Morning all - thanks for the all the posts ... my contribution today is ... BARNEY IS INNOCENT ...OK ? I SUPPORT BARNEY and want him back playing in the SAINTS Shirt as soon as possible. DC scored a great goal against BRIGHTON and proved his worth in last few games - but BARNEY is a special type of player.

Watched Barney's body language yesterday and he seemed a bit despondent. If he knew the fans were behind him then that maybe that would cheer him up. The crucial question is that if he spends 3-6 months in Winchester - will he be released from Southampton FC or will he be backed for a return and make a good contribution next season. After all, he is a good footballer and has got some important goals this season.

I would have expected lots more posts wishing Barney well and Good Luck Barney .... it all seems to have gone quiet as if there is an inevitability about his departure.

Recovered from celebrating SAINTS promotion. (hic !) My point is Barney has done well for Southampton and I for one hope to see him back playing Championship football next season.

Barney is gonna be sooooooooooooooooooooo important next season in the Championship and his goals will be vital ??????????????????????????

Thing about Punch is that he was never popular when he played regularly and he couldn't hit a barn door with his shooting. That said if he could have got his act together - he would have been on the bench and may have been an option as a sub today . Without Lallana the team lacked width against Tranmere and struggled in midfield. Saints are now having to rely on Oxy-C game after game. It was good when Oxy came on as an impact sub.

Why not give Bart the ultimate test and play him against Man Utd in the FA Cup game next week

IMO Playing Bart in Away Games where Saints struggle (apart from Oldham) must be worth a go. Saints have more Away Games than Home Games to play and could start sliding in the Table fighting for a Play Off position. Davis has made errors in the Brentford and Tranmere Game - but did well saving the penalty vs Brighton.

Had a problem in midfield today creating for the Strikers and Lallana would have made a difference. Having Punch on the bench would have meant we had him as an option. In fact we brought on another Striker Barney and although I agree with that - it was midfield that needed the boost. (Just like Brentford) - a costly error by Davis got Tranmere on their way. First goal in a tight game can be critical.
