Well that was a million times better than the Leicester game. First half very tight, but we had the most stonewall penalty I've ever seen turned down, and they score from a corner despite kelvin being assaulted!! Second half we were back to our best and could easily have won. If we maintain that level of performance from now til the end of the season we will win this league.

Hurray, it wasn't a dream, he really did sign!!
-
Wow, way to write off a player after one game. Best not tell spurs they've just signed such a useless player, that's all Harry needs right now
-
Who cares about signing a new defender, with all the goals we'll be scoring now we don't need a defence!
-
Bad day at the office, file under Brentford, Rochdale, Ipswich as a hopeless 2-0 home defeat that we never looked like winning. On the plus side, if we beat Cardiff next week we'll be 4 points clear in the auto promotion slot

Excellent, so perhaps the club are letting him take his time before making his final departure. There's no rush, we've got 20 league games left of the season. If our new striker has to miss one of those games to make his move halfway across the world as comfortable as possible, so be it. If he scores goals as good as this one, he can take another week IMO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuU2lXB09TE&feature=related

Let's say you're right and getting into the UK is really easy. Does anyone actually know how easy the procedure for exiting Japan is? Cos if they don't then all this paranoia and speculation is pretty pointless

Sounds awesome!!

After a slightly dodgy start, we soon took complete control of the game. The fact that Brighton didn't have their first shot on target until 60 minutes tells its own story. We played with a diamond formation, Guly at the top, Cork on the right. At times it changed to a 4-3-3 as Lambert and Connolly pulled wide. We created some excellent chances through patient passing moves which gathered pace as we got into the final third. Guly was superb in his free-roaming role, and Connolly looked back to his best - linking up very well with Lallana (as he always does). You could tell from the reaction of the players that Lallana's shot had crossed the line, and how Guly missed from 6 yards I'll never know. 2-0 at half time would not have flattered us. Second half started much like the first, Saints in total control. Fox should have scored as he burst into the box, and then Lambert was shoved to the ground in the penalty area...no idea why a pen wasn't given. Rickie then got sent off for a push on El-Abd after he'd been hauled to the ground and held down by the bald-headed ****. Can't argue with the red card, and from then on we were never going to win. Our shape and formation completely nullified them with 11 men, but with 10 men that shape and formation disappeared and we lacked any focal point to our attacks. If we had kept with 11, we would have definitely won the game. Forte came on, and tried hard, but he can't lead the line. Brighton utilised their extra space very well. Their first goal should have been smothered by Kelvin, although he did make a world class save before that. 2nd goal was a brilliant strike, and the third was a lucky deflection. All in all, an excellent first 50 minutes, ruined by the sending off, and highlighting how shallow our squad is. This transfer window will determine whether we finish top 2 or not, if we make 2 or 3 quality signings we will go up. It's as simple as that.

Hooiveld for me was outstanding, had CMS in his back pocket and his distribution in the first half was excellent, starting off a lot of our good passing moves. Cork and Hammond both put in a good shift, and Connolly did very well whilst we had 11 men as did Guly in the free role at the top of the diamond, but Jos for MOTM

Happy top of the league Christmas!!
-
Hammond for me, quality spirited performance. Him and cork ran the midfield, jos a close second
-
I predict we'll finish in the top six, minimum. However if we make two quality signings in January, we'll go up automatically
-
What on earth are you talking about? We 'screwed up ' in the summer did we? Maybe we should have taken the Ipswich approach and spent tons on 'quality' players, disrupting the squad and upsetting the balance and momentum built up from last season. Every time saints have a poor result, you seem to think you've somehow been proved right about your ludicrous prediction of 17th. You haven't. We're still top. Deal with it.

Every team has a bad patch, last year, qpr only won one of their away games in the whole of December and January combined, but still won the league. The January transfer window will be crucial in remedying our away form, we know we've got the funds, so no need to panic yet. Sent from my HTC Wildfire using Tapatalk

Jack Cork is the best thing that's happened to our midfield for a LONG time

Cortese was the one to convince Markus to buy the club in the first place, he can take whatever salary he wants IMO
-
Best passer at the club, and most complete all-round striker we've had since Beattie (before he turned shyte!) Great news

Saints sign 21 year old Dale Stephens on loan - official

On current form, I'd stick Pulis on there in place of Chappers! -
Whilst we're on the subject, does anyone know why the Plymouth game has a kick-off of 12:30 this Saturday? Is it on sky?
