I really enjoy this reasoning and was wondering how many Soton folk would think like this. I'm glad there was at least one. I have no allegiance to New Orleans but from what I can tell from afar it's a decent-to-well run organization, it has a legit quarterback in Drew Brees (a must in today's NFL), a good owner, a wonderful fanbase, and an excellent coach in Sean Peyton. Their offseason move of Reggie Bush (out) for Darren Sproles (in) was initially considered good, then considered genius. I haven't checked in with them lately (perhaps you know more?) but despite last weekend's debacle against St. Louis (really? St. Louis? Wow.) they are still in 1st place and you must be enjoying the season. My team is the Cleveland Browns, and sadly that means eons of disappointment. This year proving no different.

It's a good point, but I think it's slightly misguided: We have one of the top 10 wealthiest owners in English football. That's different than being a top 10 wealthiest club, isn't it?

If you had the choice of one of the following, which would you choose? A) Manager of the Month B) Manager of the Year I know those are winnable at the same time, so it's possibly not a fair question, but I'm not upset about this decision as he so far is CLEARLY the Manager of the Year. And if things remain the same he will earn that award, which seems more prestigious to me.

For a long time there it felt like there was no future, until the old administration finally left and we were given a virtual clean slate. Sounds like that's where Coventry are now.

I'll do it. Correction: he doesn't turn 30 until 31 December, so he's still 29. I know I don't like it when people tell me I'm older than I actually am, so give the guy his due. But you're right about 9 clubs. He's been mostly in Italy...he started in Brazil (naturally) and made a move to Catania in 2002. He was in Italy until he came to Saints in 2010.

Don't worry, we all hate it too. -
He's politically correct. I think the guy has bounced around between so many different clubs and organizations over his career that he's learned the hard way about how it's just business and he won't turn his back on anyone at anytime. He won't say something that could hurt his future elsewhere, so he's saying all the right things from his point of view. He also won't talk about how much he loves one club because he knows they could ship him off in a moment's notice. I bet that if SFC, Jos, and Celtic all agreed to make his loan permanent you'd hear a different interview.

We currently have the digital version of Time Warner Cable. We do not have any special package that I know of (no HBO, Showtime, etc) but we have FSP. At a previous apartment we had RCN (probably not available in Vegas, but maybe?) and we paid an extra $5 per month for the sports package. It was so totally worth it...but I don't know if you like the rest of American sports. -
The way Dave Merrington described Zaha, I think it would be wonderful if we could sign him in the future. That's what I took from the game.

The name Alex Pearce sounds like a hot-but-crazy chick in a terrible reality TV show. I guess I could have left "terrible" out of that sentence since it's implied.

A friend of mine and I will be at Nevada Smiths for the dodgy internet stream this week. I emailed a list of people, too, so maybe I'll bring a few more, but there should be at least the two of us. See you then! -
Yes. As long as the asking price isn't TOO high, yes. He's started every game since his arrival - clearly he's our best option in NA's opinion. If they want something absurd then I guess not.

Yeah thanks to you I was able to pull it off and watch the game too. Good times! Although frustrating that we couldn't put one more in the net. -
That's sad, of course, but in jest.... I thought he died 8 years ago! Actually, I believe this will do wonders for the Raiders franchise. I'm not sure who the new owners will be, but I can't imagine they will make decisions like Darius Heyward-Bey again.

Haha. Have you done the research to where the RedBulls got Luke Rodgers? That guy was toiling in League 2 for a while...the Saints and everyone else could have had him for a penny.
-
Yup - I'm delighted and extremely optimistic for the future now that after 10 games we are in first place. I never thought this would be the case and even if we fall back to the pack we can still feel strong about the places our team will be going in the coming months/years. So pleased!

Thanks for that - it was a good read and educational too. How much would Southampton fans require to sell him off? I'm not going to do the dumb and blind "he's priceless!" because that's not true. You'd sell him for 50 million for sure, which means he's not priceless. So if Alex Ox-Chamberlain is worth 12 million, I'd say that to the Saints right now... Rickie is probably worth about the same. Maybe 10 million. Anything higher and we should definitely take it.

Nice! Thanks for that, mate. I'll definitely be checking my listings each weekend. Hopefully the website matches up with my tele. You're right - that $20 month isn't really up my alley just yet - but perhaps next year? -

Oops, sorry about that. I should clarify: it lists the game as live on foxsoccer.tv (what is that?) but not as a repeat at 2 pm. -

Hi there... when I check here: http://www.livesoccertv.com/schedules/2011-10-22/ it doesn't list this game. Are you sure about it? Where are you getting your info?
