Sorry, it's all my fault, wearing a Pellegrino era shirt, have swapped to a Koeman era shirt now, 3-2 win coming up.

Actually cannot wait for tomorrow's match. Got free Prime setup ready and have a sneaky suspicion that Djenepo is going to win the match for us. No idea why, just think that after the hassle he gave Che on Tuesday, he now has to step up. But, back to the thread, Merry Christmas Saints fans, here's to a brighter 2023 for us all.

What is the best goal you've ever seen live at a Saints game?
CylonKing replied to tunit's topic in The Saints
Lambert v Stoke free kick at St Mary's, was right behind it in the Kingsland and could see as soon as it left his boot it was on its way in over the keeper. Lemina away at WBA as well, in the 3-2 win in the Pellegrino season. -
I agree with Madge. We need a level of unpredictability and we have very few players who can deliver. We should play 432 and have Moussa floating around. Just make sure he's not near a touchline when he picks up the ball. Desperate times, desperate measures!

Born in Winchester and moved up to Nottingham in 1984 when I was 11. Usually get to all the local Midlands games each season, though missed Leicester and Wolves due to other plans. Aiming to get to Leeds and Forest if tickets reach general sale. Usually get to 1 home game at least each season, targeting Palace this time. Love being back in Southampton when we can get down, always have a great time! Edit: Forgot, there are a fair few Saints fans in Nottm, been stopped a few times when wearing colours to chat with fellow fans, both me and my wife work with other fans as well.

"Stick yer 9-0 up your a*s" That was a great match to be at. LIke The Cat, this would be one I would go to being down the road but also away this weekend. Hopefully this is the match where Vardy finally gets booked for diving.

I can't even be bothered to respond fully any more. Money and the 'riches' of the Premium League are killing not just football but sport in general. Where has the fun gone? I'd rather see a team enjoying themselves and having fun than the deadly serious sh*te we're served. Southampton forever, just go out and express yourselves and enjoy it. Rather that than just trying to make money for no one.

On the bright side, at least Bompey lost as well...oh!

It was good for 20 minutes. Have had to stop listening. Same old, same old. So disappointing! ☹️

Start of the season optimism kicking in maybe, but I think we're going to get something out of this. I'm going for a 1-2 win for Saints. Early Saints goal (A. Armstrong) cancelled out by a Spurs numpty, only for JWP to score from a free kick or place the ball on someone's head for the winner.

I'm an optimist when it comes to Saints, so top 4 will do, top 6 will be a disappointment. 😉

No matter what, every new season I'm so optimistic that this is the one that... Our keeper is going to do a Shilton / Niemi and be stunning We've found the next Beattie / Pahars / Davies / Insert great striker we've had here Our defensive partnership is going to gel and be as good as, well, the last best defensive partnership we had. Mine would be Claus and M.Svensson. I'm on a mixture of wine, Jack Daniels and copious amounts of German beer. I'm always hopeful that Saints might buck the trend and be something more than strugglers. To be honest, living in Nottingham, I'm just hoping we manage not to lose to Forest this next season because this lot up here are desperate to rub someone's nose in it that isn't Derby, and I have a big, family nose!

I'm calling it now, European place for Saints next season. Didn't watch the match, have never seen the new players before, but just have a feeling that this is our season. That is not the drink or the everlasting hope talking at all. No-sir-ree-bob! This coming season is THE ONE.

Unless it's at Swansea in the FA Cup. He turned that game around for us from the bench. Wish him all the best, has been a model professional with Saints, no disruption, gave 100% and seems like a genuinely decent chap that has left us with some very memorable moments. £12m well spent in my view.

We've signed a young player...a highly regarded one at that? Nah, don't believe it, surely Kerry Dixon and David Speedie are available these days. What's Dave Beasant up to nowadays? (to be fair, he was decent for us). We've already got hotels booked for next season in the Midlands and down Sowff for matches we can make and hopefully get tickets for. Please, please beat Forest at the Sh*tyy Ground. As ever, excited for the new season, hopes are high that this is the one that clicks and Ralph takes us somewhere! Welcome Gavin, our expectations are low, our hopes are high. Niemi is yours...and our benchmark, good luck!

There's always one who has to bring it back to football on a football forum. As we only got to 1 home game, it has to be Villa, it was a win that we actually played well in.

That poll is immediately null and void for not having Rammstein in it. Easily the best live band I've ever seen by a country mile. Also, Rage against the Machine, really? The most boring live band I've witnessed. Kiss followed them at Finsbury Park and blew them off the stage, another great live band that isn't included. Only my opinion, but I'm so right! 😉
-
Cheers, we'll give that a go in the future, looks good.
-
Go on, tell us the name of the pub. Interested in going being close to Leicester.
-
Going to this game seeing as it is so close to us, got a 100% win rate this season...but we've only got to Sheff Utd and Villa at home. 😁 Not expecting much to be honest.

Always thought we've looked better with A. Armstrong in the team. A bit like Che in that he gets in the right places for an attempt but just takes the wrong option. With more game time, I think he'll be good for us, but needs to be in the team.
