No I really am not, I if I am not watching saints play am listening to them play, where ever I am in the world and it has been like that for more years than I care to think of. My last word on my, probably foolish post. I dont get all this hate, never have, feels a bit moronic, dont like it, dont get it but every one to their own I guess.

I think if you research the animousity that a lot of the ill feeling does go back to naval and inter port disputes, but excusing my ignorance the point I am making is I do not have any animousity to Portsmouth football club and am just raising my head to see if I am alone in my feelings. I dont want to get into abuse with any one that feels the opposite...... what ever. I just do not get this requirement to show your "allegiance to the shirt" by all this machismo and what seems to me like purile hate filled abuse, to after all supporters that are our near neighbours and who after all exactly like us, loving their home town team.

Reading this post just makes me realise how totally different people can be. Ive supported the saints now for I am shocked to say for around 50 years. Nothing clever about that just a numerical fact. I dont feel Ive "done my bit" I simply get great enjoyment out of supporting my home town club but never really felt I played any part in making my team succesful by my support. I am going to come out and say, I do not understand this hate thing we have to have about Portsmouth f.c. I know its going back to the real ill feeling during the docks strikes but come on I think we can get over that now. It seems really childish, but I am interested to know if any one else feels the same. Any way I m just going to say it again, I dont hate pompey, dont think a lot about them. Definately want us to beat them but no more than any other time we play.

Yeah Bart had a Stinker, maybe its a position that needs lookin at, maybe, but I would leave that decision to Adkins. What Bart needs now is support, hes worked hard without too many games, I guess that cant be too easy. My message is Alpine, As much for your sake as ours, move on and "support" [in the loosest sense of the word]" another club. Good luck elsewhere

Am not looking for an arguement. Just think people should get in to perspective that as bad or as good as our away form is we are top. Am trusting Adkins to improve away form as I think he has probably also noticed that it could be better? I know its a weakness on my part but I just get irritated that some people on here just revel in the negatives when there is so much good about our current team.

What position are we in? Oh yes we are top, aah now I see the problem.

I think he is trying to get perspective on our current position and quite right too. He is probably reacting to the slight air of discontent emitting in the main from this forum. Starting to hear on here and on the saints player commentary complaints and questions about Adkins. One person even saying yesterdays tactics/result prove Adkins will be no more than a lower league manager. I beg to differ. If before the season started I was told we were going to be top of the league above West Ham after 20 games I would have found it hard to believe. So I just want to put on record I think we have a great team in place, playing some of the best football I have seen us play for many a year and although it is inevitable we will lose games and even have off days, I am very impressed with the progress we have made in the last few years. [now waiting for the moronic happy clapper comments].

We have had some sides with great players in like Shilton, keegan, golac, watson, mills, ball,paine, davies,channon, le tissier,osgood and too many to mention and not many of our current players can match some of those guys. How ever we do have something really exceptional going on right now. Adkins has got the team playing together in the true sense of the word and a system that works. I couldnt imagine us having a long bad run now. Of course we will lose games, but the way he draws his "blue line" under each game is a very clever way of not carrying fear or a lack of confidence into the next game. He is a very clever manager with a very professional well drilled set of players and we should really enjoy what is going on at the moment because the golden times really do not come along often.

Funny you should say that but quite often. I love seeing that we have lost less than any other team [same as middlesborough] won more than any one else, brilliant goal difference. 5 points above 2nd. 9 points above 7th place etc.etc. Ive even shown the wife and daughter, who I must say feigned interest fairly well. It doesnt come along often with Southampton so Im going to enjoy it while I can. If we can win saturday..........................................!!??

What truely shocks me is that any of us feel it worth reacting to the troll A_S. Can we just all please ignore it as at that point it just may stop wasting its time. I would say with certainty that this particular troll is a Portsmouth supporter, simple enough to keep enjoying the same repetetive joke, Ie winding up true saints fans by continually decrying the teams status and efforts.

Not brilliant.. We had good possession in the first half, started well. Kept the ball but no real penetration. De Ridder started well but ended up quite ineffective. Schniederlin was our stand out player, hes definately a premiership player. Just knew as the game went on we would have a problem. Second half Crystal Palace seemed to get their confidence. More direct than us and for all our possession they had more chances. Forte not good enough unfortunately, dont see him playing again. Changes made too late to effect the game. Understand all the changes and if it enables us to win on Saturday then fair enough. We are definately a quality striker light but I think we all know that. Good to see Barnard back, wish he had started. Raoll on Saturday.

Obviously too early to be called the best Manager since Ted bates. Adkins will do well to better what Mcmenemy achieved. Do I think Adkins has it in him to become the best manager since Ted Bates, well thats the right question. Hes had a bloody good start, hasnt he. I think hes great as did the S****horpe supporters before us. Hes got a great future and hopefully with us.

Troll alert!!!!!

It does seem a shame that the troll is allowed to post on this, generally very good forum. I have this mental picture of an over weight, spotty, pale individual. The type that would have a clammy, limp hand shake who is unable to make eye contact with any one he meets incase they can tell from his shifty eyes what he has just been doing for the 10th time that morning.

I rarely post, although I visit the site regularly for any snippets of news etc. This Alpine guy, from what I can tell is the definition of a troll. Unfortunately as I guess I am doing by mentioning it the only way to deal with a troll is to totally ignore it. I have a feeling that even insulting it gives it the attention it craves.

That was a good interview. Hope we are not heading for a fall. [sorry about that, a life time of supporting the saints] Cant think of another manager I would rather have managing us. What a genuine guy. Deserves all the success coming to him.

The most amazing fact is that Adkins is only going to make us better.

Amazing start. A total bonus. I would have taken 7 points after first seven games, so couldnt be happier. Think next 2 games will be tough. Will need to use the squad, if we can beat Burnley I will be in heaven.
