  1. That's a really good point and I expect one of the main reasons people are so narked. There's been no warning that they were stopping the payment plan, so those hoping for a renewal have next to no time to sort out financing for such a huge outlay at such short notice. It's harsh on some fans that saints are being run on in a more business focused manner, but sometimes that's the price of progress. If that means some fans start going on a game by game basis instead of buying a ST then so be it.
  2. True, and with lower costs due to not having to administer the instalment scheme and write off the defaulters' bad debts, the end result is an increase in profits. At the end of the day, it's team performances and quality of football and players that fill stadia week after week - not season ticket deals.
  3. I hope the club releases some kind of explanation for stopping the payment plan. Fair enough if there's been a lot of people defaulting and therefore costing the club extra, but otherwise there doesn't seem to be any justification. Also the £3 internet booking fee is a total shambles
  4. They were all signed under Lowe's second regime whereby we clearly offered really low wages but ridiculously long contracts to players that no-one else wanted. It's fantastic how different our situation is now!!!
  5. Exactly! It's like saying "We heard a rumour from the SMS caterers and believed it because they have a financial arrangement with Southampton football club"!!! Complete BS
  6. Exam 1 finished. The camera crew have left and no sign of anyone remotely important. Oh and just to clarify I'm not a student, these are professional exams for honest tax-paying nerds
  7. You know a tax nerd? I'm taking the same exams in the mlt suite. Definitely something going on today. There's security directing people where to park...definitely be some news today I reckon. P.s. The JPT is not in the trophy cabinet, it's in the boardroom!
  8. The same Holloway that got Leicester relegated with plenty of money to spend? This 'choosing a manager' lark is a pretty inexact science. If AP is sacked, his replacement will have very little margin for error or he'll be sacked too, and he'll be lucky if he gets anywhere near a year to achieve success. As Man.City have found out, sacking a perfectly good manager doesn't always work
  9. Why is what they say any more reliable than someone posting on here? They've got no source, no pictures, just a claim of a meeting. In fact weren't they the ones that said WGS was definitely the new Leeds manager after he left us
  10. I'm with you on this one. If the club had a policy of instantly refuting every single half-a*sed rumour dreamt up by the media they'd have to spend the whole summer releasing statements! When there's something meaningful to tell us, I'm sure they'll tell us, but it'll be on their timescale and not that of the impatient few.

    NC

I actually agree with you here. No-one's suggesting Lambert is anywhere near the level of Torres, however the question that's realistically being asked is: What would you prefer over the course of the season (a) 46 matches worth of Lambert or (b) 20 matches worth of Torres? The answer is emphatically (a), simply because we'd stuggle in the matches where we were without our top striker
  12. Agreed, WGS had a fairly average start at Saints coming in way after the season had started, as he has done at Boro. But after a full pre-season and time to get his own team and backroom set-up we then finished 8th after his first full season in charge. I reckon next season Boro will do very well.
  13. It could all have been so different if Walsall had held on at 3-2...that late comeback by Huddersfield was the key moment in their playoff run. I think now they've got to be favourites to win the playoffs, hitting form at the best possible time
  14. Pretty shoddy journalism if you ask me. Writing a new story using the old story from earlier in the year and assuming nothing's changed. Since NC's comments were made we've pretty much been the best team in the league (form wise) and won the JPT. Something would have to go drastically wrong for this team to not be challenging for the title next year, and I don't believe for a second that NC would sack Pardew because the team didn't clock up the 90+ points required to make the playoffs.
  15. Didn't he go out on loan to Eastleigh earlier in the season? You'd have thought he'd have scored a shed load of goals at that level if he was to stand a chance of making it with Saints. I'm guessing he didn't do too well there or we'd have read about it on the OS (historically they only seem to report on our players out on loan when they do well!)

    Late Kick Off

How funny was Wally Downes!! Highlight was him saying Dan Harding's run up had a 'hint of lavender about it' Haha!
  17. Absolutely. Whereas last season we needed quantity because we were lacking in most areas of the team, next season we need quality. Thankfully this summer we have the infrastructure, scouting network and contacts to bring that quality in to the club.
  18. Brilliant post. Totally agree with the sentiments there. It's great being able to look forward to the summer transfer window for once!
  19. Yeah we've been playing shi*e ALL SEASON haven't we?? Utter shi*e! Heaven forbid that the ONLY results you are prepared to discuss are the bad ones. You're a pain in the arse you really are
  20. Does anyone else think the way the dodgy Pompey administrator talks about the club's prospects is rather similar to Comical Ali from the Iraq war!! Instead of "The infidels will be crushed by sundown" Read "We are extremely close to securing a buyer" or "We will be successful in our appeal to play in Europe" hahaha. Keep dreaming mate
  21. The trouble was though, we badly needed another creative winger to add competition for Lallana. Puncheon fits that role perfectly and was an excellent signing. We've signed a lot of players because we've been short of quality and depth in key areas, of which CM was probably the lowest priority. Over the summer though, it will be the main priority and I'm looking forward to seeing who we bring in.
  22. Too true. Now if only we had a f*ck load of money with which to strengthen over the summer..oh wait we do
  23. Ahhhhhh like that moo-reeeen-yooo
  24. I reckon the bbc 'possession measurer' has fallen asleep

    Last 14 games

Or you could say, if it weren't for the outstanding wins against Norwich, Leeds, Bristol Rovers and most crucially the demoralising thrashing of Huddersfield, the tussle between us and Huddersfiled would have been over a long time ago....in their favour
