Van Gaal - "a lot of Saint players were offered to us"
whelk replied to Plumstead_Saint's topic in The Saints
I want to find out whether there will be wine shared or not. Was the tiny room at Liverpool? from Mirror: Koeman added: “One of the *traditions in England is, that when you play at home, you invite the opposition manager for a drink. “I love that kind of thing. It made me smile the first time I was invited into a tiny little room with no space at all. The idea to offer the other manager a glass of wine is wonderful. It is part of English football and I have made it part of my routine.” Yet...(from Guardian) Van Gaal says he will be happy to shake Koeman’s hand – “That will not be a problem” – but doubts if he will join him later for a drink because he will probably not get the opportunity. “I have heard of this English custom but I don’t know where managers find the time,” he said. “On matchdays I am talking to the press before and after the game and in between I am talking to my players. I managed to have a chat with Mark Hughes’s assistants after the last game against Stoke but Mark Hughes himself was speaking to the press and then I had to do the same. On matchdays I rarely get the time to talk to opposing managers.” -

PL is better for having arrogant 'characters' such as LVG a though. Don't need to like him but his press conferences are value and the man has presence. -
Not a lot between the Basingstoke Gazette and the Mirror mind http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jay-rodriguez-aiming-january-return-4760058

Funny old season. Just as big teams seemed to be getting it together Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal fck up today. Bookies loving it

Did he ever get booked for us?

Doesn't stop Merson saying Lambert nodded down to Lallana 5 mins after he has come off

Not sure of its validity although amuses me how extravagant public sector spending suits so many to be cause of global crisis. I just assume they are too thick to understand economics rather than deliberately ignoring to champion their ideology.

From FourFourTWo about Pelle's form: In the six matches since (Sunderland game) he's hit the target with just 2 of his 23 shots - most of which (well, 9) came against Stoke. That's some drop-off from his early-season form - up to and including that Sunderland romp (eight games), he'd tested the opposition keeper with 14 of his 27 shots, finding the net with 6 of them.

We seem to be getting into such a mess. Ballotelli getting charge is stupid as was Rio and now we are down that road. Pretence that everyone has kind loving thoughts and we live in such a sweet world. Full of much anger and hate and Whelan is an old northerner who used to call Chinese chingalings is not the unacceptable intolerance in society and more a generation thing. Still many 'nice' people want to see him hung drawn and quartered for the good of society.

Carra is a decent pundit and not just cos he is saying nice things about us.

No, if correct then we spent 0.6m which is not higher than competitors. Although didn't Ox go when in L1?
-
Maybe since this Tory govt the happiness rating of the nation is so high people are content they have no anger anymore.

Much better than Ghosts. Maps are excellent although lacking a Nuketown equivalent ie totally carnage, as far as I can make out. So stable on xboxone as well - don't know what your are expecting as similar to other versions to saw it is so bad. Ranking up seems bit dull.

Phil Neville and Hamann were also complimentary on MOTD although Lineker dared suggest again we might be punching above our weight. Getting fed up with us never getting praised by TV or papers ever.
-
The 3 games I wished we lost were Sunderland and Stoke at home and Hull away. Oh and would have been good if Millwall beat us so I wouldn't have unrealistic expectations of a cup final and could have just shrugged at yesterday's defeat.

Is Forster as well?
-
Villa had one shot on target which was a gift, we were in the game against an excellent City side for half the game, and arguably deserved a point tonight. Them the breaks but few hear seem to think we will out play City and then think something is majorly up when we don't. Bound to be the same ones wetting themselves in the summer

Agree FFS why does Yoshida get blamed for everything? And everyone knows Reed is a brilliant midfielder without any evidence. Oh and ignore any poor performances from Gardos
-
Di Maria and possibly Rooney out. If had free pick of players could have out would be them.
-
You figure that out how? To have never seen Saints lose suggest can't have seen many games. Are you mentally ill btw?
-
Lovren dropped again tonight
