It says at the bottom of our summary page: Strengths: attacking down the wings Style: attack through middle So which is it?!?

The place we usually go is Legends on 33rd near 5th Ave across from the Empire State Building (when we do meet up, that is). Unfortunately this game is during work hours so I don't expect many (any?) of us to make it.

Love that the WSJ randomly picked up on him. Their sports coverage is usually insightful and well respected (Jason Gay is an excellent writer there, too). Not much is really said there, but it's nice to see it regardless.

Or, by that train of thought, Bob Bradley. He just signed in Norway, but he's got a recently promoted team into 3rd place. He's always wanted to coach in Europe although I don't think he had Norway in mind.

He's on the masthead of this site. Isn't that proof of his status? Love the guy I almost named my cat after him.
-
No. He's not out for the season. They are unsure of his exact timeline, as is the case with any injury, but hopeful that he will return before long. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25261235

Re: Guly To be clear, I recall reading a quick note from the club in late October stating that Guly had had a knee operation and would be out until the New Year. Haven't heard anything about his recovery since then. Hope that helps.

If this is the case, the holiday fixtures are going to destroy us.

Cropper seemed pretty good in the two USA U-21 games that I watched this past summer.

I'll be at Legends at 33rd near 5th Ave (across from the Empire State Building) for the Arsenal game on Saturday. Anyone reading this should join me.

Just to be clear about Dickson, he is now with Colchester United. And he took three different loan spells during his time here.

Lawro has us winning against Hull 2-0. The guest has us winning 1-0.

Southampton Arsenal Chelsea United Duh. How wouldn't Saints be first?
-
Of course he loves it. A) He's a key part of a defense that's given up 3 goals in 9 games and is top two in all of major European leagues B) He's on team that is in 5th place and competing for European spots C) He's scored 2 goals (well, one officially, but we all know that he scored two) What's not to love? Anyone would love it here if they had those things going for them.

Who's buried in Grant's Tomb?
-
Two or three unlucky injuries and he's starting for us. Isn't that enough reason to keep him around? The 12 million is money already spent. Let's make do with what we have and not keep harping on about what we did over a year ago.

I always like Joe Montana back in his 49er days, but now I really love him. What a fella!

I had to watch the first part of the game on a dodgy firstrowsports stream before I was finally able to get the NBC Live Extra feed to stream (it was my fault for not looking into it sooner). WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! The NBC quality is so so so nice compared to whatever questionable source I've used in the past. Thank you NBC. Thank you thank you.

Southampton in nosebleed territory but soaring Saints are a work in progress
DanW replied to Saint86's topic in The Saints
I enjoy the picture of Rickie in the advert at the bottom for the Premier League Roundup. -
I'd like to see K. Davis Chambers Hooiveld Yoshida Fox...but I think he's hurt...so our U-21 LB should take this place S. Davis Cork Gaston Isgrove Lee Rodriguez Bench Cropper JWP Sinclair Rowe Stevens Reed ....and one more player from the U-21s that has earned a place.

Why aren't we comparing the 5 games we've played this year versus our results against the same teams in the same venues last year?
-
I agree - I don't think he meant quiet in any form other than "this is someplace new that is not the media center of the country" and "this is not one of the biggest covered teams in the league." And while I would like SFC to become more covered, sometimes you need to roll with the attributes that you have, and in this case it worked for Osvaldo.

Due to the reasonable showings in their first two games, the Cleveland Browns are actually being given some respect. No one thinks they'll be great, but they might finish 8-8. HOLY COW 8-8! That's amazing! They are traditionally the dregs of the league. I'd be delighted to finish that well. Wheedon seems to grasp the offense a little more, Richardson will not have broken ribs again this season, Josh Gordon seems like a decent receiver, and their defense is looking okay, too. Barkevious Mingo (what a name) had a lung injury so we're not really sure where he stands, but if he can play even half the season he should be a good contributor. Anyway, I'm excited for the Brownies. Stupidly, I know, but it's fun nonetheless.

Steve de Ridder has a pop at English football culture
DanW replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
I would like to emphasize this point. I agree fully. I am sad to hear that at SFC one needs to have a fancy car to be accepted as a member of the squad, and Steve was claiming that he didn't have one so he felt like an outsider. It's true that being a star player would probably counter that element some, but it doesn't mean he is wrong. (And for what it's worth, I enjoy a simple breakfast, too.)
