  1. I just don't get the reasoning behind it though, surely you'd expect them to be everything they could to incourage existing and new season ticket sales???
  2. Not only that though mate but would you still go to all the games? Hartlepool, Tuesday night December 18, I'd seriously think about staying at home in the warm with no season ticket!!!
  3. Have the club shot themselves in the foot here?? I have 2 season tickets and will not be in a posistion to stump up the cash in advance, not by the end of June anyway! That's the end of 20 years as a season ticket holder! How many other fans are going to be hit the same way?? My big worry is this, I've seen it happen to all my mates, once they'd given up the season ticket they stopped going, at first it was a case of "I'll still go, I'll just pick my games" but when it came to getting down the ticket office they couldn't be arsed!!! I hope this don't happen to me but I've seen it happen!!! I don't know if your interested but maybe by joining this group the club may listen http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=127219507306704#!/group.php?gid=127219507306704&ref=mf I know its a bit sad but i don't know what else to do!!
  4. On what basis do you "trust the board to pick the right man"? Would this be the same board who picked Pardew? If Pardew is now the wrong man that would their success rate in this field 100% wrong!!!! I believe they were 100% right in appointing Pardew, I just don't get this complete blind loyalty to the board. Yes we should and will be eternally grateful for them taking over but surely we haven't relinquished our right to question their decisions??
  5. In fairness all the media seem to be doing at the minute is asking the question "what's going on" nobody on Late KO said his job was hanging by a thread, just that they didn't know what was going on!
  6. Don't see why it'd make the media or fans look stupid? There is something going on behind the scenes, if it turns out to be a new contract then I'd be well happy, but the media would of been proved right for thinking something was up!!
  7. All 3 pundits saying "what's going on @ Southampton, surely Pardew's done a good job"
  8. The clever money???? But according to various posters on here, there'd be no book open!!!
  9. Fook me, how can there be no market? You could walk into Ladbrokes today and ask to place a bet on Saints to be Champions of Europe by 2015, they'd compile the odd's, take your money and hey presto there is now a book open! As an earlier poster said "the bookies closed the book on over the rainbow" they will take a bet on anything!
  10. A bookie with morals, whatever next :-)
  11. Finally, someone who see's it for what it hopefully is! I've never said I believe this means the end of Pardew just reporting that Ladbrokes in Woolston would not take a bet, that's all, also there is no poster saying "Hughes in" just an employee saying "that's what's he's heard". Fan after fan came in the Alfred after the game saying the exact same thing!
  12. How does one judge someone without comparing them? Surely you need to look at someone cv before hiring them?
  13. I agree, Pardew is far from perfect, never understand why he continues to sub Barnard?? But he deserves at least another season here!!
  14. The £3m doesn't come into play when your looking at his record when your looking at his other clubs, his record stands up pretty well against most, imho, better win ratio that Mark Hughes, Sam Alladyce and this years manager of the season Harry Redknapp!!!
  15. None of whom have a record like Alan's!
  16. I think that's a little unfair on Pardew, the leagues are littered with managers that have failed with money to spend!
  17. Including Saints???
  18. Who, with a record like Pardew's?
  19. I agree, they have invested in the new training facility and the team, they have appointed a proven, successful Premiership English manager, they now need to back him, just release a statement outlining that!
  20. But with who? Everyone on here seems to agree that Hughes dropping down to this level is about as likely as John W3stwood getting laid, so who out there has a record as good as Al's? Let's just hope that it's all just pub talk and there's nothing in it, if we're still signing (Brighton rb) you'd guess it's with the managers blessing, our current manager!
  21. Fingers crossed!
  22. Is he though, surely the manager is the only man that can deliver the success? Sure, the owner pumps in the money, the Chairman hires and fires staff but it's the manager that makes the signings, builds the team, forms tactics, makes the decisions, without a good manager it doesn't matter how much money you throw at it, you won't win anything!
  23. I don't think anyone is slagging Mr. Cortesse of, just questioning (if rumours are true) the wisdom of replacing Pardew! Also Mr Cortesse is a paid member of staff, it's Mr. Liehber we be fooked without!
  24. I hope he has, this could all just be rumour with no substance..........here's hoping anyway!
