Trying to avoid the above post, don't want to know anything about it yet! Not strictly watching yet, but seen Idris Elba tweeted today that he's back filing the new Luther mini-series. Bloody excited for that, one of my favourite shows, so well done. Only downside being having to watch the gf swoon incessantly every time Mr Elba is on screen. Which is a lot.

No doubt about that. Overseas students are very good business. Universities and 'business' are desperate to keep them too.
-
Cant edit for some reason, fund is probably the wrong word there. More like plug or fill. Universities would be far worse off without overseas students.
-
You mean overseas students that pay higher fees and help fund the shortfall that domestic students create? Even the much heralded Australia with their immigration system is desperate for overseas students.
-
 Ah yes, of course. Having moved on from the "we're not the racists, everyone else is" UKIP line. We now see the, "well actually, we want to close to borders for the good of the other countries".

This gig season is crippling my wallet. Garbage just announced for Brixton in November! http://www.nme.com/news/garbage/83220?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=avaluna

Funny that, he's had a 360 since about '07. Last Playstation he owned was a ps2. Same for me, prior to the ps4 I'd had a 360. I really love it.
-
Found it quite interesting this weekend. A friend came over to see how I was doing post-op, and as the gf was out we spent most of the day playing on the p4 (shut up we are grown ups). He bought an Xbox one last year and has pretty much almost given up on it. He loved the ps4, and was pretty annoyed he's bought the wrong console. Felt quite vindicated.

That's effing disgusting btw.

Yeah but pap, someone got stabbed in Britain at some point. So, there's that.

If you weren't sure, you could have y'know asked? Instead of strawmanning and putting arguments in mouth. But yes, it is unfair. The scenario's aren't the same. If you read my other posts you'd see I'd say the EU isn't without problems and does need major reform. That doesn't negate the fact the comparing EU and Non-EU migration in that manner is false equivalence.
-
I didn't say a word of that. But carry on.
-
Yes, that is totally what I said. All of it.
-
I can understand disillusionment with the EU, absolutely. Whilst I am a supporter of it in theory, and would certainly not like us to leave, I do think it is dire need of massive reform. Serious discussions need to be had about it's future and what form that will take. With that, I'm totally with you. As I said, I'm just trying to highlight some of the reasons the "Why Romania, not Canada" (paraphrased) argument isn't exactly flawless itself.
-
That's not to say the EU is perfect, or that we 100% benefit in every single way.
-
I've posted this before, but with things as they are, it's false equivalence to compare people coming from outside the EU to those moving within the EU. Like or loathe the EU, there are benefits to being within it. We do still get some pay outs for certain things, regional development fund for example has had a very beneficial impact on certain parts of the country. Countries such as Canada, Australia etc do not help with these things.

Nobody is going to walk in and take anything away from us. Again, I got mine so f everyone else. My relatives had a better life than yours, so I should have better life than yours. Nevermind much of the infrastructure, both physical and social has been built on immigrants, like the entire history of Britain.

'Found them', or I'm selling them.

More than anything, I don't see Ashely buying Koeman out. I thought part of the reason they appointed Carver til the end of the season was that there was no-one available that was out of contract. What have Ashley's appointments been? I think Big Sam was already in place when he came in? Then Keegan, who I think was out of work. Then Kinnear, out of work. Hughton, promoted from within. Shearer, out of work (well, 'cept for punditry). Hughton. Pardew, recently sacked by some mugs. See a pattern here? I may be wrong, spectacularly wrong. But history suggests it would be an extremely out of character appointment from Ashley.

GUISE!!! It was all like totally a joke.

Found one of the Mourinho articles btw, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/10991879/Jose-Mourinho-says-signing-Luke-Shaw-from-Southampton-would-have-killed-Chelsea.html There's plenty more a quick google search will throw up. It's mad money, but that is football in a nutshell. All the money is crazy.
-
It was pretty widely reported that was the figure. Mourinho even said it was why Chelsea weren't going to bother trying to sign him.
-
So p much exactly what I said, that you took issue with.
-
So you wouldn't like the things we did to be done to us? Does that mean you despise your ancestors who created the society you live in?
