Wonder if we have a sell on clause for Nathan Dyer - Liverpool eyeing him up apparently

  4. I just received an invite to attend an interview for the Technology Team at the Olympics next year. Anyone else volunteered or been accepted?
  5. Oz will probably still win thanks to their first innings!
  6. I had locks broken off a suitcase flying domestically in the US along with a card from the TSA explaining why. If you want to lock a case flying withing or from the US then you need to get a TSA approved lock - they have a master key
  7. have a look on the Novatech website: http://www.novatech.co.uk/ £400 gets you a fair way up their range but they dont include monitors. Ebuyer currently have a decent LG monitor at £60: http://www.ebuyer.com/194601-lg-w1946s-bf-18-5-monitor-w1946s-bf-aek
  8. http://www.ebuyer.com/225791-tenda-5-port-gigabit-switch-g1005d is a good deal faster as its Gigabit - if your devices can handle it. If its just for external internet access then probably overkill but its more futureproof than the 10/100 router.
  9. anyone find any stream?
  10. Depends on your phone and your deal with the network. I can wirelessly tether my tablet with my android phone with no issues. Works really well. Not all networks allow tethering with all contracts though. Three do.
  11. it will handle pure text, but put any tables etc in it and it screws it all up - as does Libre Office. Its MS fault as docx is not built to standards - apart from MS own! You need to save the docx files as doc files and then they should be ok - but then editing them is difficult as Office converts a lot of objects to images - equations/formulas for example. At least you can get the Office 2010 for less than £40 if you have someone in the family still in education. Anyone with kids is entitled under the MS scheme. Get it here: http://www.software4students.co.uk/
  12. just dont try and use .docx files from Office 2010 in it - completely throws formatting out as my wife has found trying to work on work documents at home. I ended up buying MS Office 2010 for her and my daughter for compatibility. Oh and instead of OpenOffice which is currently being crippled by Oracle so they can make money off it, use LibreOffice instead - its the open source branch of OpenOffice which despite its name is no longer open source.
  13. Try and watch in HD if you can - stunning photography:
  14. 7x faster graphics? Only in games if they are optimised for the new phone. They use the 7x as the headline but actually in day to day non gaming use of the phone the max increase is 2x. 14.4Mbps downloads will never happen - thats the max it can handle but you might get that speed once in a blue moon if ever.
  15. much more interesting will be the Google Nexus Prime announcement next week
  16. put your walking boots on and go to Hay Tor.
  17. Expensive though Baj at $35 a month!
  18. Should have said in the above post - Percolator - the drip style - they are all the same. There is a huge difference when you start talking espresso machines!
  19. If you are buying a coffee machine it doesn't really make much difference which you buy - they all work in the same way. The important factor is the coffee itself. Alternatively get a caffetiere (French Press) and make small volumes at a time. If you make a full jug and leave it on the element all day it will gradually taste worse and worse
  20. Very cleverly done: http://mrdoob.com/projects/chromeexperiments/google_gravity/
  21. Amazon control the price so unlikely to get anything discounted more than a pound or 2. USA is the best place if you happen to be going - other than that go for a refurb
  22. I use http://www.unlimitedwebhosting.co.uk for 3 or 4 sites and never had any issues. its just over £3 a month for their web hosting package. I am sure they are not really unlimited but it all works pretty well. I usually use 1&1 for domain names.
  23. Get well soon Dan. BBC reporting the same as others - its now the most read story on the BBC news site. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-14762220
  24. I got my wife an Asus Transformer when her laptop finally died and she loves it. I can't see a need for one if you already have a laptop though. The transformer has a 16 hour battery life when docked which makes it very useful when travelling.
  25. Fort Arabesque in Makadi Bay - best stretch of beach at any hotel I have been to in Egypt. Best snorkelling beach in the resort too. Food is decent as its an Italian owned place. We were stranded there last year during the Volcano problems so got 3 weeks for the price of 2. We are a family of 5 and all the kids had a great time too. http://www.fortarabesque.com/
