I remember reading somewhere that all the senior players were told in the summer that if they didn't find a new club they'd be left to rot in the reserves. This is also what happened to Rudi for sometime. Saints signed a contract with him at a time when he could conceivably have gone to a Premier League club, and then found difficulty honouring the terms of that contract and the club did its best to push him out. When that didn't work they acted like nothing had happened and played him despite saying that they wouldn't. And now, when he has found himself a new club, bleat about his motivation and not wanting to stay. If that's not club policy making a player feel unwanted then I'm a tomato. If my employer ****ed me over like that I wouldn't stick around if I had the option - would you?

No it isn't

To me this stinks of gesture politics on Crouch's part. I'm sure he didn't really expect Lowe and Wilde to come up with 2m each.

It's no help with apostrophes though I take it

I'm still of the opinion that he did a good job under the circumstances. I'm expecting things to go rapidly downhill now he's gone.

We are the new Crewe. They're surving in the 3rd division and I'm sure we would as well.
-
Only if someone is prepared to match his wages surely. I'm sure this is what happened with Euell - we offered him around but there were no takers.
-
He's on premier league wages though isn't he so it's obviously not going to happen is it.

You should get out more

We are the new Crewe Alexandria

Some very strange valuations on here. The above seem about right to me. Anyone remember how much we paid for KD not so long ago? It wasn't 3.25m

Top 5 best and worst player to play for saints in CCC
Danbert replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Thought he was Irish - sounds about right though definitely one of the worst players we've had for some time. -
I thought we we're relegation certs. Portaloo has given us a team that can compete at this level from castoffs and youth team players. I think he's done a very good job under the circumstances. It hacks me off the way that after one bad results the headless chickens on here go bezerk. So we lost a game - get over it.

IMHO both the forwards we currently have and the forwards we've sent out on loan are pants.

That joke is very old and isn't very funny.

I don't think that's very likely to happen really do you?

I take your point, I just don't see that it's Wotton, Davis or Skacel or God help us Euell's age that makes them better players than others. Players can make mistakes whatever their age, and you don't have to be over twenty to know that it's sometimes a good idea to smack it into touch. Young players may be less developed than older players and therefore vulnerable to the physical game. I haven't noticed our team getting kicked of the park this season though - and that's in the supposedly physical Championship.
-
I don't really see that age in itself is a problem - just look at what Arsenal U12's did to Wigan. Nor can I see that we have any problem closing out games as one of the good things about a young squad is that they are likely to be that little bit fitter. The problem is a lack of quality, and money of course. Drafting in more substandard carthorses ala Perry/Wotton would only make things worse IMHO.

I fail to see your point. In what way does this information help us to understand what ordinary footballers earn compared to average people?
