  1. Likely we'll play 3 at the back quite a bit, so he'll be third CB ahead of Wood and Edwards, at least in the short term
  2. Sure it'll be Whipping up excitement
  3. Let’s be honest it’s likely more because there isn’t a particular upside to guaranteeing her that oxygen burst of publicity at this point.
  4. Agree completely. curious about what the actual strategy is as it has certainly not seemed about developing players to play for Southampton.
  5. Not sure there is a better candidate at this point, not least because Harris is only one that can use donated funds. Get the feeling the hope is that even if she loses in she won't have the same drag factor as Biden was having on the down ticket (house/Senate elections) and gives them hope of avoiding the nightmare scenario where Trump has presidency/house/senate and supreme court.
  6. I don’t see a great candidate in the wings to swing the momentum enough in swing states even if democrats agree one immediately.
  7. Biden out. Well I’m not sure at this stage it’ll change much.
  8. He helped keep Bompey up as we plummeted to relegation. Also helped keep us up for numerous seasons previously. Some people have a weird view as to what is good enough for the prem
  9. Spain by a mile the best team england only ever seemed interested in playing when behind. interested to see where they go from here. Personally think they need a less conservative manager.
  10. My guess the approach of throwing money and wages at man city untried kids is part of the reason why talented academy kids are asking for similar.
  11. German fans are idiots (holding a grudge over a penalty appeal that was a pile of nonsense) love watching Spain, if there’s any justice they’ll win the tournament.
  12. Personally i've always preferred the Single Transferrable vote.
  13. If he joins I'm going to assume he's going to be another Diallo until he proves otherwise.
  14. Still annoyed we lost cork all those years ago. that said I can’t see him coming back, especially as from the sounds of it he was really frustrated at his lack of game time at Burnley last season so he’ll probably be aiming to go somewhere he’ll be a starter. as for ox, no thanks. Reed though would be a good signing. Has he dropped out of favour at Fulham?
  15. It's almost as if you have no idea that other countries have functioning governments that still enact laws under PR.
  16. I'd vastly prefer PR to these sort of results. Not least because your far less likely to have these landslides. Anemic oppositions and massive majorities don't tend to lead to good government in my eyes.
  17. You can’t really be using smallbone as an example, somebody we gave a chance because we got relegated and had impressed at that level for stoke. There’s little evidence of if they stuck around they’d have opportunities. (Actually Harrison reed shows path smallbone likely would have gone without relegation) ward prowse is the previous success story 10 plus years ago. Recent evidence is that you are more likely to get a chance to play for Southampton by signing for a Man City/chelsea. (Edozie goes from millwall to city, doesn’t playa minute, bought for 10million etc).
  18. Let’s be honest they getting any real opportunity at saints so we can hardly complain if they prefer to not get one at a bigger club for more money.
  19. Hadn't realised he was 30. Still a shrewd pick up for a couple of years.
  20. Curious too as what i saw in the playoff final looked decidedly average. Was that just a complete aberration?
  21. Guess it’s better to be a lucky manager than a good one. Why wait till injury time to add toney?
  22. I think privately Taiwan would be told it was a complete non starter. So yeah I think they would be told no if they ignored the back channel response and tried to publicly push the issue.
  23. I don’t think that at all. Putin is ultimately at fault for decision to go to war. More a case of poking a high unpleasant bear with nukes. For instance if the west proposed Taiwan to join nato that might lead to unfortunate consequences in regards china’s response. Hence why there’s a delicate diplomacy about how much support to give Taiwan without triggering a superpower.
  24. Can we just get him for £4m, at least having claim to fame of getting father and son for the same price.
  25. I have quite liked mccarthy in past, even when he was getting criticised on here. That said this feels like a backwards step to me. He feels at this point in his career to be a solid championship goalie but fear he’ll be exposed again at prem level. Feels like an admission of a lack of ambition too.
