  1. Yet it adds up to less time than lallana in 2012? He looks an interesting player, but from the videos his final ball/shot is poor half the time. And Inter loaned him out so he can't yet be top premier class. That said he seems to fit the mold of player we go for in the young and exciting "will increase in value" sort of way. I feel sorry for puncheon but this lad is a class above. Although in the videos he seems to be running down the left or middle. Not the right. Ads on the way out perhaps? Surely not, but we aren't going to drop Gaston now are we...
  2. This discussion is puerile at best, the original posts states confidence in The Don, but then says he is worried.... this is followed by a variety of other nervous posters who can't look at what who, what and why we have signed. You only have to look at the transfers of other clubs that got relegated and see what fees you can demand for good players on long term contracts... jarvis, fletcher etc. Our lot are young and tied down for years on good contracts. The club have been prudent, with a 3million net spend to get to the premier. People quote the 7th highest spenders on the continent this year as a reason why we are risking it all. But if you think about it, Italian and spanish football is broke ( literally excluding real and barca), you then have psg and a few eastern clubs to worry about. Even german football is not that wealthy as whilst they have the crowds and merchandising there is no chinese tv deals paying them £3bn. The other point massivley in our favour is that we are in a very strong financial position.. the majority of premier league clubs are swimming in negative bank balances, certainly those we are competing with. So we went to the premier on the back of a low net spend, backed by billionaires, run by a swiss banker for a family that have NEVER borrowed or traded run a business into debt as a family policy. And people are worried about us as a football club... If we are ****ed then good luck to the rest of the premier. Unlike a lot of people who put this then add a caveat about fecked if we go down.... I totally trust the Don. Every press release has alluded to us being comfortable and having under-spent against projected outlay, i doubt those projections included selling the ox either. If we go down we will cover our losses anyway, £10mil for gaston, similar for AL, £7m for morgan and cork each? that is far from unreasonable and we would never have to sell them all, with that squad you could as good as guarantee coming back up anyway. The you have clyne? worth 5mil, shaw is anotehr £10-15mil. I mean seriously, if we went down, and sold them ALL. we would cover their transfer costs and have to pay wages for one year on the back of all the TV money.... sounds like a loss making idea to me Hold your horses and stop being dell sized dimwits! and for gods sake, enjoy the ride and trust Nicola!
  3. well, never mind ey. Rather a saint thana chelsea fan anyway. At least will turn it on against villa now. Thought the ref was **** but chelsea were good today
  4. This... Horrendus commentary. and half time..... generic **** head going, "southampton were the best side for the first 10min, unfortunatley there is another 80min to go.. (pauses with smug smile)... it's going to be a 4 or 5 one-er...." Hope saints show him, bloody ****stain. Remember guys, Chelsea have never one an FA cup game vs saints when we have both been top flight.. 4 matches, 3 draws, and 3 replay wins to saints. thats played 7, won 4, drawn 3, lost 0!!! We can do this!
  5. You can dream all you want, you can discuss dreams all you want. All I know is that in another life we would have this as our attack.... Striker - Walcott/lambert AMC - Bale/Gaston/lallana RW - Oxlade LW - Bale/lallana For a spend of 12m. People said theo was the last one, then they said bale was.. but out popped the ox, now we have jwp and shaw, with a whole host of other talented youngsters and I don't just mean hoskins and reeves. The longer we keep these players, and they have all come top European players, the better our team will become. In the premier we will keep them for longer, and the ones we sell we will sell for more. If gives us more time and money to build a better team and retain more youngsters. That is the clubs ambition, you'd be a fool to not consider the potential outcomes with our track record of producing talent. When top british clubs bow down and praise our youth setup as something to learn from we must be doing something right. And we clearly have money behind us and a good player investment strategy. Enjoy the ride, and see where it takes us. But don't dismiss europe as never more that a dream. We can definitely expect to aim for europa league as an ambition for the next 5 years as a minimum. We may never reach it ofc. But honestly, a premier club with our setup and momentum that doesn't at least target that has no place in the league at all. FFS look at stoke and newcastle in recent years. And don't pll the old chestnut about newcastle having a 50k attendance out the bag, attendance revenues pale in comparison to tv revenues - which are set to increase still further next season. With new ffp we are in a prime position to move forward. We have the best youth setup in england/bar utd and a young squad full of potential. We are going places! Lets just hope that its not the the county ground in the league next season ^_^
  6. Anything better than this:
  7. People saying this happened to both teams have blinkers on every week imho. Every single home game our players stack it. Clyne is the worst offender for this particular incident. The opposition hardly fall over at all, but ours seem to love sliding around on the backside, typically 5-7 times a match as a rough average guess. It ****es me off every game I go to. Biggest one I can think of is Clyne vs Van Persie but there are far to many to count. And the thing is, we do do it more than the opposition, but we should be used to the pitch, they shouldn't. Therefore, someone fix the fecking boots!
  8. Wow, so in 16months Oxlade has ruined his career. Do you honestly think that. He left saints, and in one move went from league 1 (3rd tier) to playing champions league football in around 6 months, got in the england team, and is becoming an england regular. Yup, HE HAS RUINED HIS CAREER!!!! In comparison I offer you Kerian Dyer, Alan smith or Wayne Bridge. All made big money moves, and all went backwards and now play in lower leagues.
  9. Shhs! .... He said no names As for the game. Only thing to havit better for me was guly not scoring an own goal. He works so hard to appease the fans then it all goes. wrong and the same few beat him mercilessly. I thought tactic were good.. we shut then down! And all players were superb bar boric... Still has sum work to do for me. Morgab. Gran, GRam, cork or yoshi for MOM
  10. May be unpopular, but I would drop Rickie for JayRod.
  11. Behave, look at the position of the Arsenal youth teams, and the injury record for players under their world class coaching. Honestly what a pile of BS. Are you a Gooner? Or maybe a skate?
  12. Not Really... Man City and Man Utd we came from behind to lead, we then threw it away, everton we had the lead and threw it away, etc etc etc. What you should have said is "we will struggle to win the game" - lets be realistic
  13. His tactics were horrendus yesterday. 1.) you don't beat a team camped in their 18 yard box with pure pace. What is there to get behind, the touchline? 2.) Wtf, we lose our best player in Lallana, so he compounds the error by taking Ramirez, and sticking him out of position on the left, where he is not involved and is wasted. Everything he did was when he came into the middle of the pitch. So basically we were missing our both of our best creative midfielders, (you need them to unlock a team camped on their 18 yard line)! Nice way to help Villa and handicap ourselves. However, His changes were good. De ridder got at villa with some actual skill and was dribbling through quite a few of them. actually gave us some penetration. (Shock appearance though, but I think he did allright tbh.) Only downside to him was his delivery swasn't brilliant, although 50% accuracy on crosses. Puncheon on the other hand was a **** stain all evening. I don't want to even go there with him, just dribbles like a headless chicken then never looks up or got the ball caught in his feet. He sucked donkey balls. Guly did okay, had some good ball control and strength which is what we needed, keep forgetting what a tank he can be. Personally we should have had JRod on for Lambo, Guly on for punch and de ridder on for mayuka - all on 50min, gone for a 4-3-3 and got at them with ramirez in the whole, but as per usual, Nigel left it to late to and made the wrong subs for me. I love nigel to bits, but yesterday the tactics were off and the players let him down big time. Especially Lambert, punch, cork, morgan and Gaston. To be honest, the only player who stood out for us was 17 year old shaw, and even at 80min he was one of the most positive energetic players we had, still doing a driving run into the box when certain other players had long since switched to half arsed mode!
  14. Thank christ we are not playing chelsea in the league any time soon!! That could have been us!
  15. We will beat city.. have no fear. We are their bogey team we were always going to lose today... Team with no interest in attacking play comes to sms = defeat as for today. Nigel ducked up. We'd lost lallana so he thought he get rid of our other best player by sticking him out of position on the left. Genious. Also nice to sed do prado getting boo'd when he came on.... I must have missed puncheon playing at least average or something.
  16. I don't think I am usually guilty of that. In contrast, I looked into this thread thinking it was an interesting transfer story. Its not lets be honest. I scrolled down though, reading what I thought was a interesting discussion about the club interacting with the fans. It's not that either. What it is is a selection of the usual WUMS sat around taking the **** and looking for a bite (which you've managed several of - hi 5!) before turning into a slagging match with handbags at dawn. Its boring, and your post initial post I replied to summaries this perfectly.... well put! As for this new "transfer" I've not noticed any changes with the club, but then that isn't surprising if he doesn't start until January is it really? Anyway, I'm done intervening in this teenage spat, if the MODS don't step in then what is the point of bothering yourself on this forum. All you get for it is being called a troll by people who are trolling - flapping time!!!
  17. Just reading through this thread and others, your self righteous post summed up how I feel about you (some times) now stop getting your handbags out - its embarrassing, you give it large all the time, and if you can't take a bit back then that's not my fault is it?? Basically, considering the 3 of you are all (i presume) grown men.... do you not think you should grow a pair rather than having a flapping at each other on an online football forum. God know's what other clubs think of us....
  18. Lol, didn't know you wrote autobiographies...
  19. You can see my all round confidence in the result from this post, and the amount I change my mind :~
  20. I would not be averse to seeing Lee in the team actually. Adkins obviously liked him from all the hype he gave him last season. Reminded me of Pardew whacking off about Puncheon - and he was proved right in the end. His injured spell is over and he's started to look good in the development fixtures. Who else do we have to play Left midfield really. And if you can't try him against one of the worst teams in the league... what is the point in having him. Personally I think we will see him on the bench. I wouldn't be totally suprised if Do Prado is CAM with GRam out on the left. And punch-eon on the right. Alternatively, we could go for Mayuka right, punch left and GRam middle. Lots of options. Of course there is also JayRod left... he started to gain some confidence. Whatever we pick, I am starting to get nervous about this one. Sunderland have picked up the last few games, and are up for this game, they are definetley not underestimating us like some of the others. And lets be honest, reading were ****, qpr were ****, and Newcastle were knackered. We have been looking better than we actually are and this one will be a real test for us. If you think otherwise then i reckon you are in for a shock this weekend!!!
  21. I'm sorry but I don't think calling someone a name that they are not is in anyway crossing so far over a line that we need a thread about how non Political correct it is. Please grow a pair. I agree whole heartily with the view that insulting/abusing someone because/about THEIR mental illness is utterly unacceptable OFC. But calling someone a spaz on a internet forum. Bugger me with a small wooden fork..... that is a serious internet crime. People are right, we are turning into a fanbase of wet fannies!
  22. £3m net spend from foot of league 1 to premier league.... ****ing terrible record that!!!
  23. I apreciate that you feel you are in the centre of a bunch on lunatics talking crap out their arse, but to hold frimpong up as a good signing........................................................................................... oh dear.
  24. Basically, if you didnt by and htc when you could have afforded one, and flash doesn't work. I have no sympathy for you. I hope that is helpful Charlie! Support htc!
  25. Basically, I want the sash back next season! That kit was fantastic, as was last years championship home + away. Why have we ****ed around with this seasons **** designs? Its not complicated. Give us a kit with a diagonal stripe(s) and a yellow and blue away strip. The end. Failing that give us or traditional red and white vertically striped shirt. And let us buy our 3rd (i mean away) kit u mongtard merchandising people. ****ers.
