Yes, but Southgate is awful 😂
-
Yup this particular part is really quite poor, and it's also do damaging to clubs because they will physically lose fan interest, revenue, and potentially future fans. Saints have avid fans all over the south west, and it will especially impact our fanbase in the EFL relative to a lot of others.

Would be another 3 points down the pan sadly.

The reality is that SW has done absolutely nothing to demonstrate she can run a men's team at the level of the championship to mid table prem, it would be like saints going out and headhunting whichever mananger wins the fa trophy this season... I just can't understand the fans that think women's football is comparable to the men's game? It's nowhere near on the same level for athleticism or skill, because the games are played at an entirely different pace, with less power, more space, and different tactics. Let's not even start on the level of the goalkeeping and/or ridiculousness of having 5ft 4" goalkeepers (e.g. Haiti vs England) playing in the same size goals as in the men's game. It's basically a different sport at this point, and should be enjoyed as such.

Smart business all around as it means less sell on for city 😂🤣. Us and Chelsea stitching pool and city up a bit here 😆

Reading between the lines on the quotes from people closer to him, it sounds like he's wrestled with himself, "sacraficed a lot" and ultimatley traded what he'd have had here for the dream of playing for England. I guess he's 29 and this is his last shot, plus he gets European football for a season... He's a class professional and a good player so should do well, but I fear he might regret this. He would have been a legend forevermore had he stayed at saints and led us back up - but that is gone now. Eitherway, I'll wish him all the best myself, wouldn't surprise me if we see him back at saints one day in some capacity.

Is he club captain by virtue of the fact he is the only roughly first team standard player that no one is trying to sign? 🤔
-
Olmo's 2nd goal was a cracking goal 👌 Also... We could have had openda for like £6M last summer... Instead he went to lens, came 2nd in ligue 1, and is now lifting the German super cup... And we signed onuachu for like £18M ffs...🤔 (not to bang the Openda drum for another summer) 😂

Agree with this. Just watched the highlights and was expecting to see a shit show from baz having skimmed the match thread.... none of Norwich's 4 goals are bazunu's fault today. The 2nd is a cracking strike and he's unsighted, the first is a free header put right in the corner, the 4th is laughable defending... In fact let's be honest - same for the 3rd, same for the 1st...
-
Defence absolutely shocking. Simply ho excuse for that shit continuing. Made someone captain who needs replacing, which is worrying from a transfer perspective!

I considered it's a skate account at this point. Basically every single post seems to have some kind of negative comment about the club, the players, managers etc. 😅

A "monumental second half of the season" that some fans try to revise into "a failure" 😄. Also worth pointing out Reading's title winning season a year later was after a terrible start. All slightly academic, i didn't see enough in the Wednesday performance to be confident as yet, particularly as we're weakening the squad and have no solid links to incomings. So for me, there is a long way to go before we know where we really stand.

No one has seen anything of Awe to suggest he's ready for the championship? Lyanco's pre season (and Gillingham (A) show he simply isn't good enough / doesn't want to be here. So we're left with 2 CB's we wanted rid off last season (one of which slagged off the club), and another that's been injured for months. We need +1 imo, and that should be a player either better than Bednarek/Stephens, or close to their level but with a far higher ceiling.
-
Calling people bed wetters for being unhappy at last season is going some manji 😅. Also Rasmus doesn't help himself, between giving a presentation on "if it ain't broke, break it" and his fans forum showing, he pretty much painted a bullseye on his forehead... And tbh, it may not have been the plan, but it was equally his hands on the wheels.
-
If we'd sold him for only £27M guaranteed fees then its pretty pathetic from the board frankly. Only way that can be read is that we wanted the sale. He would likely have played every minute of every league game, easily bagged double figures for the season, and had 3years left on his contract? There had better be something good incoming because currently our only serious CM options are Charles and Smallbone... And we're one sale/injury away from Bree at RB 😂. Suspect we'll run into issues with selling teams now as they'll know we're desperate and loaded.
-
No depth beyond that, kwp and Che set to leave as well.... Starting to look more and more like a 2nd tier team stuck in limbo. Transfers needed just to hold at that level. Better hope Wilcox has some cracking deals line up! 🤞🤞🤞
-
Going to be a nasty atmosphere if they lose this as it stands. Better name some good transfers PDQ.

I get its painful for some fans that he's off. But it doesn't need the hostility he's getting from some corners. He's been here since he was a kid (20years now), loves the club, had chances to move before, and has given us great service. He's equally soon to turn 29, watched basically all his team mates and much of the backroom staff leave over that period, and he is in his prime chasing an England call up and European football. He probably should sense the mood, he's leaving now whilst we're about to go through a very tough period, he doesn't need to be making a big song and dance out of that as well... Seen a few photos of his time at the club since he was a kid, posing with shaw and mcqueen in the academy, his prem debut vs city, of him/lambert/lallana/jayrod all posing after their england call up etc. He really has become part of the furniture and it is the end of an era in that regard. I wonder how many other players we'll have that do 20years? But if people want to be angry, the target should be Sports Republic... the fact we're taking a huge financial hit in a lower league is a shit show almost entirely of their own making after last year's absolute debacle.
-
Has to have an option to buy, otherwise we're selling them our captain for £30M (and less than we're stated as wanting), then we take one of the country's best future prospects on loan to develop him for them, and then we'll get stung by west ham asking us for £25M-30M next summer... All of which means we'll have the same void to fill next year, or that we'll have effectively traded JWP for Downes.
-
It would be mental to sell JWP to raise funds... but then keep Adams and KWP when they're leaving for free. Can't see any of them being here by October.
-
Hah, well you can only assume we've got significant transfer targets lined up and ready to come straight in... To sanction selling Tino, Lavia, and JWP, all after the season's started (and within the space of a few days) would be madness otherwise. Will be hugely damaging for morale and cohesion. Whether we can get anywhere near the required quality in is anyone's guess, and either way, selling those 3 players does nothing for the ridiculous squad bloat that we're suffering from.
-
This summer's transfer window starting to look like an old Burnout game... the past 24 hours and coming couple of days will be the slow motion multi car pile up; one we've been hurtling towards with our best laid plans/trajectory... and then afterwards we get to assess the damage, work out how many points we get, and the likely go again next year...
-
I have wondered about this. A few things were said in one of Martin's press conferences/interviews that implied some players would be encouraged to move.
