  1. The worst thing about this is not the transfer fee, it's that you can't have any hero's in football anymore. As you as you do, they **** you over. Whats the point?
  2. £4 million is not a great deal for us. I wonder what the add-on's are? £100,000-a-goal or appearance and it could add up. I suppose. (Still worth a lot more though).
  3. I don't know why people are mentioning Eddie Howe. He's great at a small club like Bournemouth, but as soon as he went somewhere bigger he made a bit of a pigs ear of it. In no way is he qualified to manage a Premier League side.
  4. Looking at the papers today, I wonder.... Van Gaal -> Man Utd MoPo -> Tottenham Moyles -> Saints.
  5. The form table really does make uncomfortable reading for the few... http://stats.football365.co.uk/dom/ENG/D3/oform.html For the first time, I think they may actually be non-league Portsmouth next season.
  6. I sometimes find a visual aid helps when thinking about stats: 1> Chelsea 2> Liverpool 3> Manchester City 4> Arsenal 5> Everton 6> Tottenham Hotspur 7> Manchester United 8> Newcastle United 9> Southampton 10> Aston Villa 11> Stoke City 12> Hull City 13> Norwich City 14> West Ham United 15> Swansea City 16> West Bromwich Albion 17> Crystal Palace 18> Sunderland 19> Cardiff City 20> Fulham 1> Leicester City 2> Burnley 3> Derby County 4> Queens Park Rangers 5> Wigan Athletic 6> Reading 7> Nottingham Forest 8> Brighton and Hove Albion 9> Ipswich Town 10> Blackburn Rovers 11> AFC Bournemouth 12> Watford 13> Leeds United 14> Middlesbrough 15> Sheffield Wednesday 16> Huddersfield Town 17> Bolton Wanderers 18> Blackpool 19> Doncaster Rovers 20> Birmingham City 21> Charlton Athletic 22> Millwall 23> Yeovil Town 24> Barnsley 1> Wolverhampton Wanderers 2> Brentford 3> Leyton Orient 4> Rotherham United 5> Preston North End 6> Peterborough United 7> Milton Keynes Dons 8> Swindon Town 9> Walsall 10> Port Vale 11> Sheffield United 12> Crawley Town 13> Bradford City 14> Gillingham 15> Bristol City 16> Colchester United 17> Coventry City 18> Oldham Athletic 19> Crewe Alexandra 20> Tranmere Rovers 21> Carlisle United 22> Shrewsbury Town 23> Stevenage 24> Notts County 1> Rochdale 2> S****horpe United 3> Chesterfield 4> Fleetwood 5> Burton Albion 6> Oxford United 7> York City 8> Plymouth Argyle 9> Southend United 10> Dagenham Redbridge 11> Hartlepool United 12> Newport County 13> Cheltenham Town 14> Morecambe 15> AFC Wimbledon 16> Accrington Stanley 17> Exeter City 18> Mansfield Town 19> Bury 20> Bristol Rovers 21> Wycombe Wanderers 22> Portsmouth 23> Northampton Town 24> Torquay United Feel free to copy and paste to enlighten work colleagues who may need reminding :-)
  7. Milford. Then Heath.
  8. Interesting – I think that’s the first time we've heard the other side of the story. Sounds like Coretse resigned on a point of principal; we way promised sole control of the club by Marcus and saw KL’s request for a director ship as interference. However, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for someone who has pumped in £30-odd million to want some form of accountability from the person running the business. Also interesting the the piece is neutral on the question of selling the club.
  9. Don't fear the reaper - Blue Oyster Cult.
  10. Interesting. Ultimately, the recent investment in infrastructure and players has come from KL, not Cortese. It'll be intersting to see if that investment dries up.
  11. MP is the manager of Southampton FC, not Cortese FC. If he dosn't want to manage Southampton, **** him.
  12. Except that, this being Pompey, the financial rules that every other club has to abide by don't apply. (Well, they haven't yet anyway)
  13. Isn't that Nottingham Forest's song?
  14. Classic Merrington: "I just want to say this Adam; I don't know what's going on!" Great point.
  15. If there's a technically better English player in the PL than AL, please point him out, 'cos I an't seen him....
  16. Bloody hell, they've been turned around so many times, no wonder they're all dizzy. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

  18. Derek Statham?
  19. 100% this.
  20. I'd throw caution to the winds and play 4-1-4-1 with the front 5 being very fluid and swapping positions throughout the game. Something like: ---------------- Boruc ----------------- Shaw --- Lovren ----- Fonte ---- Clyne --------------- Wanyama -------------- Lallana --- Lambert --- Schneiderlin --- Rodriguez --------------- Osvaldo ----------------- (Good old fashined "you score 3, we'll score 4 type football).
  21. Priceless! Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  22. I had to "trade in" Sky Sports for my ST. So, I saved £400 per year be ditching SP, but I really miss it (esp with the Ashes this year). Very difficult to justify both Sky Sports and a ST. I don't think ST prices will need to get too much higher to reverse the decision. If they do, like many on here, I'll end up picking & choosing games.
  23. Just keep your head down. They get over it in 20 or 30 years. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  24. It's not bad....it's just not Saints.
