If you want somewhere a little quieter but still in manhattan then the Hilton Millenium is a good bet - got a pool too. It can be a bit humbling getting up in the morning and looking into the bowels of the Twin Towers site but very comfortable and easy to get around.
-
no - looking for a bid
-
How dare you sir
-
same as before - Bid situation means that we are soliciting for offers - NOT that we have received one. Same as the LSE announcement states

Couldn't decide between here, the lounge or the Arts forums for this one. Does anyone use online photo printing services? My new Digital SLR arrives tomorrow and I have decided it will be much cheaper to have one of these services do the printing rather than using my photo printer at home. I have used Photobox in the past with no issues but was wondering if anyone has experience of other companies - ie snapfish etc.

I was in the Lanesborough hotel on Saturday night for dinner with the missus and there was a crowd outside the front entrance and the rear entrance - all were mid teens to early 20s. They obviously have no clue as to his past

I am just about to order the A200 from Amazon - £245 right now. I have a Minolta Film SLR that my Grandfather gave me when he retired from press photography and the Sony range will allow me to continue using the lenses.
-
not that much so may just live with it. Just about to buy a Sony A200 as I have several old Minolta lenses that will work with it. Will see if it is noticeable on the pics when i try it. Cheers Al

I have a 70-210mm Minolta AF lens that seems to have some kind of fungus inside the lens. Does anyone know if its possible to get the internals cleaned or if its possible to do myself?

A memory stick probably isn't the best choice of medium for backing up data - an external hard drive would make a better choice as they are not as volatile. Memory Sticks have limited read/write cycles so they can soon become unusable if you are writing a lot of data to it and/or copying it back off. IF you want a secure USB stick then best bet is to either buy one that has encryption built in - more costly but more secure, or use something like FreeOTFE which performs on the fly encryption. http://www.freeotfe.org/ You can also use TrueCrypt to perform the same task. I would use one of these even if you backup to HDD, DVD etc

You won't regret getting the touch. Most of the apps on the app store work with it. Its thinner and lighter than the Iphone. Just make sure you get a case for it as its pretty easy to scratch. I am about to order a set of headphones with a mic so I can make voip calls on it too.

you are plugging into USB 2.0 port aren't you? Also if you are plugging into a USB2.0 port on the front panel of a PC you can get power issues. Try plugging into the rear port

Hi Al, You have got the wrong link for the Canon 40D - links to the one above.
-
copypod will do it. You can also change a setting in iTunes to set the ipod as an external drive and then browse and copy all the files over
