  1. Shame the way his departure was handled, but it may well have been the right decision. Always been nothing short of a class act, something his successor could perhaps have taken some cues on. Hope he gets a decent job soon and does well again ('cept against Saints).
  2. My guess would be around £15m mark. As I say, that's a guess no inside info whatsoever.
  3. There seems to be something rotten at the core of that club. Keane, Bruce, O'Neil, Di Canio (granted he was a header) are all big characters that have been worn down there. Bruce and O'Neil aren't bad managers, and both have struggled. The recruitment has been shocking for a while, there seems to be a bad atmosphere from the club. Hard to see what the quick fix there is, or who can help them. I'd be seriously worried about this season if I was a Sunderland fan at the minute.
  4. The constitution is v important. That's why the 8th amendment is there, to prevent the govt strapping people to a chair and then either electrocute them to death or inject them with a substance that paralyses them then systematically shuts down every organ in their body. Or y'know Guantanamo. Thank god for the constitution protecting the citizens of the US from "cruel or unusual punishment". http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1998/42/contents
  5. I like that there are a couple of UKIPpers that seem v angry bout this at the top of my twitter search at least. Yet, weren't so about Nigel "UKIP MEPs won't employ wives" Farage. Suzanne Evans ‏@SuzanneEvans1 3h3 hours ago Labour MP Sarah Champion claims to be different? Fact she claimed a £17 poppy wreath on expenses suggests not
  6. Was thinking that myself. I do miss Rickie for this very reason, when we got a pen when he was on the pitch you knew it was a goal. No question.
  7. Don't care what anyone says, Rooney is quality. Granted, Spurs have been really, really poor but he took that v well. Should start upfront over RVP & Falcao all day every day.
  8. Think it's partly a case of better than Lambert, and better than Poyet.
  9. En route to another 8-0 here. Has a team been done 8-0 twice in the PL?
  10. There was talk that it wasn't a first offence, at the time. Obviously, these rumours were never confirmed so it may be just talk. There was also the incident up at St James' just before too. He also didn't help himself much in the summer by p much going AWOL.
  11. Eeek, don't toy with me like that! I'm not going to get my hopes up until it's done. Would be made up if he stays, but still think it's unlikely.
  12. I like Dalston, loads of cool places there. Went to a funky little Mexican place a while back. Did you ever go to Street Feast there?
  13. Keep plugging away Mikey, you'll get that Oscar you so deserve one day.
  14. BFFs 4 lyf! It was of course some impostor, there's only one real Mikey round here. How's it going dude, you've been quiet lately. Fun weekend lined up?
  15. Very good news indeed. Cheers for passing on.
  16. That's very promising. Surprised to hear that, as I feel he could comfortably get game time at a team higher than us in the football hierarchy. As Windows rightly says, the agreed price is ridiculously low for a player of his quality. I'd be happy for the club to pay above that if it meant securing his services permanently. Would hope he had a better season staying fit though!
  17. It's probably a bit more than an insinuation, really.
  18. Oh no, am I doing this thread wrong too? Congrats on your new job, that is excellent news As someone who experienced I a prolonged period of unemployment I know what a relief it is to get a new job. Enjoy your celebrations and the rest of your weekend.
  19. Thanks, Bucks. Your friendliness and advice is appreciated, i shall try to take this on board Next time I get to a game, which I must confess is no where near as often as I would like, I shall see who is around and say hello.
  20. I hope so. KRG is v pro-hugs. Hugs for all!
  21. Ah, sounds most pleasant. Hope you have a good one
  22. There's something awry at Arsenal. For all his potential, Wilshere really hasn't kicked on as you would have hoped either. Every year they seem to have injury, after injury. I can't remember the exact figures, but they were chatting on talksh!te about it at the tail end of last season. They added up the total days of players being out injured and compared all the teams at the top and Arsenal were by far and away the worst in that regard. I thought Arsenal had specifically hired someone last summer to try and improve this situation. I forget, possibly someone from the German national team? Doesn't seem to have helped thus far though!
  23. I still like the insinuation I'm angry. I'm in a really good mood, it's Friday How about you Halo, anything fun on the w/e?
  24. Ah ok, I see what you mean now. Again, haven't been to any of those places either so can't compare. Still mourn the loss of the Cockpit in Leeds, and the Astoria. They were both proper dumps, but glorious in their own crappy ways. Good memories of some fun gigs there.
