Connolly is a crock who can't get a goal for love or money. Lallana and AOC are midfielders. If we're going to pretend they're strikers, then we need to sign 4 new wingers as we have none left. I know they can play in a variety of possitions, but if AOC, Lallana and Lambert all got injured at the same time, we'd be royally shafted in the attacking dept. Another striker and winger needed IMO (assuming Puncheon leaves).

We will be better than them and Arsenal when we've signed Owen, Benjani, Vassell, Skacel, World Class Ryan Smith, Bradley Wright-Torres and got them all playing total football.

After a couple of excellent home wins, the obvious moan is that we will find it tough going to cold, damp sh*t holes in midweek in winter. So here is a thread celebrating all the cold wet grounds we've gone to and battered them... My favourites were: -Winning 3-1 at Southend last season on a soaking wet Friday night. Can't believe that game went ahead, they were swimming accross the pitch half the time. Goals from Neal Trotman and 2 from Lallana if memory serves me right. - Winning 3-2 at Brizzle Rovers in the cup. They got an injury time penalty, which made the score flattering for them. Lallana, Antonio and Connolly tore them a new 'un. Was also cold and wet. I was in "the dry side over 'ere". Those at the game will know what I mean. - Winning 5-1 at the same ground later in the year. I decided not to go, having already been to the Mem Ground in the cup game. Went to visit family oop Norf, only to see us score 5 on SSN. Even Morgan scored.

My thoughts on the players: Davis - n/a Can't think of a save he had to make. Just picking up fairly routine back passes. FR - 7 Didn't do much wrong, supported Chamberlain well and caused them a few problems going forward. Fonte - 7 Kept it clean at the back, but was never troubled that much. Seaborne - 7 A bit hoofy but did his job well. Harding - 7 Reliable as always. Chamberlain - 6 Looked a bit quiet, maybe having the midweek game took a bit out of him. Great run and cros for Guly's second though. Completely did their LB first half only to get sythed down. Not even a booking. Morgan - 7 Played it around very well. Looks happier with Chaplow than Hammond. Chaplow - 8 What a signing. It's great to see his commitment in midfield. MOTM. Lallana - 8 He is sooo freakin' good. Anyone else see him control Seaborne's hoof first half. The ball was up out of the stadium, dropped 100ft out of the sky and Lallana stopped it dead on his toe. Unbelieveable skill. Lambert - 7 Didn't score, but put himself around a lot. Getting better. Guly - 8 Hot and cold. Two well taken goals, but was also capable of putting a shot out for a throw in. Getting better. Subs: Barnard - 7 Could have had a couple if he'd been sharper. Dickson - 7 A good option to have on the bench. Gobern - n/a Not really much time.

I've been a big critic of Guly in the past. Was I wrong? Well, no not really; at the time he wasn't playing well at all. Played well today though and took his goals well. Hopefully he can keep this up and become a real asset (if he stays). Having said that, I'd still rather start with Barnard. The number of chances we had when he came on was exceptional. We weren't exactly wasteful with them either. Two fantastic saves kept out Lallana and (I think) Dickson. Barnard had one himself which he would otherwise have buried if he wasn't a bit rusty.

Nothing less than 6 points will do (thought I'd get in first with the D&R jokes).

Great win and really could have been 7 or 8. Chaplow had one clawed away from the top corner first half, Barnard put a 1 on 1 just over, lallana had a 1 on 1 brilliantly saved, then the goalie somehow ran back to drag a shot ( from Dickson I think) away fron the goal. Great stuff!!
-
Given that we're only 1 year into the decade, I'd have to say Lallana.

I thought the two Christmas episodes were pretty good overall. A bit of the stupid 'fake accidents' stuff and some bad acting from Hammond, but overall pretty entertaining. Have to say I saw the Stig/Jesus thing coming on the second episode. Will be interesting to see how that develops.
-
He has played 17 games and started 8 of them.

I'd go along with that. As I've said, I wasn't at the game, so I can't really comment on his performance. I have seen the highlights a few times on the football league phone app. and his assists really weren't anything to write home about. A 5 yard pass to Alex for the first and a simple lay off to Chaplow for the second, which I'm not entirely sure he meant.

Chaplow - signed a 2 and a half year deal - OFFICIAL

Brilliant signing. Next time you fancy a moan about how teams above us spend pennys whilst we spend millions, remember this one (and Dan Harding). A very shrewd bit of business, welcome aboard Chaplow! P.S. Please can everyone stop wasting my bandwith responding to Charlie Wayman. He is so obviously a sad, lonely retard who is desperate for attention and you're all giving it to him. Just don't respond FFS! Edit: Notice he spoke to Neal Trotman about the move. His loan at Oldham is up in January and PNE could definitely use the cash. Would be good to get him in as a long term replacement for Jaidi. -
Under 12 Match - Parents Taking It A Little Too Seriously

That game was in London, it's actually their away support. -
For the year: 1. Lallana 2. Fonte 3. Barnard 4. Harding

Just goes to show how sh*t this league is. We've played very poorly this season and are still 5th with a game in hand over a couple above us. It's quite encouraging really. Adkins has done pretty well really. He's won something like 8 out of 12 home games to games since coming here. We just need to start doing the business on the road and get Rickie scoring and we'll be set.

With the exceptions of Solent uni and P&O, they are all large multinational compaines with branches in hundreds of cities across the world. Hardly a local connection. Can't see it being P&O as it's not really a local thing. People go TO Southampton to use ferries, so most of them aren't really going to be exposed to the publicity.

They weren't very good. Fuller - Scored 3 goals in 6 months for us, before being loaned out to Ipswich. I think part of the frustration was that he was the only replacement for Crouch, Phillips and Camara. It's not like people can predict the future. Should we all be raving about how great Pulis is because he is going to play for Real Madrid in 2015? Wright - He was just plain bad. You can say all you like about his attitude and effort, but he was crap. We released him, he went to Blackpool, couldn't get a game for love or money, was released again after just 1 season. Think he was last season playing for Croydon Athletic. BWP - Wasted a lot of chances, didn't score all that many goals and unlike Guly or Waigo, his build up play was terrible. Lazy and gave the ball away, a really bad recipe defensively. Puncheon - The booing of him was stupid, bit it really wasn't all that many people. I remember standing at the back of the Northam and seeing/hearing a lot of boos. It looks bad until you realise it's maybe only 1 or 2 dosen in a stand of 3 or 4 thousand. Guly - Didn't see yesterday, but I think he's pretty poor based on what I've seen already. He gives the ball away a fair bit and wastes a lot of chances. Effort and running are all well and good, but we need a player who can do more than that. Barnard any day for me. I never agree with people booing their own players (individually, but they got a good booing from me after the Brentford match), however there is a fairly understandable reason behind it.

Aren't you the guy who used to post pictures of boobs about 5 years ago?

Or if we got the backing of a major PC manufacturer. Then we could have, "The Dell St Mary's Stadium"
-
With a matching yellow away shirt of course.
-
Good to see we've finally cleared this up.

2 seasons in a row I've planned to go to this fixture but been stuck at work and missed the game. In contrast, I just made it to the Brenford game a couple of weeks ago. C'est la vie! I can still bask in the glory of 3 points.
-
Don't think I've ever been so happy to see Charlie Austin score.
-
If it stays like this, we go into 6th. 5 points off the top, 2 off 2nd and with games in hand over Weds and Udders. But then there is no point in telling you this. If Kelly Brook walked into your living room butt naked, you'd complain that she forgot to put the kettle on.

First League goal since we beat the Posh a month and 7 days ago.
