I personally think that if he had any remorse he would take a job out of the public eye for the sake of the family. The 3.5 years didn't surprise me as the Government doesn't seem to consider manslaughter a serious crime.

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition

Heskey's been released by Villa. We could go in for him as well, and maybe wind up with the starting 11 that beat Germany in Munich in 2001... -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18164015 Fair enough after doing his time in prison? Or an insult to the family of the victims? Discuss.

Please don't compare us to Wigan. If you supported Wigan, that would probably mean that you lived in Wigan, which would mean that £255 is equal to about 7 years' wages.
-
Done, although Brighton and Hove Albion was close just for comedy value

I saw his some time ago and thought it was a bit silly. I'm not a big fan of JT but he's a good footballer. Joey Barton played what - once? for the national side. Hardly fair. Phil Neville is obnoxious but again not a bad player.

Now we the ups/downs are sorted, you predictions for next season
jjsaint replied to Deano6's topic in The Saints
This is one prediction I don't feel comfortable with at all. I have absolutely no idea - I'll go for 15th, staying up but not as comfortably as we'd like. -
Let's not forget that this keeps 'Arry out of the Champions League next year. Nice one Chelsea!
-
This. Gordon never really lived up to the hype due to injury.
-
Wouldn't mind having Owen to be honest but only if we can coax Teddy Sheringham out of retirement as well.

Let's look at the cold hard facts. Managers: Fat Sam is a bit of a c*nt. Olly is a total c*nt. Winner: West Ham Players: West Ham have Matty Taylor crown prince of c*ntage. Blackpool have Kevin Phillips. Winner: Blackpool Away Days: West Ham is close-ish, Blackpool isn’t. Winner: West Ham Fans: West Ham supporters are among the worst in England. Winner: Blackpool Raiding players: Blackpool have Matt Phillips and Thomas Ince. West Ham have nobody worth having. Winner: West Ham LOLage: West Ham are in serious financial trouble if they don’t go up. Winner: Blackpool Result: DRAW Therefore I don’t care either way.

Store this one under Bandwagon, Jumping on. Davis at Leeds.

Don't understand how Bradley's name keeps coming up for such a big job. Did I miss him taking USA to the semis last World Cup? I mean, he's not a bad manager, but a higher standard than McLeish? Not sure.

Good point - although a ban opens up the possibility of a reality show...

True to a point. We could do with one or two players who carry the dreaded tag of 'Premier League experience', but I agree that most of our signings should be young and hopefully long-term. -
Of course you can't compare winning the Premier League (which nobody really cares about) to winning the FA Cup (a competition which grows in stature every year). Face meet palm.
-
Does anyone have a vid of the Prutton sending off? I couldn't find one online. Would be interesting to compare the two. Concerning Joey Barton, I thought the Aguero incident should be a lengthy ban in itself. To be honest with his history he should have a serious ban, meaning years.
-
I'd take Hooper any day.

OK. A few mistakes and omissions (possibly obvious ones!) OK... England Scotland Canada US Greece Brazil Uganda New Zealand Jamaica ROI Been a good life.

Didn't realise that Sturrock's win ratio was so high. Nor Burley's. Mind you stats can say almost anything depending on how they're presenting. Best manager? Hard to compare the Prem with the Championship and L1, and 1992 with 2012. Different worlds. In addition we have been working under vastly disparate financial conditions as certain times. However I'll go for NA, due to the back-to-back promotions. Best in the Prem would have to be either Hoddle or WGS.
-
I'm not convinced about Kenwyne Jones' strike. I didn't trust anything the club said back then. Nor will I boo AOC. Thanks for the £15m Arsenal, you're welcome to him, no hard feelings. Kevin Phillips always makes a good panto villain but I doubt he'll get many games in the Prem if they go up.
-
Yes, some good memories under Pardew - not least of which was the JPT final.
-
Yes. As I recall we had a GK crisis at the end of the first season out of the Prem, when he came in and actually did a decent job. I'd forgotten about him too. Is any brave soul out there interested (or bored) enough to list all the players in the last seven years? Must be about 150!
-
I had a sudden horrid memory of them when I saw the thread title.
