  1. The Jay-Rod situation sums up how bad it's been for the last two season. We had a gem of a player in Jay, who suffers a nasty injury. We stick by him for all that recovery period as he was one of the most exciting talents in the squad. Yet he comes back and is just shoved in the team as a bit part player after rehabilitation. Puel's crap style of footy stifled him and he wanted out, all the while fans and coaches have already dismissed him as past it and not good enough for this progressive style. Now he's looking back to his best under Pardew, probably because he's actually put faith him in. So rather than doing the same with a player we already have, we ship him out for a snip and then break our transfer record on someone unproven in the Prem. Obviously I'm going to get behind Guido but it just heightens to the shambles this club has been this past year.
  2. True - but it was clear early on none of them fit within Pellegrino's system. He should've known that during pre-season. I think the board's realised we're in deep doo-doo and is finally backing a boss in the market.
  3. Is there a reason why we didn't go for him in the summer, considering he appears to be a Pellegrino signing? Or has the board realised managers may need to bring in the players they want to make their tactics work?
  4. Did I hear Promes in this??
  5. soares ooh tadic tadic bertrand, hoedt & guido Stephens & rom-e-u he can be our guido baby he can score away the pain he will stand by us forever but he won't play at stoke away
  6. JWP probably signed pro forms in 2011. Definitely been at the club a lot longer. We signed Stephens after he made his first team debut for Plymouth that same year.
  7. Lock this garbage
  8. I have - Watford's bad run happened after I posted the above reply. Are Watford not struggling? They're 10th but 4 points off the relegation zone. That's how tight it is down there. I'd agree with you if they were 10 points above the drop.
  9. November throwback quote. I still think this will be the case. And proven right in my thoughts about Silva. He's not what we need at all.
  10. OP means Poch's first game but enjoy your pedantic success.
  11. They're getting in Javi Garcia. Don't know anything about him. Stats don't look good, but neither did Poch's. You either go unknown and unearth a gem, or you get a Pellegrino.
  12. He is a crap manager. We will go down under him. Also, great to see clubs not taking sh*t anymore.
  13. Would be a magninficent signing but will never happen.
  14. He did manage Valencia though. Massive club compared to us.
  15. Yeah, I guess so. But Austin has been relegated with QPR already and Bertrand was part of an Aston Villa side that was safe by the scrape of their teeth before joining us. That leaves three others that I doubt would be up for a fight, regardless of talent. Hoedt's the only one left I think can help.
  16. Really? A first XI containing McCarthy, Stephens, Yoshida, Long, and a 33-year-old Davis is destined to struggle in this league I'm afraid.
  17. This is absolute ********. Where's the proof? I want stone cold facts, not assumption. What you've said is fantasyland I'm afraid. Both manager and players are not good enough. The board, coaching team and Les Reed aren't licking their lips with delight every time we lose because of some regimented tactical masterplan. I think there's something very wrong behind the scenes morale-wise and Pellegrino can't do a lot more to resolve it, imo.
  18. Why though? Why are we entitled not to be where we are in the league? Fans have very short memories.
  19. Typical arrogant Saints fan mentality. Our current strikers would still score less than him in Portugal right now.
  20. Carrillo was born in Magdalena. Perhaps he'll oversee our resurrection.
  21. 2-2 after 2-0 up you melt. Go now Pellegrino.
  22. Disgrace. Both the goal and the manger. Bye bye.
  23. Yeah sounds like feedage if Redmond and Forster were dropped at time of press (or article publication). Scary and sobering article - reckon there's a team down the line for us who sees us as a team to challenge the top or just cash pocketing fodder? Time will tell
  24. lock this thread please
  25. Redmond really isn't a likeable chap, is he? Constantly shouting at others when he's clearly in the wrong.
