nice to see the bitterness towards SFC in the comments - Guess he is a WHUM then

I mainly use mine at home for web browsing, word processing, games, hooked up to my stereo to use Google Music. It really comes into its own when I travel though. I do a lot of intercontinental flights over 10 hours and my laptop, which is extremely powerful also has the downside that the battery doesn't last longer than 2-3 hours. As my Transformer battery can do up to 16 hours when docked I can get a lot more work done, movies watched, music consumed etc. I have just got a Blackberry Playbook through the App Developers offer RIM had on for Android developers so I will be testing that out on y next trip. Its a bit more portable than the 10.1 inch Transformer. My wife uses the transformer for most of the things she used to use a laptop for. It is instantly on, unlike booting a PC. She only uses her laptop for long school lesson planning sessions.

yes - used the developer and consumer previews - hate it! It will be very good for touch screens, but it doesn't lend itself well to being used with a mouse. Lots of people who get their new PCs next year will be frustrated trying to find anything familiar about it to begin with. Its all still there but hidden.

just received notification that they are shipping my Free developer playbook. Not bad for 5 mins work creating an Android app on Andromo.com, and 5 mins converting to Playbook.

thanks for the reply. I am moving to Ferndown. Not seen anything stating Virgin are coming to that part of Dorset. I know they are already in Bournemouth and Poole

38 live in Dunstable, grew up in Fareham but chose the Red side rather than the Blue. Moving back south to live in Ferndown in a couple of weeks. First game in 1981 vs Luton at the Dell, first away vs Everton FA cup Final at Highbury. My son is now an avid fan and his favourite player is Richard Chaplow as he got a Happy Birthday tweet from him on his 7th birthday

nice to see the few are sticking to blaming the FA/FL/anyone other than their club in the comments too

I am moving back down south later this month and need to find a new ISP. I am currently with Virgin, but they don't cover Ferndown. I don't need TV, just landline and internet but need unlimited downloads with a decent FUP. Any suggestions?

which one? The 8.9 is on sale at currys right now at £279 and its a brilliant tablet - just the right size.

Used to bring his kids in for ice cream when I worked at Ye Olde Tea Shoppe in Wickham in my youth. Always a nice bloke. RIP

it will change again when the new manager comes in anyway - would have gone with Hart. He is pretty much the only player with a decent temperament who will start every game. Casillas has done pretty well for a GK captain

There are several threads in the Technology forum with the same question - lots of good recommendations there

Yawn - why bother commenting on this with your Apple blinkered view when the OP has asked about the Playbook. 'Buy an iPad' isn't helpful when he is looking at spending £170. The Playbook should settle in price now that v2.0 of the OS is out. RIM have been promoting the device with Android developers by handing out free devices in return for porting their apps over to the Playbook. They have had a decent response so expect the market to expand quite quickly. I am just waiting for mine! Flash certainly isn't dead - its a heck more alive than you may think. The move to html5 is extremely slow so. I would be more concerned about buying an ipad and being stuck with just html5 right now. There are certainly better tablets out there - if you can get an HTC Flyer at a similar price point, go that route. Alternatively wait a few months and the Asus Memo should be out, plus we should see the Kindle Fire, and a Google 7" tab for around the £160-200 mark.

hadn't seen that - my issue with chrome currently is that there is no Desktop mode - but it is coming in an update apparently. Who needs to use the mobile sites on a 10.1" screen? Also full screen mode is being added too.
-
yep - got mine today too, got to write a review of it for MoDaCo.com. Chrome came top of our Android browser poll a couple of weeks ago - it had only been out for 5 or 6 days. Shows how bad the other browsers were!

theverge.com used to be my most hated commercial website design but the BBC Sport site is running it pretty close now

The 5th Round Draw - Bolton at home (if we beat Millwall!)

Ok - I guess its not the phone then but the Android operating system you can't get on with. When the Desire first came out it was consistently at the top of reviewers handset lists. The biggest downside is the lack of onboard storage which means fiddling around to get the apps installed on the SD card

whats wrong with your HTC Desire? Mine is almost 2 years old, had a swim in a swimming pool and still works perfectly. Installing CyanogenMOD or MIUI has given it updates to the latest Android Gingerbread version

He might want to change the part about being in the top division and finishing as high as eighth. If he is counting the 27 years then he should also say out highest finish was 2nd. Journo's always forget there was life before the Premier League. Rest of the article made for a good read.

yep - I need to run multiple hard core IBM software products at the same time - my latest product will need a combined 24GB for a training set up
