  1. Instead of being 6 points clear of relegation, I think of it more as a 3 point head-start on Leicester and Ipswich
  2. Last season's Northern games: Huddersfield Away : Lost 2-0 Carlisle Away : Lost 3-2 Tranmere Away : Lost 2-0 Hartlepool Away : Drew 0-0 Walsall Away : Lost 1-0 Rochdale Away : Lost 2-0
  3. Because Connolly is better and in better form?
  4. Davis Richardson - Martin - Fonte - Fox Guly - Chaplow - Cork - Hammond - Lallana Connolly With De Ridder & Forte coming on with 20 minutes to go against tired defenders

    Pele

He played with my other team, Falkirk, and looked a pretty decent bottom of SPL defender, not a million pound Premiership defender!
  6. Glad he's gone: He's a skate Never wanted to be here Not worth £12 million We have De Ridder
  7. Bart - made a couple of decent saves but he dropped the ball twice. Butterfield - diabolical. Their goal came from his mistake Seaborne - get rid off him soon. He's not Championship class Martin - shaky but picked up Seaborne's mistakes. Great prospect. Dickson - did nothing bad, did nothing good. De Ridder - Fantastic goal and crosses. Looks a shrewd signing Schneiderlin - Brilliant passing. CM is really our strongest position atm Chaplow - Had a good game and really improved when Hammond came on Holmes - Decent. Good understudy for Adam Lambert - Needed minutes and got them. Good free kick, decent game Guly - so frustrating Hammond - ran the show Lallana - non-existent Forte - so glad he got his goal and is off the mark.
  8. James McFadden would be a fantastic signing! Always terrific for Scotland
  9. Darren Fletcher, Steven Fletcher, Phil Bardsley, James Morrisson, Craig Gordon, Alan Hutton, Kris Commons, Graham Dorrans, Shaun Maloney, Chris Iwelumo....?
  10. Just put two handicap bets on us (+16) and Derby (+24) and an outright bet to win the title on Leicester.
  11. Do you expect the official site to put pictures up of the games?
  12. In Preston's friendly with Falkirk on Saturday, Mills and Mellor were starting but Treacy nowhere to be seen. Could be tying up a deal here
  13. Well, I watch probably about 5/6 games of football on the TV every week and always choose a side to cheer on. But when I was watching the Saints v Millwall game on the first day of the 2009/10 season, it was weird, almost like I cared about Saints winning that game as much as I would my local team Falkirk. That season, I looked out for all the results and Southampton became my "English team." Last season, my interest in the team grew, and I attended my first ever Saints game in November, and I started loving the club more than I do the team I have followed for 7 years. And in August, I'm visiting St. Mary's for the first time for the opening game against Leeds and hopefully I'll make about 7-10 games this term
  14. Top 10, with a real good chance of the Play-Offs, depending on who we sign.
  15. I think Middlesborough will surprise everyone and come good this season as they've had a good end to the season and don't have as much expectation as they did this time last season. Birmingham and West Ham have decent chances of going straight back up and I'm confident that the Saints will reach the play-offs but I think teams like Forest and Cardiff will have midtable finishes after 2 years of heartbreak in the play-offs. Tip for the title: Hmm...I'll go with Pompey
  16. Glad Blackpool are down as I hate that wannabe comedian Hollaway. Was hoping for Wigan to go down for my selfish geographical reasons but as I have a soft spot for Wolves and Blackburn, I'm glad they are safe. Not a fan of Birmingham as their stuffy style bores me but as they are a "yo-yo" club, I can see them going straight up.
  17. How do you insert an image on this? I've clicked on "Insert Image" and entered my URL and nothing is coming up?
  18. The big question is... Sash or Stripes?
  19. Garry Kenneth? Are you kidding me? I've watched this guy for years and he is one of the worst and overrated players in Scotland. However, it's not as bad as the ridiculous Grant Munro shout who is wanted by my 1st divison Falkirk!
  20. We BETTER be touring Scotland this year.
  21. Firstly, I apologise to that woman and her baby at the park for frightening the life out of them by screaming, roaring and jumping about in their faces. Just thankful they never called the police!! And secondly, Jose Fonte was player of the season and a cult hero. Today, he turned into a Saints legend.
  22. Well would you want him to sign permanently if he was nothing special? He's not bad but we could use that money to buy a better player.
  23. Just back from the game. Wow, that was grim. I don't manage to get to many games so are we always this bad? Every game I have been to we have lost!! The ball was in the air more than it was on the park and we were diabolical until Adam came on and we started to play a bit. Kelvin - 6 - OK. Should have done better with the 2nd but made a great save with his legs to keep the score at 0-0 in the first half. Frazer - 4 - Terrible. He is a more attacking RB than Butterfield yet I thought last night he offered nothing going forward, especially first half. Defending was fairly decent. Jaidi - 8 - Won every header again and dealt with their fast attackers running at pace very well. Had one blip when he and Fonte allowed O'Grady? (I think it was) through on goal. Fonte - 7 - Much the same as Jaidi but didn't stand out as much. Harding - 5 - Meh. He couldn't even get past his man and I'd rather Dickson in this position. Guly - 3 - Oh dear god. The guy scores a fair amount of goals but he is very inconsistent and doesn't give much to the team. I heard myself growling and getting impatient at him on many an occasion. Very frustrating player. Hammond - 7 - Passing was good, kept good control of the ball. One of my favourite Saints players. Will be important for us next year whatever league we find ourselves in. Stephens - 4 - Not impressed, I'm afraid. He either lost possession or passed the ball backwards. Go back to Oldham, please. Dickson - 6 - He looked eager but his skill didn't prevail. When he moved to LB, I was a bit more impressed with his performance. Lambert - 6 - Nice free-kick which almost found its way into the bottom corner and won nearly every header. However, his lay-offs never found its target. Barney - 6 - Fantastic work effort but there wasn't much of a partnership between the front two with Lee running nowhere near where Lambert was laying the ball off. Forte - 7 - Impressed. What a pace this guy has! I thought he could have went on a bit further before shooting when through on goal but it was his pace and power alone that got him that opportunity. He even defended well at times too. Seaborne - 3 - Very shaky last 15 minutes. I think he came on because Radhi was tired? Not sure. Could have gave away a goal with his dilly-dallying on the ball. Lallana - 7 - Would have gave him higher had he been on for longer. Totally changed the game. What would we do without him?
