  1. Desperate times at St. Mary's. The worst home form in our history and if anything it's getting worse, not better Just like the 1-0 victory over Leicester proved crucial to our survival last season, I feel the two home defeats against Forest + Donny will prove decisive in this year's relegation
  2. Agreed. IMO the player in the lone striker role should, aa a minimum, be able to win headers and Paterson has been the only striker we've used this season who can do this. His movement and finishing aren't quite there yet, but I'm sure those qualities will improve with time....something we don't have unfortunately
  3. Still, on the bright side, at least we're finally showing some consistency
  4. Super Kenny Monkou and Killer
  5. Agreed, it's easy to justify not going to see Saints play by saying it's because of Lowe - when actually the 'real' reasons are: 1) It's not that enjoyable watching the team play - especially when we lose which is most weeks 2) There are no 'big' names or quality players in the team In that Echo article, those factors come across more strongly than any anti-Lowe feeling. The truth is, we don't have big players we don't play the big teams and we don't win as often...these have a much bigger effect on attendances than one man
  6. Yeah, cos he's really looked like scoring in the games he's played this season. I must have imagined it when he missed a header from six yards that would've put us ahead against Birmingham...he's such a proven goal scorer, he would never have missed a chance like that....surely...................................................................................... ... ................. .............................. . ........
  7. You could also argue that Rasiak weakens the Watford side due to his inability to close down from the front or retain possession from long balls... If he's not scoring, he can be a liability to a struggling team, and not just financially. I say, let them keep him!
  8. For the first time this season I had completely given up on the team at half-time. I would've put a large amount of money on defeat at that point.... Credit must be given to the players for having the belief and the fight to keep their heads up and play til the end. I've lost count of the times have we lost from 2-0 down, but very rarely have we gone on to win from that position (Fulham at home under WGS in 2002 maybe?) To do it away from home is all the more impressive - Just brilliant really
  9. "Referee looks at his wostle!!!" Full-time....GET THE **** IN THERE!!!!
  10. Blarrrghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
  11. Indeed, from an attacking point of view you can't get any worse than No shots on goal  It's been a very long time since we scored more than two goals away from home (Burnley away last season? and we had John in the side then) It basically means that the game is over whenever we let in 2 or more goals (which, let's face it is pretty often). It's a pretty sorry state of affairs
  12. Interesting point. For all the talk of experience and 'wise heads' being the definitive answer to succeeding in this league, the games against Preston and Sheff Wed were sharp exceptions to that rule. Team against Preston: (1-5) Davis, Ostlund, Dailly, Thomas, Ifil, Surman, Viafara, Safri, Dyer, Saganowski, Rasiak Team against Sheff Wed: (0-5) Davis, Andrew Davies, Dailly, Thomas, Skacel, Surman, Viafara, Safri, Euell, Saganowski, John Tons of experience there, but amounting to sound thrashings both times. Perhaps this Championship business isn't as easy as first thought.
  13. Maybe we could get Darren Powell back Or Telfer perhaps...
  14. We lost 4-1 to this side a few weeks ago, so I guess that's progress of sorts...still difficult to get too enthused by the side at the moment
  15. Yep, and even that was a miscued cross from BWP that pinged off Surman's head!!
  16. Who's playing left wing? The Coventry commentators aren't really going into too much detail on Saints' formation..etc

    Hypocrites

Agreed, and by all accounts Nigel Adkins (S****horpe manager) would be a better option than Pearson as manager due to his side currently sitting higher in the table than Leicester despite finishing below them in the championship last year Personally I find it hard to believe that any manager could succeed at a club where they are forced to play only the cheap, younger players and don't have any say in player recruitment. Basically we're screwed whoever's in charge
  18. Puts our penalty record to shame doesn't it!!
  19. I think people had every right to be worried after the defending on display against Coventry and Watford. Tonight's result was a good one, but we've a long way to go before we can say for certain that relegation is not a likely outcome. The defence needs to perform consistently before we can start thinking about looking up the table instead of down
  20. Perhaps most remarkably of all... we successfully defended a whopping 14 corners!! A marked improvement from Saturday (2 goals conceeded from 3 corners or whatever it was)
  21. Decent, battling performance by the sound of things. Considering we'd conceeded 7 goals in the two games prior to this, a shut-out at Bramall Lane is an encouraging result
  22. I reckon let Skacel take it. His pen in the playoff semi-final was class
  23. Survived two late free kicks just outside the box. Much improved from Saturday in that respect. Happy with 0-0, should be an interesting second half
  24. Indeed. In that respect JP is the ultimate 'Yes' man, and Lowe can effectively do as he pleases.
  25. Fookin hell. Watford have got a better goal-rate from corners than we do with penalties
