  1. Planning permission..... Originally only 22,000 thousands seats were originally allowed and that was a fight in itself. Another tier on the East and the two corners of the South will be added in the summer, if planning is permitted.
  2. Better than Brighton had on the pitch though, effectively beaten by their reserves.... Two Youth players making their debut as well.
  3. If fairness, it's work in progress due to original planning permission constraints. Once complete it will be one of the best in the division.
  4. Technically impossible as the league was sown up by them with so many games to go, but a remarkable recovery after the bad start.
  5. Well a major factor has been the pricing. Mine (for instance) has gone down £100 from Withdean and I pay it off over a year with absolutely no penalty. It's also a very very good stadium.
  6. Brighton picking up another couple of signings - Romain Vincelot from D&D and Lua Lua.
  7. Not quite according to the Peterborough chairman in a video interview on their site. For some reason Warnock couldn't close the deal. He was very almost a Norwich player last season, but Peterborough turned down the money to try and gain promotion. His signature was *****il yesterday) between West Ham and Leicester, the former coming in with the much better deal. Birmingham were also interested but had to sell players first. CMS spoke to both but couldn't commit. Brighton came in with an offer that didn't match West Ham's but was better than Leicester's. At the last minute West Ham pulled out, and CMS chose Brighton who apparently were always his first choice. Surprised many I'm sure, but quite refreshing.
  8. But splits opinion with Brighton fans - as did Murray. It's always interesting isn't it ? how opposing fans views differ from home ones. In many cases the home fans are wrong... If there is one player who doesn't split opinion it's Lua Lua who is signing permanently tomorrow. More than makes up for Murray for me, many times so. I was never a Murray fan.
  9. "not going to pay"
  10. There is a lot more to story to be honest. Never settled at the club and by all accounts put in at least two transfer requests over the period of his time there. Very hit and miss until last season whilst coming to the end of his contract. Wanted a certain amount of money, Brighton didn't think he was worth it - Palace obviously did. Southampton possibly didn't - we'll never know. Money isn't really the issue at Brighton any more (Lua Lua signing permanently tomorrow), but they are going to pay players more than they think they are worth. He won't be missed, because replacements are being (and will be) signed.
  11. .. when I said "sale"
  12. Very out of date I'm afraid. That WAS the case a while ago due to personal circumstances. But most definitely isn't the case now due to personal circumstances. Which is why stories are emerging regarding to sale to Southern Clubs.
  13. Got one over on Poyet ? That requires an explanation....
  14. The because of "a recent circumstance" are interesting too, especially when your main rival is playing in another league. Brighton Fans obviously love beating Gillingham and Leyton Orient (who voted Southend) v West Ham is obviously going to take on a whole new dimension if Barry Hearn wins his court case...
  15. Rivalries are quite fascinating and they has been a number of surveys done on the subject. Brighton v Palace came number 10 (in the entire country) in one undertaken by Littlewoods. They are not reciprocated. For instance in another survey Arsenal Fans consider Manchester United to be their main rival, whilst Spurs fans still hate the Gunners. Palace Fans (of an older generation) consider Brighton to be their main rival, whilst younger ones would consider Charlton. Charlton fans however dislike Millwall the most, whilst Millwall fans would vote West Ham and Millwall would agree. Liverpool appear to have moved onto Man United, whilst Everton still hate their neighbours over the other side of Stanley Park. Personally, in terms or pure vitriol - the worst is the Sheffield Derby - which I know is odd considering they share a city. I'd put Southampton / Pompey second, closely followed by Watford v Luton ! Coming a close 4th - Burnley / Blackburn. Off most people's radar but the fans absolutely despise each other.
  16. Corners can fillled in and a second tier slotted in the East. There is also the potential for the roof to be raised. Modern Stadium designed to be expandable, pending planning permission.
  17. They are frequently let in, it depends on Police advice and expected attendance. I'm imagine it's a no for this game. There are plenty in pubs in Brighton, you can catch a train from Brighton to Preston Park in time for the game.
  18. Glass roof Every seat in the stadium is padded seats (same seat at the VIP areas of the Olympic Stadium) Rendered concourse walls and polished concourse floors State of the art hi definition screens each end - first in the country I think It's even got an internal warm up area for the players with artificial turf. Forget the false rivalry, you can't knock this stadium. It's up there (in terms of finish) with the Emirates and probably better in few respects because it's been built later.
  19. Since the mainstream media is obsessed with the Premier League, not sure there is a problem with any club releasing a DVD when (once in blue moon their club) is involved in a live televised game. Not so much the game but the build up and interviews etc.. Is anyone who recorded such a game "sad" as well.
  20. Do they have any more to prove ?
  21. Think the convention is last home game of the season, which for Brighton it isn't.
  22. Since the chairman has said this morning the aim for next season is "top six", I'd imagine Poyet will stick around for a while. Interviewed last night he said he would be at the club "for a long time". The rubbish current stadium, if not the league position masks what he has been allowed to do at Brighton. He's been given the opportunity and freedom to restructure a club around his vision of how football should be prepared for and played. There are many much bigger clubs than Brighton but very very few where a manager has the opportunity to do that. The only two that spring to mind are "Mr Crewe" Dario Gardi and of course Wenger. Right club, right manager, right chairman and right time. It could have course been very different, but evidently hasn't been.
  23. Not a coastal Derby by any means, but Palace are Brighton's nearest club geographically.
  24. Think he may stick around for a while, interviewed after the game: "I will be here a long time."
  25. Well, this keeps being used as as example (obviously) but they haven't played like that for the majority of the season. You don't get so far clear at the top of the league by playing like that alone. It simply doesn't happen. Recently however, they have been grinding out results. Probably knackered after hammering most the teams in this league. That's what champions do, and why (for example) Manchester United have been so successful over the last years and why Arsenal haven't. You don't walk the league by beating the teams the big teams, you walk the league by ensuring you always beat the smaller ones. That's why Brighton will finish as the best team in this league. They have played like Champions. I
