A lot of the bad pre season's in the past were at least partly blooming in new players. Koeman almost built a new first team because the board sold all of ours. The way I see it is from the beginning of last season we've lost our 2 first choice centre backs and an attacking bench player in jrod without replacing.

You've put hojbjerg in cdm but he's actually a real box to box midfielder, but because he's young and we're short in that area it looks like the clubs tryinf to mould him into that role. Clasie is the actual cdm there but his lack of height, strength or pace means he can't play there alone. We all already knew that that's the weak part of our squad so I'm not going to go on about it anymore.

That'd be right at post brexit conversion rates. Was just below 20 mil euros at the time with some sources saying higher. 25 mil euros wouldn't seem that out of place. We won't spend 35mil euros though.

If we don't sign anyone then season and have lost jay rod and fonte at least from out squad last year I just don't see how we have improved. You can bet other prem teams who finished below us in the table last season has improved. It is frustrating that we finished in a good position but spending wise we seem to be drooping around the lower half of the prem, potentially even the championship. If we make a profit every transfer window that's not balancing the books because we have shirt sales, tv money, ticket sales, other merchandise. Plenty of time left to sign people and I reckon we're letting the big dogs tire themselves out with there 30-50 mil bids before we see what's realistic. Not particularly worried right now but will be if no one's signed in a couple of weeks. We're 1 Cb, 1 striker and 1 cdm injury away from some real trouble.

Gotta wonder how happy he'd be with it. I'm pretty confident all of adkins, poch and koeman all would've been very happy with how there time of the south coast went. Puels no longer in Europe, top 8 team now like closer to 10th, don't have quite the same spark as we did with mane and pelle. Gotta remember that he just left nice who are top of ligue 1 right now. Wouldn't say he's done anything wrong. We've let in the third least goals in the prem. Some games eg palace I don't think we would've shipped 3 if we scored first when we were all over them. Gotta wonder where wed be if we had a 20+ goalso a season striker. Can't blame puel that's longs not scored for 20 games

We all wanted koeman to stay, koeman hasn't stayed and continously finding player and manager replacements for cheaper and better surely can't work forever, perfectly reasonable for fans to be a little concerned. The people not allowing fans to express this concern on a fan forum is pretty ridiculous. If not for us to rest each others mind then use it for some good quotes when we finish 5th next season. We march on!

I always thought there was a big 7 in premier league football. We finished top 8 for the third season in a row. Finishing above members of that top 7 for 2 seasons in a row. Too become a big club we just have to sustain it.

Saw this there and it intrigued me " becoming only the fourth player in Premier League history to register three or more assists in a single game on more than one occasion." It reminded me of manes quickest ever hattrick, before this current era of players I don't think SRL, etc. ever got a bpl hattrick. Anyone else know of any other records or interesting stats from any current saints players?
