  1. Definitely Cork and Clyne in for me. Bring Vic back in one of the numerous away games we have following the stoke game.
  2. Cole can't get in the Chelsea side. If it wasn't for his reputation and no of england caps he would have no chance of going to Brazil. Sadly unless he gets injured don't think Shaw will get to go.
  3. I'm very dubious of the value of pass completion statistics. Do they treat a simple 2 yard tap back the same as a through ball. Wanyama today did a number of short passes back to Fonte but had several wayward moments when trying more complex passes.
  4. Been saying Fulham look relegation fodder for a while now. After seeing them in person i saw nothing to change my mind. Scattergun desperation approach to signings doesn't impress me either. Maybe Norwich as they didn't impress me despite them somehow beating us. And maybe Cardiff.
  5. It was good to see cork coming on and helping change the game. It should have happened at times earlier in the season too imo & i hope Cork has overcome any reservations Potch might have had about him.
  6. Was at game today. Personally thought the entire team was below par today 1st half and he wasn't particularly worse than others. Some people just like a scapegoat. Cork coming on coupled with no doubt Potchettino's HT team talk helped us play a slicker faster passing football. I love the fact we have 3 excellent centre mids that have different attributes about them. I prefer the style Cork adds to the team personally but we definitely do need the physical attributes of Wanyama on other occasions.
  7. I think the ball winning cm is one of england's big weaknesses currently. Cork looks made to fill it but sadly i assume he'll be ignored.
  8. Lallana has to be a starter imo. He's right at top of his game at the mo. Also think Cork should be in the England team as he just the sort of player england have been lacking alongside Gerrard. And Jrod is playing better than Wellbeck so should be in with a shout of the Left attacking berth.
  9. Having the sit quietly in the Fulham while in front of me Saints demolished Fulham in the 2nd half was hard work, especially as Saints fans were in fine voice. First half was very drab with very much a feeling of after the lord mayor's show to it in comparison with Arsenal performance. Fulham just about shaded it calling Boruc into a couple of smart saves. They were saves i'd always hope a keeper of Boruc's ability would save though. I can understand the decision to bring Wanyama back in as i do think he acts as a defensive shield. Today Fulham were sitting so the decision to bring on Cork who i personally think aids the slick attacking passing football we played in 2nd half. Lovely to see Saints english attackers taking it in turns to get on the scoresheet and the 'off to Brazil chants that followed'. Once Lallana scored he just got better and better. Jrod's goal was nice but if i was a Fulham fan i'd be annoyed at Hangeland giving him a free ride to do so. Good to see Rickie score, which should shut the 'his legs have gone' crowd for a day or two. Personally thought his link up play in 2nd half was excellent but it always has been. The way we play means he gets less scoring opportunities than he did in the lower leagues but he's still class. I just hope the inability to bring in cover for him doesn't backfire on us.
  10. Still hoping that we've got a loan target on ice waiting for his team team to tie up their preferred signing. Wouldn't even mind the likes of Vydra from WBA as cover if Mel gets the attacker he's after. I think the idea of no real competition for Rickie beyond a academy 18 yr old who had 1 league start would show a real lack of common sense.
  11. I have no issue with the strategy of focusing on purchasing small numbers of top quality players each summer. However when circumstances force you to let one of those players leave a loan player to cover the gaping hole that leaves should be the minimum expected imo.
  12. I'll be very disappointed if we don't even bring in a loan striker to bolster our attacking options now it appears Osvaldo is gone. Depleting our squad is hardly a sign of having any ambition for the rest of the season.
  13. Harding isn't going to be happy with Fox once again arriving at the club he's at!
  14. Shows how far we've come that i'm frustrated we didn't beat them. Hopefully we'll learn to kill teams off when we have the chance in the future. Great performance by the team. Put Fulham to the sword on Saturday by playing with same intensity please.
  15. I'd opt to use Wanyama and Davis off the bench and save them for 90 minutes away to Fulham. Boruc Clyne Yoshida Fonte Shaw Cork Morgan JWP Lallana Rodriguez Lambert Subs Davis, Chambers, Davis, Guly, Wanyama, Gallagher, Hooiveld
  16. Never been a Lowe hater. A lot of the foundations were building on come from his work. If anything his major flaw was his lack of Corteselike ruthlessness.
  17. My impressions after going to the game. Yeovill were well organised if limited. Saints looked slightly disjointed due to the changes, especially the absence of rickie up top. As to ratings Davis: 7 Made saves that needed to be made. He is what he is a solid if unspectacular back up keeper at this prem level. Clyne: 7.5 Was an attacking outlet, especially in 2nd half Shaw: 6 Seemed constrained. Not sure if he was fully fit as there were times towards the end he didn't particularly seem like he wanted the ball. Hooiveld: 6 He won headers and cleared balls. An opossition that was perfect for Jos's attributes and hopefully it'll give him some confidence if we do need him again this season. Yoshida: 6.5 The more composed of the 2 centre backs. Scneiderlin:7.5 Good as always Cork: 8 Mom for me. He's got such great control. Really hoping he is impressing Potch as he's one player i'd be dreadfully sad to see leave. Lallana: 8, When he got the ball he had the opposition scared because they couldn't cope with his skill. Guly: 6.5 Solid shift from Guly back from injury. Nice to see him get a goal too. Jrod: 5: Not his day. He's so much more effective out wide. Subs: Gallagher:7 Very impressive outing from the youngster. Nice to see him get his goal too, especially considering the Osvaldo situation. Davis:6.5 Looked good when he came on Reed: 6.5 Couple of nice balls into the box by him.
  18. His contrition is key. If he's not then sure find the best way to recoup as much of investment as possible. His absence the due to injury/suspension has weakened us as we haven't had anyone other than Rickie up top. Don't agree that the large sum spent on him should or can be freely ignored/quickly recouped. Training ground bust ups happen and I don't see why the squad should throw their toys out of the pram if management decide to try and rehabilitate a contrite osvaldo.
  19. Personally we knew what we were buying, so if he's contrite I'd much prefer to try to reintegrate him into the squad rather than take a huge loss selling/loaning him out and weakening our squad.
  20. Play strongest team possible Boruc(or Davis if Boruc isn't fully fit) Clyne Fonte Yoshida Shaw Cork Morgan Jrod JWP Lallana Lambert Subs Davis/Gazza, Chambers, Davis, Osvaldo, Reed, Fox, Gallagher
  21. Disappointing day at the office for Boruc. He is a good keeper though and its from the expectation that he'd normally save both those shots that the disappointment stems from. Hopefully it was just a blip and that he'll be back to his usual excellence from here on in.
  22. Not sure what you are on about. Thought lambert's link up play was excellent today.
  23. Saints played great. Boruc disappointing for both goals. Potchettino bewildering for not making a tactical move before they equalised. Ref disgraceful for not giving a free kick for the foul on gaston. All in all 2 points thrown away.
  24. The impression that he's just staying till the end of the season feels more like a lingering death rather than something to be celebrated.
  25. Maybe that's why the rumours had him convincing potchettino to stay. Desperate straw grabbing is better than fearing the predicted sales.
