What was fan violence like in the 80s at the dell?
PinkScarf replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
The fact is the Girls have been out on the Town tonight ... forget the past - it has a context but in 2013 tribalism is live and well in the Fair City of Southampton. Met a few lads tonight who still have an issue with wet Spam. No-one has forgotten the two drunken gobby individuals outside the Chapel goading Southampton Fans last season. This season if there is a repeat of the same - they will be seriously sorted out - drink or no drink. -
1 Adult Ticket for sale. Block3 Itchen North. Near to away fans. £100 - email wales.lynne@yahoo.co.uk if interested

The girls just read something funny on the echo site. Chelsea fans run - but West Ham fans are too stupid to run. same story in Itchen North with lots of evictions and the inevitable fights. 2 west ham fans in the chapel had a lucky day and only the generosity of the Saints Fans meant they were evicted and sent on their way. overall a good day for girls but deflated after letting in a soft goal.

Sparkling Southampton outclass woeful Liverpool x

There is Quality in Southampton. Just gotta know where to look !!
-
The Girls like MP. A Red Tie with Jeans is a good look
-
A lot of the girls travel separately and do not sit together.... Did have a thing for Barney ... Rickie is brilliant cos he scors so many goals !!!
-
The girls went to Newcastle Away and had seats up in the gods. Problem there was Saints Fans were miles away from the pitch and the players and when Rickie scored he faced a barrage of Newcastle Fans. Today in the sleet and Snow we were there and stuck in traffic outside the ground after an accident. The save today from Boruc was brilliant and almost like getting the Away Win. Been reading the Daily Echo site and Red Army1 is right - We are Southampton - and will be fighting to the end of the season. Having read lots of posts on the forum and the Daily Echo site - the girls reckon the famous Woolston Connection is for elite ... Men Only ... Got to hand it to Away Support - we really do have dedicated hardcore Supporters. If we made it to Europe in the Fair Play League (which is simmering in the background) - then we can see lots of these fans flying and travelling away. The League is the Priority and we are making a fight of it. Lots of missed chances today - so there are goals in the Team - just need to take our chances to move up the League. COME ON THE SAINTS. RESPECT TO THE TRAVELLING SAINTS SUPPORTERS.

All the Girls are looking forward to another GREAT SAINTS WIN !! COME ON YOU REDS !! -
I have 1 x Spare Ticket for the game against QPR. Let me know if you would like this Ticket. COME ON THE SAINTS !!
-
The girls know that mp and twitchy have their birthdays on the same day saints play qpr. We say ' arry (twitchy) leaves with nothing !!!

Down the road from Trafford Centre there is a bar called the Naggs Head where we can pack it out with Saints Supporters. United supporters not welcome. Google and then give the pub a ring.

No - the girls think he may not have been able to attract Top Quality Players and therefore Saints were caught in a vicious circle of not being able to progress whatever money they spent. Nigel was and is a very popular Manager but when we went the other night to the game - the crowd were screaming for Rickie and then Gaston to come on - if it had been left to Nigel only ... would the Team have clawed it back to 2-2. Dunno.

Firstly the Title Top Away Support should be in Capital Letters. That's how important its is and what a difference it makes. As the Players come out of the Tunnel or when the Keepers come out to practice - they can feel overwhelmed and on their own. The Lads and the Girls are the 12th Man. Look, Our Away Form has really improved .... and is is due to Saints Top Supporters. First QPR-Fulham-Stoke-Villa- Chelsea. The best post - Worldwide at the moment regarding Saints including the Ugly Inside - Saints Forum etc is from the Daily Echo site (still available) and posted by City Saint. Quote : Well done Jason, and the whole Team and a superb result last night. And good on PUNCH for showing that with hard work, and a willingness to MAN UP - anyone in the club can straighten their halo and become a TOP SAINT. UnQuote. Turkish and Orange - Get scanning through You Tube - the link was on the Saints Forum on the relevant thread - Superb Saints Supporters at Villa Away. For those who (a) did not (b) could not © had to fight for a Ticket (delete as appropriate) - Best Chant of the Night to John Terry - You let your Country Down ... etc Best Chant of the evening - OWTS - so loud - at the end of the game. TOGETHER AS ONE - We fill the Stadiums and we get behind the Manager and the Team. Volume Up a notch for the next home game against Everton who are beatable. We are a Family based Club. Pompey are the blue few with some mindless thugs who go to places like Manure - just looking for it. * Humour aside - Nigel will make the decisions on all the players based on a number of factors including what he sees on the Training Pitch. ..... Oh Southampton we love you ... In the opposite direction from the Itchen Pub (bridge Chapel etc) We will be in the Pubs before the Everton Game. COYR

Other Players have stepped up. Why not Barney ?? Even in it was for 20 minutes or a few minutes at the end of the game where you need an input of energy - to hold up play or add an additional threat.
-
Having seen the initial Team selection last night and then seeing Chaplow do a job for Saints last night - makes you think that Lee Barnard (Barney) could come on for a short period and be utilised by Nigel. Richard Chaplow is a Terrier and scored a classic goal against Man U in the Cup. Barney is not scared to get stuck in and is a Rottweiller. THE GIRLS LOVE BARNEY !!! Nice to see him travel with the Squad and in a Saints Shirt again. Discuss.

The Girls reckon that with Villa and Chelsea Away in quick succession - we've all showed what Top Support we have at this Club. Chelsea and Villa were like a Library. Proud of our Supporters last night. We could even hear then in the Streets with the long line of Poiice separating Supporters. John Terry got a bit of stick and so the Frank Lampard chant was right on the money. Discuss

The Girls copied this from the Away Fans Ground Guide. The pubs near the ground can be quite partisan, so I would recommend getting a drink somewhere on the journey there. A number of away fans drink in the pubs around the Earl's Court area, which is only a couple of tube stops away from Fulham Broadway station. The Courtfield Tavern, which is almost opposite the main entrance to Earl's Court Tube Station, is a particular favourite with away supporters. This pubs serves real ale, offers hot food, but both at what can be described as 'London prices'. Gordon a visiting Newcastle fan adds 'there are quite a few pubs on the Kings Road that are okay as long as you don't break into a chorus about your team!'. Alcohol is available inside the stadium, however for certain fixtures the Club opt not to sell any to away supporters, so don't bank on it! See you at the game !!

The girls have been reading the Echo site and think the Whitton Arms about 2 mins form the ground will be good for Southampton Supporters. Also mentioned was the Yew Tree and Barton Arms. Google the pubs near Aston Villa and get more precise information.

Kelvin is not good enough for the Premiership. He cost us the 3 points today. Gazza is also mistake prone and Boruc is no better.
-
All the Girls and lots of Saints Fans to take all points vs Fulham. Pub first. Winning next. Head back to Southampton to carry on the Xmas Drinking.
-
looking forward to Boxing Day. Lots of saints Fans going to this One. Pubs before the Game - The Zulu Bar, on Fulham High Street has received several good reviews from visiting fans. The Eight Bells, near Putney Bridge tube station is also recommended, as is The Larrik, a little further along Fulham High Street. Several pubs to the South of the Thames, in Putney, have also been recommended. The Dukes Head, in Lower Richmond Road, is recommended, providing excellent food and offering views over the Thames. The Bricklayers Arms, in Waterman Street, offers excellent real ales. However, pubs on this side of the river are a good 20-minute walk from the ground.

We will beat Sunderland and Fulham away. A tough gams but a point at least against Stoke. We will get a famous win against Arsenal and then with our away support beat Villa away. COME ON YOU REDS.
