  1. Just need to pick a team that can last 90 minutes - those that can't get subbed early (can we sub 10?)
  2. We look useless and spiritless, there's lots of excuses but none of them wash
  3. Chris Nicholl was not a great manager for Saints, he presided over the slump in our fortunes where we went from 8 years as a class team to struggling Saints, then the all too familiar managerless Saints. Sure he had some success - cup semis etc. - but Jimmy Case rather than Steve Williams was the start of the downward spiral.
  4. I really hope that Adkins doesn't get screwed over like so many manager's we've had - 14 years at Sc*nthorpe, 14 weeks at Southampton? At least he'd be able to spot and handles injuries better than usual
  5. Managerless Southampton crash 3-0 at home to stuttering Swindon. Striker banned for next game. Season about to go down the pan?
  6. The manager is responsible for the results, the players the performance. Neither are quite up to scratch just yet. Both need to get going this afternoon.
  7. we are a one man team and he's not playing
  8. and the strip, it's crap really isn't it
  9. Oh dear, now we have to show we can cut through them not just put crosses in the box and fail to convert
  10. bitter and twisted former ITK's who backed the wrong horse
  11. shoot the messenger!
  12. Don't forget the rules say you have to play most of your first choice team - to be honest we were really lucky to get past Torquay on penalties last year. No matter how good you are, cups need a big slice of luck, so another final in the coming season would be a major achievement, and concentrating on the league may be forced on us anyway.
  13. Sadly Lee Holmes is a waste of effort - if he was going to recover he would have made it by now, deserves a place only above Pulis
  14. Made some games much more exciting last season, knocking the ball past the last man, then sprinting for the penalty area. Smashed a great goal in the JPT. However, he doesn't have any close control and should have learned by now, so probably won't be good enough for the top flight and not good enough to spend a lot of money on - 100k great, but 500k?
  15. We've got a decent first team, it picks itself and no reason to think we can't start well, just need the extra signings for true strength in depth and a bit of variety, Jason won't be brilliant every game, and we need some pace to throw on

    Memberships

There is almost zero chance of sell outs, tickets for the JPT final were easy to come by, memberships don't appear to convey any advantage when regular gates are 10k under capacity - save your money until we are back in the top flight

    Memberships

Memberships were useful when the games were selling out. Not much chance of that for a while yet. Might be useful if members don't have to pay the ticket tax
  18. Just another PR problem for the club. It would be easy to put a gloss on this that would make it look less abusive, but they seem to prefer to be seen as arrogant
  19. Wasn't so long ago he was comedy Kelvin, how the Sunderland fans laughed when we took him on and how right they were in that first season of unbelievable howlers. Still last year was a good one and he should serve us well for a year or two yet, before we return to the 'big time', at which point most of the current team, if not all, will be gone
  20. Is it just white on the back, except for red number, lettering?
  21. Clearly these must be poor decisions to create such a response. There are surely ways to balance the books and ensure the club is ready to meet the new UEFA rules, without causing such a furore. You can't treat your customers like Gerald Ratner did without paying a price for it. If you're going to rip us off, at least be more subtle about it.
  22. It's a rip off. 20% on the ticket price is far too much.
  23. £3! approaching 20% on top of the ticket price is a bit steep. Looks like I won't be increasing my visits this season.
  24. Lloyd James was often our only creative player in October/November and was key in the good spell we had. Now we have better players we need to take the risk of letting him go, but he's getting a lot of harsh criticism for someone who didn't do that bad a job
  25. I remember the Dell feeling quite deserted when we lost 2-6 to Spurs - it's only a game!
