  1. Lets be honest NC is going to put any bids below £8 million straight in the bin and Stoke are not going to bid more than £3-4 million for a striker who is 30. And Kenwyne Jones is complete dog sh!te. We won't be looking to sell our best player. Lambert as far as I know loves it in Southampton. Hence this would not happen in a million years.
  2. Absolutely no chance of that happening.
  3. It may help the middle (debatable) but it certainly leaves the back four exposed and the flanks. All IMO of course. We do miss Cork I think, he would fit in well in the middle 3.
  4. Christ we are a depressing bunch aren't we. I'm happy where we are at present. Yes we have had two fantastic seasons, all we need now is a succesful relegation battle to complete a hatrick of great seasons. I still think we have better things to come. I do agree about the Championship though. It really is a fantastic league. It deserves much more coverage than it gets ie. better highlights. The fans are much more real than the prawn sandwich bunch of the Prem.
  5. Personally I think Adkins has tinkered too soon with our formation. Maybe under pressure from NC to fit Ramirez into the team and play the 'Southampton way'. We don't have a good balance between attack/defend playing this way.
  6. So no team in the bottom half plays 4-4-2 in the Premiership because they'll get torn to sheds? I can see your point but for me the full backs are really struggling so far and I think the 4-2-3-1 system is causing this due to the narrowness of the set up. Plus Lallana, JRod, Puncheon etc. don't seem to have learnt how to cover and defend effectively let. Especially Lallana and Puncheon.
  7. The silly formation is a big part of the defensive problem. 4-2-3-1. We are not good enough to play a system like this yet. Means the attack minded players struggle to get back and defend, our wings are exposed hence both full backs are struggling a great deal.
  8. Christ what an overreaction. Shall we burn him to the stake too? I personally got over the whole Redknapp saga ages ago. He is one of the best managers out there without a job. Still can't see it happening. Its like Hoddle again. Maybe Sturrock will come back?
  9. You could see Ramirez playing at the tip of the diamond. Just question whether we are good enough to play 4-3-3 regularly. It leaves the flanks exposed an our full backs very open. When we defend we don't appear to change into a 4-5-1 very effectively. That said we looked amazing in that second half against Villa with Ramirez. He is really is going to be a big player for us this season!
  10. I voted to sack him and feel guilty now. He needs a few more games but sadly the club comes first over loyalty.
  11. I think part of our defensive frailties are partly responsible with the formations we have been using. Last season 4-4-2 or 4-diamond-2 was hugely successful for us (got us promoted ffs!) and we have gone completely against it suddenly because we are in the Prem. Lambert had a partner who he could link up with. Full backs got forward. We still played great passing football but weren’t afraid to knock the diagonals to Lambert. So far in this league Lambert has proved he’ll win most balls against the best of defenders yet he is for a large part isolated on his own – especially away and if he is even playing. Fancy formations are better used for teams in the top half. For a promoted team to U-turn against the previous formation that was so successful is risky. It’s no wonder the team look completely in balanced and left open at the back. Obviously we all know our CB’s are not quite good enough but we can’t change that till January. Wanna see us play 4-4-2 on Sunday and would like to see Mayuka play off Lambert. 4-3-3 can do one for now. We simply are not good enough to suddenly adapt to a formation like that or the other weird one we use.
  12. Against Man City there was a degree of logic for bringing Lambert on later but Christ were playing West Ham here. Awful decision in a game that is gonna be won on aerial battles and our number one CF is on the bench for that useless bell Guly.
  13. Have we got one yet? You know Liverpool's chant where they slowly sing "Liiiiiverpool.. Liiiiiverpool." We could sing "Roooodriguez... Roooodriguez" Yes I'm bored at work!
  14. Villa are the next Blackburn waiting to happen. Thought they were absolutely rubbish against us. Could barely muster a chance. Typical huff and puff team. I expect to see them right down there this season. And as for the 19th minute applause. Pathetic. The man is in remission. Completely OTT and to expect us to join in with I warning is simply deluded.
  15. Have to take the positives from the 2nd half. Ramirez needs to start all the time now. We really cocked up the window for a CB. Huge fail.
  16. New to this streaming business. Do you need to download anything for HD?
  17. http://egotastic.com/photos/kate-middleton-topless-in-closer-magazine/kate-middleton-topless-closer-06/ Pretty terrible pictures but I can get around that.
  18. For me he is wasted on the wing and should play as a CF. Lambert's future replacement for me.
  19. Morgan all day. Best performance in a Saints shirt from him. Made Cleverley look completely average.... Which he is anyway tbh.
  20. I'm getting a bit sick of this bloke to be honest. What the f*ck does he know?
  21. Knowing Saints we'll go beat Man Ure and draw with Arsenal and we'll all be back in Champions league dream land.
  22. Its an utter waste to play JRod on the left. He clearly looks uncomfortable in that position.
  23. Well we're still very short of new signings and you can't help but think due us being a bit tight with the cash. That said in today's market maybe we're right to do so. Lets hope we get some new blood to feature in the Utd game. Oh and Rooney is out for our game. One small bonus.
  24. As soon as we went 4-4-2 Wigan bossed the possesion. Think we looked out of ideas when they scored. Up to then I'd say we were the better team. An early lesson and hopefully Cortese will take that padlock off his wallet and get some new blood in. As promising a youngster Ward-Prowse is you can't be bringing on a 17 year old to change the game in the Prem.
  25. It would be fantastic if we could pull of the Ramirez deal with him making his debut Saturday. It'll also be interesting to see how we play against a team known for its passing play. Could be a great footballing game.
