In all fairness the first two were enforced, Lallana & TP were having decent games until the injuries. TP for a defensive midfielder was an odd one though.

And out of those combined 99 games, how many times have you seen them break into a sweat? Technically they may improve. But if they are this complacent/lazy at the start of their careers when they should be champing at the bit to get out there and show what they can do, there's little chance of an attitude change.

Blimey. Very surprised how blasé people are in this thread noting that a person has died and two are critical. Regardless of whether you like the fella or not, this is a dire state for the democracy of the world's leading power to be in. I'd like to think we're better than this over here, and when (for example) Jo Cox/ David Amiss was murdered there was only condemnation and no points scoring. We desperately need to keep it that way. Under no circumstances do we want our politics to become as polarised and aggressive as they are over the pond.

I'm not sure that's a completely fair comparison - the group stages used to be a lot harder when there were only 8/16 teams, compared to since 2016 where it's more difficult to not go through!
