It’s a great move for JWP. I don’t think the Hammers will be as bad as people think they will. Regardless of what United fans think of him, Maguire is a class signing, too.

Our fans need to get real. Last season’s defeat to Grimsby was worse than this. We don’t want to be in this competition across a 46 game league season.

Can we blame the new kit?

He’s in a lose-lose situation. I would think most from last season don’t want to be here. The sooner we are rid, the better. And that includes JWP.

Leeds 7/2 for the win now. Worth a punt.

Sheffield Weds 1-2 Saints - Match Thread
Maggie May replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
The Burnley fans have a very high opinion of themselves, suggesting they would beat us on last night’s showing. I think a lot are cloaking their view of us with a touch of arrogance and envy. I personally think they’ll be torn apart in the Prem. https://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=70994&start=50 I think we were fantastic last night. It was only the lack of finishing that stopped it being a drubbing. I don’t know if that’s solved by playing Che from the start or bringing someone new in. We will punish a lot of teams as the players become more accustomed with the style and they buy into further. Starting off the season with a win was vitally important. Could some of the players linked with moves away be swayed by how well we played last night? We shall see. I was very encouraged by the newfound zip in our play in the games against Goztepe and AZ, and it was great to see us take it up a notch in a league game. -

Don Goodman would love nothing more than an equaliser. He’ll never change . -

Would love to know what happens in the Saints dressing room at half time. Same old story - play well first half, throw it away in the second. -
Absolutely fabulous signing.

I have a horrible feeling Dyche’s going to turn them into next season’s surprise package.

Good deal. We have to trust RM, Wilcox and Co going forward. I think we can. From what I’ve heard, Wilcox means business.

A post on the Burnley forum: “Pace's daughter has been contacting people on social media asking them to post '#freetella' content as part of a campaign to, in her words, "persuade Southampton to loosen their grip of him“ Absolutely hilarious.

He’ll be in the team of the season.

I lauded the new zip about our play after the Goztepe match but was laughed away.

With a Twitter handle called PlayztStyle, it’s safe to assume this isn’t true.

Would love to see the Saintsforever forum back in 2005/06 when we signed the likes of Darren Potter and Richard Chaplow…

I don’t think we can afford of season of adjustment. We need to come up next season and RM will no doubt have been told this is a prerequisite by SR.

Promising signs but again shows why we shouldn’t be so precious over players we had here last season leaving. No one is indispensable or even has a divine right to be a PL player, IMO.

I’ve heard he’s gone to Turkey to return a better player, like Redmond.

Unfortunately the back line of a relegated team are going to be the hardest to shift.
