Hoping Mopo stays but if he does go would hardly be a bad appointment despite his brief pompey links. Certainly pro youth & has been behind alliance with Swindon to get their players a chance at a club playing the right way. So a good fit.

Indeed i don't want this to become a game of dominoes, where we watch as the first XI gets gutted one at a time. The money will be meaningless beyond being nice for Liebherr's bank account as we won't be able to spend it on like for like replacements.

Very proud, very excited, but also very nervous with all this speculation that someone's going to beat us up and take our lunch money before I can sit down and enjoy the main event.
-
Journos and their random scatter gun speculation. Given Mackay wouldn't match our style & has no notable youth emphasis sounds like nonsense. Now I could see him at WBA, Clarke mk2.
-
Yep fantastic defensively and once he starts adding goals/more assists to his pace he's going to be scary.
-
Completely depends on ambition. No point shopping upmarket if we're planning just not to get relegated.
-
Very much sums up my opinion.

Do love their arrogance. Not for sale means opposite to them. Hope our not for sale is what it says on the tin.
-
Over the ten years they've lost a key player every couple of years. Losing multiple people this summer would be completely different.

England World Cup Squad - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw included

Yeah think you'd need Lampard, Rooney, baines & Gerard to be absent for Rickie to get first dibs at penalty in normal time. In a penalty shoot out it could definitely happen though. -

Agree don't get Wilshere or Lampard thing. So much pressure now on Gerard and Henderson not to get injured or booked twice. Delph or cork etc would have been in my squad. Really delighted for Rickie. Just keeping my fingers crossed there's no injuries to scupper what was largely a positive squad. -
Ha ha, got to wonder at the laziness of some journos.
-
I'd argue that it is important to retain them for a few years so we actually get to see the benefit of all the work we've put into developing them and blooding them. I already see a few moaning about giving the likes of Gallagher game time.
-
Not sure Everton reinvested every last penny of the Fellaini money, Sure some of that went to clear debts. Doubt we could even attract a 35 million pound player but key has to be at most lose just one, reinvest a decent portion and ensure the floodgates don't open with multiple players demanding out the door.

I'd take the above in a heartbeat even if i'd be sad to see adam go. Losing Luke so young would send out a very bad signal for all future good academy prospects.
-
If all the speculation is true and the club are preparing to flog half the first xi then obviously we've peaked. You can't attract players of a similar quality if all they see are top players leaving in droves. Still fervently hoping that we'll keep the manager and lose no more than 1. The notion of Krueger being a smiling asset stripper is too desperate to contemplate.
-
That's nonsense. When United signed Hernandez they were all talking about how united had bought and what a good deal it was considering how well he was playing him not whatever mexican club he came from. Unless we like the sensation of being repeatedly shafted we should tell them to **** off.
-
Circa 40M would be the value i'd consider acceptable. The rumoured 20m is an utter joke.
-
Immediate test of whether Krueger and Co are a bunch of idiots.

Everton have shown you don't have to have an endless stream of money to compete with the big boys I'd like us to have a plan to emulate them. Just throwing our hands up and selling all our good players on the cheap, whilst settling down for a relegation scrap or utter mediocrity is unfathomable imo.
-
A) All it takes is one injury and suddenly Shaw could be lighting up the world cup stage and his value rockets higher. B) Sure fire way to anger the fans by not letting them enjoy seeing a Saints player going to the world Cup because everyone will talk about him as a man U one. C) Don't think we should be selling him anyway, especially to a club that aint even in the champions league.

Shows what a good decision it is likely to be to leave him behind. If he won't go on standby how would he be at playing second fiddle to baines on tour. -

Still worried it's going to be le tiss all over again as I rage over how lambert has been left out. -
Well I'd love wellbeck at saints but don't see it happening, especially if we are selling one of our best players to them.
-
Maybe the World Cup can give a slight relief from the constant attempts to flog our players off by the media. Really don't want to sell shaw. Think another season of development with us would do him no harm and hopefully let us see if targett can start to come through.
