Blues wont win the league. Wet Spam will, despite playing Big Sam Hoof****. Ref our poor attendance. I agree. Considering we managed to get 35,000 down to London last season i would like to know where the missing 20k are. Granted some will blame the cold but to be frank its never over 20k in this league and was rarely over 25k in the prem (St Andrews holds 30,005). Essentially i think years of god awful long ball crap served up by our 2 previous managers has sucked the passion out. I however will go every week until either i cant manage due to health or age. Or we go belly up. Our first year up we sold out every week, great crowd, atmosphere fantastic. Like Stoke were a couple of years ago. We are now, sadly, heading the way of Midlesborough. (Attendance wise). Back to finishing places. 1.Wet Spam 2. Saints 3. Reading 4. Blues 5. Cardiff 6. Leicester Blues up through play-offs based on our Europa League one off game go for it attitude!

Wow, must have missed those on target shots. I tend to avoid the BBC "Stats". They tend to count anything with forward motion that goes between the corner flags as a shot, and anything that slowly rolls toward the keeper as on target. Im talking proper chances that would test a keeper. It's not me being a pain either - In all i think you are a good side, but for such a free scoring team, even with the weather on saturday, your attacking play on the whole was poor. Just as our midfield play was. Boaz Myhill in the Birmingham goal had still to make a stop as Saints failed to capitalise on a defensive mix-up by the hosts with 25 minutes remaining.

In which case i apologise for misusing hype . All i was suggesting is that considering the praise your forwards get. It was very poor that they didnt once test Myhill (who has been poor from range most of the season). Can we be friends now Please remember I have seen your attacking potency first hand as you did drub is 4-1 earlier in the season. If i was here to have digs i would have pointed out all of your failings and none of ours. It's fair to say that on Saturday, we both had many.

"No shots on target from such an attacking hyped up team was appaling im sorry to say" Again. I didn't say over hyped. My post implied that considering the hype your attacking play has got, no shots on target was appaling. If i had wanted to say "over hyped" id have said "No shots on target tells me your attack is over hyped" Which based on the conditions would have been an unfair conclusion to reach. You clearly need to take a deep breath and step away from the keyboard. I suggest a cup of tea and a curly wurley. Calms the nerves.

Thanks for the feedback ALWAYS_SFC.. I said hyped, not over hyped, you big girl. N'Daw is a beast. Looked awful in his first couple of games but has turned in to a cracking player, he seemed to be the only guy on the pitch who worked out the conditions were perfect for pot shots! As a precious poster has said the second yellow on fox, Burke was going fairly quick so the slightest touch would send him over. In those circumstances, already on a yellow, Fox should have know better than to raise his arm. benjii, there WAS a push but it was more of a mouses fart than a charging bull. I know that you lot really dont want us to beat Pompey but i think we will, and convincingly. Still full of confidence against a bunch of unpaid players. I'm not expecting then to do more than park the bus and for burke to give them a torrid time. 3-0 Blues. Also we have a new song prepared Rosie Redknapp’s got your cash, got your cash, got your cash, Rosie Redknapp’s got your cash, You’ll get no wages. thoughts?

Good Morning folks, Just thought id share my views on Saturdays game. First of all, well done saints fans. Great turn out and in good voice considering the weather. Now the game itself. What a load of rubbish. The weather was the real winner here. Two teams who have both been playing good football reduced to misplaced passes and wingers (like burke) reduced to playing for corners and falling over. The general consensus amongst blues fans seems to be that fox should NOT have been sent off for his push on Burke in the second half but i can kind of see why as he was snapping at burkes heals for qa lot of the game and did go over the ball in his first challenge (although i had to watch it back from Sky+ to even see this so the refs decision taking the surface and visibility in to account seems reasonable). Southampton seemed to adapt to the conditions a lot easier than blues and until Wade Elliot came on we didnt seem to be able to link up to much and just misplaced everything. I was a little shocked to see Lambert try and pass with your freekick in the dying seconds, surely a shot would have been the better option? A saints fan at work is claiming you "dominated" the game. I kind of feel that you dominated it in the same way we would have if we had just passed the ball between our two center mids for 90 mins with no intention of ever shooting or making a forward pass. No shots on target from such an attacking hyped up team was appaling im sorry to say. Ricky Lambert puts himself about. Marlon King seems to have forgotten the offside rule. Your Goalkeeper is a decent shot stopper. We really need a natural left winger. Thats all really! Poor game but through no fault of the teams involved. Good luck for the rest of the season! Keep Right On.

Please do I've said in other posts I think it will be a close game. You may well win. But it will be by a goal if you do. I think it will end up either 2-1 to you or 3-1 to us. Nice and decisive me Anyway i belive this is my 3rd post of the day, and since i refuse to pay £5 and go through the hassle of setting up a paypal account for a saints forum i shall see you all tomorrow for congratulations or condolences. Enjoy the game and to those making the journey if you see me stuck in snow on the M40. Please help KRO -

4-0 Against a team that has conceded once in the last 500 odd mins and only about 6 at home all season. Behave. -
Morning boys and girls. Local Birmingham Mail Journo (as close to the club as anyone) Just tweeted this. @colintattum undersoil heating at St Andrew's so game in no danger. Head groundsman Martin Kelly has a kettle of boiling water ready as an alternative.. snowfall predicted for around 6pm so wrap up and bring shovels to get out just in case.. See you all on the motorway! KRO.

To be honest Ridgewell leaving is great news. The guy had one run of matches where he was very god at left back but has a centre half he is poor and to be honest his heart has not been in it at all this season. Good riddance. Beausajour is a tough one. The guy was one paced and couldnt take a set piece to save his life but he did offer us good balance and allows Murph to bomb up from LB. I for one, think he will be missed. The real great thing for us this transfer window was hanging on to Redmond who is a great prospect and of course the reveltation that is N'Daw. He really is a beast. he breaks up play, allows Mutch time and space to do what he wants and does the simple things really really well which to be honest is all you really need at this level. Winchester Red. What makes you think you will be the first team to win at Stans in the league this season? What do you have in your locker that Wolves, FC Brugge, West Ham and Leicester don't? And if your answer is "because we are better than you" or "because we beat you 4-1 at home" then dont bother because i want a real well thought out football answer . For instance - I think we will win this weekend because: Our defense is quite simply brilliant. Curtis Davies is by far the best CB in this league and Caldwell seems to be having a bit of a swansong. Spector has settled in at RB and we have Club Captain Stevie Carr back in the squad (who despite his years, is Fantastic). In midfield we have great depth in the middle and Chris Burke has been tearing all comers a new one for a couple of months, with Redmond off the bench our right flank is very very dangerous. Then we have Marlon King (yes yes scumbag... but a great finisher) coming back in to the team. He has bagged 9 goals this season (I know lambert has done better but hasn't he converted about 1,000,000,000 penalties?) and of course the big man, the sometimes unmarkable, unplayable. Nikola Zigic. The most misunderstood player in the league. The guy is a sensation. He finally hit form in about December last year and bagged 4 in 5 league games and of course the goal against arsenal in the league cup final. It took him half a season to get going and then... Injury. I honestly think that had he stayed fit we would still be in the top flight. It seems he is doing the same again, finally getting in to his stride. If Leeds isn't a blip and he has finally found his feet again he really will murder this division. I mean, the guy was only kept out of Valencia's fist team by David Villa... I doubt very much any player in this league could even dream of playing second string to Villa... I mean in 07 when Zigic was fighting for his place against one of Europe's top strikers Billy Sharp was being kept out of a poor Sheffield United side by that well known world beater... Rob Hulse... Oh... And Jon Stead. Ziggy gets unfair stick because he looks so.... Odd. But really. Cracking player. Out of interest how are people feeling about Sharp? I know he scored 1 in 2 for Doncaster but he scored 8 goals in 3 years at Sheffield? How will he fit in? Will he work well with Lambert. I bet he scored on bloody Saturday now

Afternoon chaps! I'm a Birmingham (obviously) but i have lived down in sunny Hampshire for the last 20 years, always liked saints, mainly because most of the kids at my school were Pompey fans and I hated the bloody lot of them. I thought I would clear up a few things.... Firstly, the post about attendance. IF the guy had quoted the rest of that thread rather than the one mong who seemed to be kicking around at the time you would all have seen the multiple comments about how crap our attendance is and has been pretty much been since we first got relegated under Bruce playing some of the worst football you could imagine - and things have only just started improving. Secondly, we have undersoil heating and a JCB. Unless we get so much snow you wouldnt drive anyway, dont worry . Thirdly, Who said they saw empty seats at Villa? I've not missed a Villa home game since we got promoted in 02 and there has neever to my memory been an attendance of less that around 28k. Fourth on my little list, Birmingham has got its bad areas, but so do all cities. Obviously i live close to Soton and to be fair the Brum city center really does make Soton look poor. and St Mary's appears to have been built in the ruins of Hiroshima but Small Heath where St Andrews is isn't much better. Now back to Football. Under Hughton we really are playing some great stuff, the team seem to have finally worked each other out and for the first time since our first promotion campaign I'm really really enjoying games and I'm expecting a good match up between two really good Footballing sides. Good luck with the rest of the season, Keep Right On. Brummieinhants PS. lets all hope Pompey get wound up - as i said, horrible city, horrible club, horrible fans!
