Nice 1-2 with the ref!

Thoroughly agree (though I'm no expert on 'systems'). Tadic was excellent. I wonder if he and Gaston might form a truly creative partnership.
-
What a good 2nd half! Whether he stays or goes, Morgan played like a real pro today - put the effort in for his CURRENT club. Hope he stays... Pelle put it right up the Hammers with a great performance. Tadic was slippery and in control, Cork came on and showed real class. Lots of other comments to make but no doubt someone will rate the team better than I can. Just really pleased with a fantastic performance and result.

Dominated the stats, dominated the 2nd half. After a decidedly dodgy 1st half, 3-1 is the minimum 'fair' score from that performance IMO. Hammers were poor, but we took advantage which is great to see.

That will do nicely, thank you!

YAASSS!

Hammers defending was pretty shoddy, admittedly, but good to see us attacking in numbers.

Get in!

Done. Good luck

Even though it was a defeat, not the thumping everyone was predicting. Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Pelle to Liverpool for £2m - that revolving door is working, then! Haha

Covers all options, doesn't it? Allows current owners to pocket £'x'million as well...? That's a 'liability' I'm sure they wouldn't want to leave behind!
-
I agree. Also provides them with an incentive: to play well and aim for CL the following year, after a good season, at which time Saints could make the most of the buy-in option.
-
Hodgson "I don't wecognise much of this team now - got any good Engwishmen?" Reed & Kruger "Nah, we're going dutch on all the transfers this year!"
-
Liverpool !!! Too obvious?

Nevertheless, all the speculation and losing MP is somewhat heart-wrenching. We have (not yet "had") a great squad with a mix of youngsters and old'yins, a captain who's a fantastic player and has respect of everyone at the club, and what's more we have a fine academy with more youngsters coming through and wanting to learn from those already in the senior squad. If players have to leave, PLEASE let it be after the World Cup. 'Bigger' clubs are desperate to sign players beforehand so they don't add value by having a good tournament. I'd also like to have Southampton players there, not ex-Saints who are labeled 'Liverpool', 'Tottenham', 'Chelsea', etc. We want our club's name to be mentioned around the world cos it would help publicity for one. Hopefully the decision-makers can see that? An issue is that if the senior squad is decimated, especially those who came through the ranks, youngsters will want away too so we'll be back in the position we were in when we lost Walcott, Bale, Ox, etc. Yes, it's speculation and the only actual event is the loss of MP, but it's hard to watch the vultures gathering. If we could keep AL, I think that would make a big difference.

level at HT, will take that for now...

Hmmm, that's less than good!

Ref bottled the booking (would have been red), then didn't penalise 'boro for charging the free kick. Weak!
