Fair enough points, specially this blog. I don't like him, and still think he's vile. Some of the 'jokes' he's made about disabled people and his subsequent reactions have been in pretty poor taste. As I say I don't like him. On the other points, I agree. I'm not saying the implication or application of what I said is perfect (far effing from it), and you have pointed out some of the reason why. I guess, I may be slightly battered from having spent too much time staring into a **** storm of awfullness the past few months and seeing free speech used as a justification for this. I particularly agree with your last point, the seems to be much confusion of this. Free speech does not, and should not, equate to freedom from consequence.

Well, he clearly has a stake in this. I've said before I've got no time for him, he's vile. I get it's the job of a comic to push boundaries, or be edgy or other such clichés. There's certainly space for this, and there are comics that do this I enjoy. I think though, if you are doing this you should have a point to it. Boyle never does this, he's offensive for the sake of being offensive, it's lazy. I've said before I tire of free speech defences of things, which was met with some disdain. Truth is free speech never has been free, and always comes with caveats. The point of free speech is also often totally overlooked. Especially online. Free Speech comes from the democratic right to question, and hold governments to account. Not people who use it to say vile things, and turn round and say FREEZE PEACH!!! And moan that others are offended, it's nonsense. Just don't be an asshole, why go out of your way to p!ss people off? I'd argue quite the opposite to Boyles conclusion, we've put too much status in being a tosser, and deliberately hurting people.

Thanks for this gents, appreciated. Sounds like the games will suit me, I'm a fan of more narrative driven games. I really wish some quality film/tv or print writers would get involved with games. Be the soppy git I am, I want some touching stories, he'll I want a game that will make me cry. Telltale are great, I'd love to meet some of the folks there, heck maybe even work with them one day. Really looking forward to see what they do on their future projects working on their own IP. Anyways, I'll stop before I totally hijack the to thread with games chat. I'll be sure to crack on with both.

You're both v welcome, glad you liked it. As I say I don't know them too well, but enjoyed this. As for B&S Bletchley, I'm in the same boat. Let us know how they are. Would love to go out and catch them. I actually wore played my Boy With The Arab Strap cd until it stopped working. Ah man they were great. They're really back on form. I like El Pintor, the songs do work really well live, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

This does make me laugh. In fairness, Can does look a player. Annoyingly, Livrpool are starting to look pretty darn good, as are Spurs and Arsenal. That (yes I know) 'race for fourth' should be pretty interesting.

Deserved posting, wasn't sure where, so here will do http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/wayne-rooney-says-he-will-team-up-with-stone-cold-steve-austin-to-face-bad-news-barrett-and-prestons-kevin-davies-at-wrestlemania-10053614.html

Morgan is of in the summer. Think p much everyone knows that. Just think he's been unlucky with a couple of injuries (of which he hasn't really had many since getting to the Prem) and he 'took one for the team' against Chelsea. I wouldn't read too much into it. It's true to say he's missed more than usual, but purely because he has played most games the past few seasons. Can't really say I've seen this apparent disinterest this season either. Considering he clearly wanted to leave, he's been a pro. Judging by the Sheff Utd game, all the players want out.

Really happy about this. Love Dave Grohl, and have never managed to catch Foos. Think they'll be a great headliner. Now, please not Coldplay or Florence. -
Haha, in that case I shall definitely get involved. I want to play the games, which are also meant to be fantastic, but I'm not sure which order to do it in. I feel similar with you and BB. Second half of series 4 and all series 5 are on I really just cannot get into this. I think I've watched the first 5/6 eps about 3 occasions and it does nothing for me. It's clearly a good show, I must be weird.

Duhh, you're a woman, on the Internet.
-
Nope, he isn't. He's said so himself in interviews at the time last summer. Words to the effect of "I'm not involved in transfers, that's Les Reed's job. I'm just the hockey guy". Aye, we are really struggling like.

Lot of time for band stalking Bletch, I've done it myself. You should come over here more often. The Decemberists were in session on 6music this morning, it's here, if you missed it. Quite enjoyed it, only know a little bit of their old stuff. I've got a lot of love for Belle & Sebastian too.

No way will Clyne match Shaw's fee.

So at the time of writing, he was 16?

Liverpool all day long for me. The fans, Lovren, Lallana and Rodgers. Cannot stand any of them. After Rodgers comments last summer, I would take 7th if it meant finishing above them. Yes, I know that is bitter and petty and immature. I care not one bit.
-
Yup
-
Yeah, maybe. I'm still not entirely sure how much more could be done. There were a lot of people out solely for themselves, and I guess with so much in the air it was hard to control all the variables. Not knowing what Poch was upto, Lallana & Lovren acting like utter bells, etc. Sure, learn from mistakes but I still don't think it was as bad as some make out. That's not to say I wasn't worried about what was happening, I'm just not sure there is much any club could do in the situation we were in.
-
Yep, can't disagree with that. If Clyne does go the summer we'll have had 3 solid seasons out of a very good player, who has caused no trouble and will most likely see very decent profit. What would he go for, c. £15m? That's at least £10m profit (I'm assuming there was a sell on % in the deal). Likewise with Vic, would be good to keep him around. That part of the pitch is so key for us, we are so much stronger there than most other teams in the league. Really think that continuity (even if not both available all the time) has helped manage the transition from last year. So, yeah as you say, it would be important to keep him around. That said I do seem to recall him saying something similar about us effectively being a stepping stone, not always what we want to hear but I do understand it. Again, I imagine he he was to go, we'd at least see another tidy profit. Not that that is the most important thing, but it's good for the health of the club.
-
Thanks.

Tricky with Vic, what's he got left 2 years? Would be some coup getting him to sign up again. Could probably hold him one more year, not too sure how he would react to having a move blocked though. Fair play to Morgan really, he clearly wanted out last summer, but has been a total pro on the pitch this season. As long as he does do a load of Lallana-esque interviews when he goes I'll hold nothing against Morgan going to a big team, picking a hefty pay bump and winning some trophies. He's easily a good enough player to do so.
-
Maybe not 6 or 7, but I think lost year we last 4 key players and one potentially key player in a position where we had an equally (slightly better imo) option, i.e Clyne. I don't think I'm alone in thinking Morgan is already gone. There's talk Clyne will be off, JRod possibly as well. Can't see Toby sticking around either. I'd say that would be about the same as last summer in terms of players, probably more likely to keep Koeman though (I bloody hope so at least). That said, I'd be surprised if there was the same level of widespread panic. After last summer, we know we are a strong enough club to survive.
-
Sorry, I see how you got to that. I didn't mean you specifically, but there was plenty of vitriol thrown his way over the summer.
-
The numerous threads you've started throughout the season. When the big guns come circling again, it'll have nothing to do with Ralph, same as last summer.
