa. A goal early on (career wise I mean) could have done his confidence a world of good, Strikers are often confidence players - Torres? I see they have added the next instalment this morning - going up to #40. By my reckoning, we should have at least Rickie, Lallana, Gaston & Morgan in the top 40. Decent.
  8. Having moved around a bit as a kid I didn't really have a firm team til I was about 12/13. My grandad took me to QPR for my first ever game (a lifelong R's fan, rest his soul) against Swindon in the 96/97 season. Once his health started to go, and he couldn't handle a proper stadium, he used to take me to Maidenhead games, as he lived just up the road in Taplow. Funny really, following my Dad moving to Southampton, my first Saints game was shortly after....that 6-3 against Utd. I have to admit, I was only really taken as I was a bit Beckham mad back then (ok I still love the guy). Over the new few years I saw a lot more of Saints and grew to love the club. It seemed to make sense to support the team I actually saw live the most. If things had turned out different, I probably could have ended up a QPR fan. Prior to Flavio, ernie, warlock, Hughes, fernandes, Harry etc.. I always had a soft spot for them. Can't stand them now mind.
  9. My gut feeling (based on no information at all really) is that he will leave in the summer. I feel that too much has gone on, and both parties will be happy to call it quits. This may explain his upturn in form of late. As I say, just a gut feeling. I could be way off the mark, which wouldn't exactly be a first.
  10. One that really jumps to mind there is Freddy Adu.
  11. What I find really odd about this is that Mayuka had to be in someone's top 30 players in the world. Seems bizarre, considering he can't even get into Saints first XI.
  12. Get him on the bus!!
  13. I think it should be noted that when going back to comparative spends last season - you should take into account where both sides were the year before. Saints L1 - West Ham Prem.
  14. It's one of those 'hard to judge' scenarios, especially with his deal being up in the summer. We'll probably never know entirely what the situation is behind the scenes regarding his relation to the club. Is £2m that bad for someone that may potentially walk away for nothing a few months later? Out of interest, I forget what we paid for the guy? Was it a few hundred k? Wouldn't be the worst piece of business ever if it did happen, not that I am saying I would like this to be the case.
  15. I'm truly sorry for your mothers passing. I genuinely had no idea (not knowing you personally, how would I?), but I really was not making any sort of joke at her expense, why on earth would I? In fairness, I never said anything about her ashes. Being the great multi-millionaire business man you tell me you are I'm pretty sure you get this really. At no point did I make any reference to anyone ****ing anyone's ashes. Though dealing in reality, instead of hyperbole isn't exactly a strong suit of yours, is it? Since when did you have such a large moral high horse to laud it over everyone else from? Or is this the larger message of this thread? I'm dull, I dislike anyone having fun unless I personally approve of it. You are all shameful, vulgar and disgusting. But, back to the original point, I don't see why people who think it is a bit of fun to dress up or be a bit silly is so offensive to you. Or as you say is so embarrassing? I hardly see how this brings shame to the club or the city? So what if people find this fun or amusing, why does it have to bother you so? Is it a Zenit style 'forcing down the throat' of Xmas that displeases you so? As I said before, if you don't see it as fun, or amusing; fair enough, that is your prerogative. As I also said, it isn't for me either. But who made you the arbitrator of entertainment? Since when was it your decision of what people can or can't do to have some fun on their days off? I really, really fail to see how anyone can get so upset by this?
  16. It's effectively the case of the ninnies on here, proving what we all already no - they don't want Saints to win. We are in the Prem at present - wanting us to not be there means you want us to get relegated which equates to not winning games. Wanting us to be in the Champ/L1 - means we would not be winning that many games as we would be perpetual Play-Off fodder/losers or mid-table obscurity. Discussion over. let's see how many bites that gets...
  17. Some people enjoy it. Personally, I wouldn't do it. But I really don't see what harm it is doing to anyone. It's christmas, and people like to celebrate by wearing silly things like Santa Hats or Reindeer ears. Again, I wouldn't be doing it, but I can't see how it can bother you so much. If people are enjoying it, and it's not hurting anyone - then what's the problem? Is this rooted to something deeper? Did Santa sneek into your room as a kid? Did you catch him with mummy one night?
  18. People having a laugh, and enjoying their day out, which they have spent (a reasonable amount) of their hard-earned cash on is embarrassing to the club? This thread is more embarrassing, some people need to get a sense of humour.
  19. A mate recommended this to me, worth getting then?
  20. Don't really blame the guy. I'm not an expert on the SA team, but he must be one of, if not their best players?
  21. Hate to say it, but I think Joey Barton has every right to feel aggrieved on this one. A clear headbutt, punch and elbow in three separate instances. Arguably worse than what Joey did, which was all one heat-of-the-moment thing. Marouane is a very, very lucky man in my opinion.
  22. I think (could be wrong) that he may have retired.
  23. Crisp man out!
  24. Great minds, we were clearly thinking the same thing at the same time. (post #11)
  25. Just a thought, if Rickie was suspended/injured/dropped and J-rod starts that would bring the avg age down to 22.81.
