  1. We still need to be worried even at 3-0 up. Mk dons might start playing some of their famous 'flowing football that no other team in league 1 can live with'!
  2. And what will happen if we do any of those things? 'it'll give the oppohsition ah reeeeeal booooost'
  3. What about when proper football stops being effective? Isn't it better to be able to score using either style rather than just one?
  4. Yeah, 7 consecutive home league wins...reminds me of the last two seasons...........OH
  5. Norwich changed after about 20 odd games of consistent failure by Gunn, the team, the results, and the performances were getting worse and they got relegated. It was a matter of when, not if Gunn was going to get sacked. Anyway my point is that if Pardew's side was seen to be getting worse, results were deteriorating, we were conceding more goals, and scoring less then yes it would be right to be concerned. However the fact is we have improved over the course of the season, and the results stand up to that (compare Huddersfield away vs Huddersfield at home for example). Yes we need to be more consistent, and improve on dodgy away pitches, but no-one could objectively deny there's been improvement over the course of the season. IMO, Pardew should be judged on a full season (including pre-season). If the first few months of next season show worrying signs of deterioration, then I don't think anyone will have any complaints if NC wields the axe
  6. Not in central midfield we don't. If schneiderlin or Hammond is either injured or off form, we can only replace with Paul Wotton. For me this is a key area of squad depth which needs improving over the summer.
  7. Haha! Yeah, trust us to get the only honest French footballer!!
  8. Get in!!!!! Barnard's going to overtake Lambert at this rate!!!
  9. Not as bad as Millwall, they lost there. Good thing we're chasing such a bad team then for the playoffs
  10. If Saints get that second goal it'll be a reeeeeeeealll Boooooost
  11. First result very good. Second result bad. Still on the bright side we've had two consecutive away clean sheets, having gone the whole season prior to that without a single one. At least the defence is in good shape
  12. Yep, even as a self-confessed 'happy-clappy' I now know I was wrong to have thought the playoffs were still realistic. Ah well, let's just win the league next year shall we.
  13. Agreed. No-one who'd watched the three games we've played against MK Dons this season could dispute how vastly superior we were to them in every department. Only complacency will stop us beating them again
  14. I think yesterday's performance could be the turning point to our bad run of league form. One of two things will happen now: a) Yesterday's result inspires the team to go on a brilliant winning run which puts us right in amongst the playoff chasing pack come April b) Yesterday's result leads to complacency in the side and they take their foot off the gas in the so called 'easier' games against Wycombe and Walsall this week. This leads to a disappointing draw(s) and the aforementioned winning run never materialises. Fingers crossed it'll be a)
  15. I dunno, Huddersfield's away form is worse than ours is, and they've got more away games left than home games. Plus they still have 5 of the top 6 left to play (so we also need to factor in that when the top 6 play each other, we're guaranteed to gain a minimum of two points on one of those teams) Obviously it's an unlikely number of wins for us to get, but then the odds were firmly stacked against us to win at Carrow Road yesterday and we did.....and comfortably!
  16. Or....won 100% of games against top 6 teams in 2010!! Therefore we'll win the next 4 games against said top 6 teams! It's all about picking and choosing your statistics!
  17. To be fair though, one of those games was home to Wycombe. I actually think I caught him nodding off in that game he had so little to do!!!
  18. I don't think so personally. Back in November our cup victories complemented our league victories nicely and helped instill a winning mentality into the side. Unfortunately we had a bad run of form in January and the cup games coincided with our home league games. This meant we only played once at home in the league in January and, coupled with our dip in away form, resulted in a poor return of points. It would be easy to attribute the dip in form to the volume of cup games but I don't think that's the case. I think all teams have a dip in form at times and if we're to blame the cups for our bad run, we also have to credit the cup success for our earlier good run.
  19. Really? If we win our games in hand and beat Huddersfield. We'll have to make up 8 points on them from a possible 45....Doable. Just like beating Norwich today was doable despite being seemingly improbable!!!
  20. But then we'll still have 1 game in hand on Huddersfield as we're playing them...so if we beat them AND win our game in hand...that's 8 points behind!
  21. Great feetwork from Davis
  22. If we're comparing 26 year-old Perry vs. 26 year old Fonte, then yes Perry is better. 36 year old Perry vs. 26 year old Fonte is a different matter entirely. I agree that Perry reads the game better and is better at intercepting, blocking and maybe just shades it on tackling. But Fonte wins on aerial ability, strength, pace, stamina, passing, skill on-the-ball and goal threat at corners to list but a few attributes in which he's superior. There's a reason Pardew paid over £1million for Fonte and it certainly wasn't for him to be Perry's back-up!
  23. Because you've written off the season solely on the basis of recent form. If we beat Norwich, it'll prove that recent form doesn't always guarantee future results, and therefore cannot be used to write off the outcome of 18 forthcoming games of football.
  24. Well your conclusive prophecies are going to look pretty stupid if we win then aren't they?!
  25. Quick!! For God's sake buy the man a card!!! Have we learned nothing from the Delgado saga??
