  1. How different does that sound to some of our past chairpersons (no names - all in the past)? Warm happy feelings for the first time in a long while...
  2. You're joking right? Or are you a bell-end?
  3. Atheist...!
  4. Very good shout that one - I'd go for the intermezzo of Mascagni's Cavallaria Rusticana as the most moving classical piece..
  5. I know what you mean about alternative lyrics, DG! Having spent most Friday nights for 2 years singing (OK - shouting tunelessly...) "I feel so f**ked up, S**T! I wanna go home" I'm always surprised that the Beach Boys know an alternative version! Daydream Believer is a good shout - brings warm, happy memories of mad evenings! It's true what you say about the lack of trouble though - I remember a few "handbags" but it never got seriously out of hand, which is surprising really when you think about how much everyone was steamed up and "buzzed"? I seem to remember that Newcastle Brown was my ale of choice - not for any fashion or taste reasons, just it meant you didn't lose so much beer when people fell over you!
  6. Yes! I remember the first 2! The Bowie one was "Starman", I think? Can't remember the Nirvana one. Ones I sort of remember, but as senility starts taking hold I can't be sure, were: Simon & Garfunkel ("The Boxer"? "Mrs Robinson"?) The Beatles ("Saw Her Standing There"? "Twist & Shout"?) Rolling Stones - "Get Off My Cloud"? Kinks - "You Really Got Me"? And I'm sure there was a Hendrix one?
  7. Bizarre, was just thinking about the Frog the other day - anyone remember the songs? (I seem to remember the guitarist was called Derek - I would have been a regular around '82/'83) I used to love screaming Thin Lizzy's "Whisky in the Jar", and there was the alternative lyrics of "Sloop John B." - sure there were some Sex Pistols ones that always ended in in one of the tables collapsing - "Pretty Vacant"? Christmases were great too - "F**k off you big fat b*stard, I ain't going to pull your sleigh"...

    Team v QPR?

Is Mr Liebherr at the game?
  9. To step aside from the FM debate...! Agree with you on Total War - I've put a self-imposed ban on during week days because I can just lose whole days on this!! And I'm delaying buying Empire until I have at least a week's clear holiday.. Still working through the final factions on Medieval II
  10. "Ne Me Quittes Pas" by Jacques Brel; even if you don't speak French it's pretty gut-wrenching... "I've Been Loving You Too Long" by Otis Redding
  11. http://www.eatsleepsport.com/southampton/lallana-100-committed-925649.html In the picture he looks as if he could lose a few pounds...
  12. Gruezi, Herr Liebherr, Merci vilmal!! Widerluege, P.
  13. Hah! Try Gruyere or Emmenthal...
  14. But does Thorpie actually exist? Or is he just a front for a consortium of Islamo-Jesuit Scottish rock stars based in Swiss Cottage??
  15. Nice one!! Was thinking of working back in the UK last year, but to be paid in GBP and have outgoings in Euro's would be a nightmare at the moment...
  16. As I'm paid in Euro's my salary has just passed 100k quid a year Shame all my outgoings are also in Euro's...
  17. There's a very good simulation called "NationStates" where YOU decide the legislation - and you see the consequence of your actions. Have a go!
  18. Were you kid-ding?
  19. Sounds like he's having a bit of a 'mare....
  20. Agree with all the sentiments on here - but how do we stop it? The mother is obviously a sick, thick, ignorant f**kwit who deserves to die horribly, but what's the answer? And what were her parents doing?
  21. Tragic - poor, poor nipper. Not usually one for knee-jerk, vigilante reaction, but I'd be happy if those 3 responsible for this were lynched.
  22. Only got Juve vs Real here on TV - normally avoid Saints matches on here since we tend to lose! Hope to break the jinx tonight; sounds as if we're playing OK?
  23. See they're after Ronaldo and Torres now!
