  1. I cant remember the last time two promoted teams played each other on the opening day of the season.... Sounds like a load of s**t tbh.
  2. Liverpool at home
  3. Where has this information even come from?
  4. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?37847-Date-of-the-first-signing-sweepstake I had June 9th.
  5. Can view it on a phone but not on a pc? How odd.
  6. Supposing his return was due today as first thought. Id imagine a day to rest after the jet lag of the flight. Wednesday travel down to SMS for talks with NA and NC and have the deal wrapped up and a medical completed by thursday eve. Sounds like a plausible deadline tbh.
  7. The main reason Grant Holt wants out according to most of the media is that Norwich are unwilling to up his wages. Apparently he wanted them tripled so I cant see them offering Lambert 70K a week especially when they couldn't afford the transfer fee NC and NA would want. Utter tosh.
  8. 'in talks' This will be an excellent signing if it goes through and with chaplow tweeting he wants to stay at the club for a long time earlier also very positive. I'm glad adkins has gone for JR over hooper tbh. He would of cost more and in my opinion JR has much more potential. In 5 years time I think £7 million for him will seem a bargain.
  9. Also on SSN now. 'Southampton in talks with Burnley over a deal to sign Jay Rodriguez which could be worth up to £7m'
  10. On SSN breaking news about jay rod SSN Breaking News: 'Southampton in talks with Burnley over a deal to sign Jay Rodriguez which could be worth up to £7m'
  11. How reliable even is this? At the end of the day it's coming out from a newspaper.
  12. I'm not suggesting that. I was talking about Owen clearly sounding interested in us.
  13. Michael Owen? Especially after the MLT tweet to him?
  14. City are full of players like that look at Tevez and Ballotelli for example. NA would be able to get him under control and if he was playing regularly im sure he would buck his ideas up. If there is even the slightest possibility of getting him we should be doing everything in our power to sign him. If the wages were an issue maybe a seasons loan with an option to buy next year (assuming we retain our PL status)
  15. From Transfer Rumours Site 18 May 2012 09:16:44 Southampton planning swoop for Adam Johnson somewhere in the region of £8m. Adkins sees him as giving perfect balance on the right for Lallana. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ OH MY GOD.!! Please let this be true. Source.? ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ It would all depend on his wages..if this rumour is true of course. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Now this is one Saints rumour which seems believable! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ In my opinion Adam Johnson is one of the most underrated premier league players, City could and should easily be able to get £20+ million if they decide to sell him. And for his sake I hope he would go to a bigger club than Southampton.. It's a joke how he's not in the England squad really ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ I am a saints fan but a lot of relations from manchester and they say there is some weight in this story and there is strong rumours coming out of the etihad but talking 6.5 million coyr ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Usually this guy would be slated but alot of people seem to believe him? I cant see us getting him at all to be honest as he should at minimum be playing for a team in european competitions. Just to get him on a loan deal would be a miracle but he certainly would be a great signing. An excellent player who in my opinion should be in the England 23 man squad.
  16. Somen Tchoyi has been released from West Brom. Didn't see much of him this season but last year looked like a good player to me. Premier league experience and 29 years old, could be a mature head to have around the club even if he only made a few appearances.
  17. I dont know if he has just been injured long term. But Tom Huddlestone would be a great buy.
  18. An anonymous poster comes onto the forum and drops a bombshell like that yet they all seem pretty convinced its true... a statement to be made tonight apparently.
  19. Didnt discuss in depth he just mentioned it and thought I'd see others opinions.
  20. My brother is an avid Manchester United fan and is lead to believe that Fabio will almost defiantly be available for loan next seen. Bags of pace and likes to attack which would suit our style of play. I would of thought fergie would want him to play for a passing side and see no reason why we shouldn't throw everything at getting him.
  21. I think Wilson Palacios could be a veryful useful acquisition. A great defensive midfielder that is proven in the EPL and never seems to get a game at stoke. I'd be shocked if he's made 10 league appearances since his move to stoke. He cost them £6million and even if they wanted to recoup that fee it would be a very good deal for us.
  22. He is 31 years old and only plays big games. Ferguson has let a lot of players go on the cheap. Gibson and Obertan to name two. Bare in mind that Fletcher, Anderson and Cleverly are all currently injured and if they hold onto Pogba he will have even more competition. I said it was highly unlikely but I feel he won't be there come September.
  23. Very unlikely but if we could sign 3 players of this quality I'd feel we could do well in the prem. Probably obtainable under £10 million. Park Ji Sung - under £3 million Matt Jarvis - £4-7million maybe Junior Hoilett - free with small compensation for his age Park is a hard battler in midfield never stops chasing the opposition and plenty of top flight prem experience. Jarvis is arguably Wolves best player always a threat with a great end product and pace. Hoilett is young, skilful and forever improving. As I say these are unlikely but if we could pull off coups like this we would really mean business
  24. jordansibley: Saints Vs Ipswich: Davis. Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Harding. Guly, Hammond©, Schneiderlin, Lallana. Lee, Lambert. On the bench for Saints tonight are: Cork, Sharp, Martin, Connolly and De Ridder
