Nothing wrong with Polish weddings - two days of eating, drinking, smoking and dancing. Zwiec? What about the navy-floating quantities of wodka? And if you're offered Kashanka go for it - bloody fantastic! Enjoy.

[h=1]God is Brazilian: Charles Miller, the Man Who Brought Football To Brazil[/h] By Josh Lacey. A very good read and widely available.

Have never lived in Southampton (currently Kent), but Mum moved back in '67 to Devonshire Road just around the corner from the Dell. Visiting her that Easter I think the excitement of first division football and Ron Davies must have been catching. Then I painted white stripes on my new, red Subbuteo team and got to learn all the names playing a season against Smudger Smith and his Crystal Palace side. Happy days.

Thanks to Saints fans from Ron Davies's sister

Swap Gazzaniga for Kelvin and it becomes 23yrs 365.7 days. (I'm a sad bastard with time on my hands and a pitiful penchant for spreadsheets).

Thanks to the generosity of Saints fans around the world and of the Club and some hard work by Tijuana Tim and Ron's wife Chris, Ron had both hips replaced a couple of years ago.

Oops! My memory is so poor I referred to 'In That Number'. I obviously misread that! There's no hope for me!!

As we head back to the Premier League let’s give thanks to the man who scored 37 goals in 41 matches back in 1966/7, our first ever season in the top flight and his first season with Saints, Ronald Tudor Davies. We finished the season in 19th place with 74 goals for. Ron scored half of them and was the division’s top scorer, heading Geoff Hurst and Jimmy Greaves. That season also saw the debut of Mike Channon. Exciting days. Then . . . . . and now! Thanks Big Ron and HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Friday.

Don't often post, but how could I not after watching the video? Absolutely brilliant. Fab. Just one big family! Made my day. Thank you. -
Good grief! There are some miserable sods around. Runaway, I can’t remember a more exciting three seasons since 1965. The squad epitomises “team”. The football is often exhilarating with goals galore. There are heroes everywhere you look. The Club is settled, planning for a successful future and well run financially. Four years ago I never expected to see us the Championship again, let alone at the top of the table with a dozen or so matches left of the season. I would say this squad has given me my most enjoyable time as a fan and for this reason I’d be happy to endorse it as “one of the best squads ever”.

Fond memories! Mine was the basic set. It came with a red team and a blue team. The red team soon had white stripes and black shorts. From Eric Martin at the back to Big Ron up front. Funnily enough my first regular opponent, Mick "Smudger" Smith, was a Crystal Palace supporter. Too long ago to remember the scores though! Happy days.

He has a Winnipeg Maroons pin for sale as well. The backs look remarkably similar. Winnipeg Maroons existed between 1950 and 1967.
