That new contract is essential. He has shown loyalty too and always got on with his football without a fuss. The improvement - particularly in his tackling - has been outstanding. Definitely a big game player too.

Jesus Perez Perez can speak some English apparantly!

Le Tissier is British.

More insightful nonsense from Merson again. He's only on Sky Sports as some people find his stupidity funny.

SSN still obsessed with the druggy

There's more chance of Cortese getting a hero's welcome on Monday night than our fans not singing 'One Nigel Adkins'.

Let's take over this dump

Jesus, let's hope we don't sell out then! Well up for this one - won't get much of an atmosphere going with the home fans but hopefully quite a few k of us will make a good amount of noise.

How much does it cost to follow each Premier League team away?
SaintAndy14 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Spending that sort of money on anything else would be madness. But I will carry on spending it on Saints for the rest of my life as it is always money well spent. -
How much control should the chairman have over signings?
SaintAndy14 replied to old_southy's topic in The Saints
Potentially it is OK for the chairman to have an influence in who should be bought/sold but the final decision should always rest with the manager. I guess it is the modern way to have a 'first team coach' like Chelsea do but that shows that most of the big decisions are being made above the manager's head. It may be the old-fashioned way now, but I know I would certainly want full control if I were a manager and not have owners/chairman telling me who I was to sign. Too much control - leave the football side of things to the manager who you appoint as you appoint him in the knowledge that he knows about football. -
So tough to pick one name out - decent cases for all of the above. I'd go with Fonte (just). If Cork/Shaw had played from the start then would probably say one of those two. Morgan has impressed massively too, as has Punch.
-
Apart from Luke Shaw again very disappointing.

If we stay up - mid-table Premier League. If we go down - mid-table Championship.
-
Agree that we need to freshen it up - players are tired and we are second best all over the pitch. Continue to ride our luck and hope to nick a goal on the counter perhaps?

This puts a smile on my face every time!

Very true! Excellent player and we missed him big time!

What a tough MOTM vote - love this!! Went for Puncheon but could easily have given it to Cork, Lallana or Shaw who looked excellent. Superb team performance!

I really don't think that is the way forward. It is up to the individual manager to select the team he wants to play - if he wants to rest his first 11 and play the reserves/kids then that is up to him. Well done to the manager who takes the competition seriously and wins a place in Europe - if others aren't fussed then so be it. I want us to win every game and have a cup run but I also understand why managers rest many of their key players when they have so many games to play. I feel sorry for the fans who travel all that way to see a reserve/youth team but surely they must know that that is going to be the case before they buy their ticket.

No idea but just purchased 2!

Seems as though we have got a bit too used to the good times over the past couple of seasons. This season was always going to be tough and when things aren't going well people panic/need someone to blame. We have to remember where we were 3 years ago - I think everyone would have taken our current situation back then.
-
Any ITK ers know how ticket sales are going for this one? Chance of selling out?
-
Thanks for everything Dan. He always gave his all and played a big part in our back-to-back promotions. Will miss him shouting at the ball-boys to give him the ball quicker to take a throw-in - brilliant! A passionate player and will do well at Forest. Cannot understand those few who rubbish him above.
-
I wouldn't even take a straight swap deal - Shaw looks as though he could be awesome in a few years whereas Theo will always just be 'good' or 'decent'.
