But don't you see, Cortese and Adkins don't get on. (we have evidence of this, apparently.) Adkins is bound to move to Villa because they have a brilliant squad (we know this because at least 12 players would get into our side) there chairman has lots of ambition (because he said so in some newspaper, wait, didn't our chairman also say he had ambition?) and lets not forget they are a HUGE club, (much bigger than lowly Southampton). Can i just say something, why does it make Villa's squad not poor if their players can get in our lineup? It is an unfair comparison, if we kept the same squad we would undoubtedly be relegated, so why does saying 'well they can get in our side' make them not poor?

Why did Martinez turn down Villa last summer? Villa is a bigger club than Wigan. It is also a bigger club than Saints. That does not mean to say Adkins would immediately jump ship.

TBF, Villa's comparison IS poor, as would ours be if we do not strenghten. Ask any Villa fan and they will tell you their squad is poor...

Holden and Lee definitely, Scharner yes - always need versatility and like you said solid, kyriagos no for me, Peinnar unsure - obviously a good player but not sure where he'd fit in and will likely stay at Everton anyway, not seen a lot of Dos Santos but I've heard good things and plays RM I think, so think I would take him as well.

Chung Yung Lee from Bolton anyone? Was injured for most/all of this season but RM, hardworking, would link up well with Tadanari and is pretty good from what I've seen of him. Thoughts? I can't work out if Lee's runs our intelligent and we're not finding them; or that they're just the same run every time (in behind the defender and over the top,) and it's virtually impossible for someone to get it up and over the defender from the position they're in and get it to Lee. I'm beginning to think the latter but still, did well for the second goal and he still makes things happen!

Was Guly one of our better players today? For me - no. Was he one of our weaker players today? For me - yes. Did I sit and slag him off all game and give him constant abuse? And did he deserve the critiscm? No. Getting on his back is going to do nothing apart from make him play worse. (and annoy everyone around you and make you like a nob) I still believe he could have given a bit more effort but it's just not his style of play to sprint about all over the place like a headless chicken like Chaplow. Nigel obviously thinks he's doing a good enough job for the team and (for the moment) thats good enough for me. However just because your against the criticism for Guly (I certainly am) doesn't mean you have to say he played well, because a lot of the time he hasn't.

He was kitted out in full saints gear and when their was a short stoppage in play and some of the team went to the touchline to get drinks, he waddled out and started translating what Adkins was saying for Lee

I thought OWTS was sung well yesterday actually, 2 slow verses of it is enough and seems to work I think.

Anyone else think the chapel helped a bit in getting the penalty last night?!!! I know their not normally the noisiest bunch but they gave him plenty of stick (well for them anyway) for not giving that penalty, and the ref did look pretty anxious when what looked like the whole stand were shouting CHEAT CHAET CHEAT at him just before the handball. May just be me but little things play on the ref's mind and after that he must of known he made the wrong decision.
